Huge disappointment. Heard great things, but food was bland and overcooked. Over priced even with a discount.

Amazing date spot. We had a living social coupon for the chefs tasting menu which was all good. The environment is perfect for an intimate date and the food is all good. Knowledgeable staff and very attentive.

This used to be my absolute favorite restaurant in Wilmington. Over the last several months, it’s become a huge disappointment, and between the harried staff and poorly-made food, I’d be willing to bet this place is on the brink of implosion. Such a shame for the neighborhood and the regular patrons who loved this place. Better off going to Columbus Inn, Domaine Hudson, or La Fia for a higher-end & quality meal.

Unfortunately my anticipated night at Moro did not happen, not because I did not go there… BUT…never heard this excuse before… arrived with a friend on Friday night at 6:40 and was asked,” do you have a reservation«? I didn’t but the restaurant was half empty so did not anticipate a problem. The hostess asked if we could wait while she went to check about seating with someone. Again, not too concerned because of the obvious empty tables. The hostess returned to tell us that unfortunately with only two servers on(remember this is a Friday evening, early evening) and no reservation we could not be seated! Now this restaurant is not large, it is housd in a small converted semi detached city row home, so each of the two servers probably had 8 tables each… at most. The situation was disappointing in my ways and signals to me that there could be some internal troubles. I hope not, it is a good restaurant but to have only 2 servers on, on an active spring weekend night does not bode well in terms of public perception.

This place has horrible service. Nowhere on the website does it specify that you need reservations, yet when my boyfriend and I came here for dinner they refused to seat us because we didn’t have reservations and they were«understaffed». Bullshit. No high end restaurant is understaffed on a Friday night. Go somewhere else!

The food wasn’t great. We had Mac and cheese, it was runny, soup like, and pasta was undercooked. I ordered the lamb chops, and I guess he was the server/more like manager looking guy, never asked me how I wanted it cooked. So after me pulling him aside and telling him, I got this two square pieces of meat – not lamb chops. It didn’t have any taste to it. Very dull and the server guy never came to our table to ask how everything was, which I get even at Pizza Hut or Applebee’s or chain restaurants. Waste of time and money

This was a huge disappointment considering when I first ate here 2 years ago, it was amazing. For starters, the owner was seating people and throwing the menus on the table and leaving. No customer service whatsoever… not even an «enjoy your meal» or «your server will be right with you». A little goes a long way and if you’re the face of this restaurant, wouldn’t you want to start off someone’s experience on a positive comfortable note? We ordered the cheese & meat plate which came out with running apricot jam that was dripping off the board, three crostini’s, a nice portion of 4 cheeses but nothing special about them and some sliced cured meats. No description of the cheeses. There was run of the mill, generic(think Hormel pre sliced) pepperoni on the cheese board which surprised me. For $ 18 I’d expect the chef to have a little more creativity. For the main course we ordered the pork tenderloin & the ½ roasted chicken. Both meals were plain and unexciting. It didn’t seem like the chef had any creativity going on throughout the menu. One thing that stood out to me was that there were NO beef options. No short rib, filet, steak, nothing. It’s really no wonder Satsuma shut down after seeing where this restaurant group is headed.

Used to love this place. What happened? First, ordered a house Cab… response: «no red wines» Second, The giant vine collection in wall was gone. Finally they did provide a «red blend» Third, The signature dish, Short Ribs, was not available. No crowd, hardly anyone in restaurant at 6pm, how could they run out of a signature dish? Fourth, Lots of «unavailable or substitutions» on menu and dessert selection The atmosphere was different. Not many staff. Something happened… sliding downhill. Will not go back, too many other good places to choose from. Sad when a great place declines.

The ambiance was odd, the restaurant was almost empty and they still scrambled to seat us. The food was very good, but as we were getting ready to leave we saw a white mouse. White! Aren’t pet mice white? It was a very horrible way to end the meal and we were more than happy to flee.

I really like Moro– I have been here a few times now and never had a big issue. I think on 2 occasions I showed up early and it was not a problem at all. All the food is fresh you can definitely tell. We like to get a cocktail or two– but the wine list also has nice choices. They have daily specials. The small plates are good I like to get a few to share such as the eggplant stacker where the eggplant is crispy and never soggy. The gnocchi is also very good — for dinner the short ribs or the fish is nice as well I never had desert but I’ve always been tempted. Every now and then they run a groupon or living social deal so be on the looknout

Very disappointed… Everything I see on Unilocal looks very good, but my experience was nothing like that. It looks like they took the foie gras and grilled oysters off the menu. Meat and cheese board: not good… 10 slices of pepperonis/salamis, 4 gherkin pickles, 1 tablespoon of jam, and 6 slices of cheese. Deli meats were hard(probably sitting out for a while) and tasted like purchased from shop rite. Gherkins tasted like vlassic and jam tasted like Smucker’s. Cheeses were good. Huge disappointment for $ 18. Crispy brie: the fried phyllo wrapping was more like tough, not crispy. Eggplant: the whipped feta was just ricotta, otherwise it was a good couple slices of breaded eggplant. Crispy oysters: basically fried oysters on tartar sauce. Grilled eel on avacado risotto: delicious! Kind of like a deconstructed eel avacado roll. I wish I had just ordered 5 more of these instead of everything else. This alone earned moro it’s 2nd star. Truffle fries and beer — stick with these options until they bring back the old menu. Everything else about the experience was a bit off… Cold restaurant, somewhat dingy bar area, and a ridiculously expensive wine list.

We eat at Moro a few times a year. Usually, the dinner is great. Last night at our Valentines Day dinner things were not up to snuff. The service was very good, but the food was lacking. I had four small plates. All but one were barely warm. I see another reviewer, Andrea L, had the same experience and I suspect the problem was restaurant wide. Of the four small plates one was really good, and hot, the baked razor clams. The other small plates were bland. My wife had the sole and it was very good. The end of the meal was capped by a thin slice of stale carrott cake smeared with a lousy frosting . Sad, because this used to be a consistently good restaurant. We will give them one more chance based on our years going there.

Met up with old coworkers for happy hour! The service was fantastic. I have been to Moro about 5 or 6 times now and I have always loved the food. But this time the food was very bland. We ordered the truffle fries and tuna tartare.

Went for a friend’s suprised bday party with a big group of people. They accommodated everyone quickly. food & drinks were very good. I’d recommend this place. I hold onto 5 stars for places that knock my socks off. I would say this is an above average restaurant that’d be perfect for any type of dinner occasion.

If you’re looking for a nice place to eat in Wilmington you found it. May not look like the best restaurant from the outside, but the inside will make you rethink that. I highly advise anyone that goes tries the fried Brussel sprouts and veal. They were both winners and I would have never guessed the Brussel sprouts would have been. Either way, Moro is one of the solid restaurants in the area and hopefully(as I did) you’ll have the hot brunette waiter, she’s a sight to see.

I have been here twice and they are the two best meals I’ve had in Wilmington. No lack of attention to detail. Fresh ingredients prepared with care. Menu changes often based on availability so you may have time to establish a favorite dish. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Excellent selection of wines, cocktails and beer. Be sure to catch the original May Ray art work.

Moro is a great restaurant that changes their menu seasonally and offers awesome fresh daily selections. I prefer to order a bunch of small plates to share, with their meat and cheese platter to start. The pickled veggies are super yummy and have a unique flavor! It is a little pricey, but it’s unique vibe and delicious seasonal menu make it worth the cost. One thing you MUST order is the Gin and Tonic. This classic drink is done right with the yummy addition of juniper berries!

I met RJ here last night after work. He ordered me the Moro martini which was fabulous, vodka and blood orange juice. He started with the oysters and finished them before I even got there! We shared the gnocchi with shaved ricotta, cavatelli with crab meat, cauliflower au gratin, and shrimp with wasabi polenta. Everything was incredible. The flavors were just phenomenal and everything was so good we wanted to lick the plates. We ended with a banana crème brûlée dessert that just melted in our mouths. We had a $ 60 groupon, otherwise it would have been really pricey. But the food is so insanely delicious its worth it.

For the price I have to give this place 3 stars. The food was decent but the food is on the more pricey side. We went for a company dinner. We got the following: Truffle Fries($ 8) — delicious, not enough truffle though Chef’s Antipasti($ 16) — assortment of cured meats, cheese, flatbread, and veggies– tasty. Goes great with wine. Foie Gras($ 16) — This was just ok for me — average Veal(I think this was around $ 25 – 30) — The meat was pretty dry and it came with risotto underneath the meat. I’m not a fan of risotto but I didn’t know so I ordered this. This was listed as one of their specials so I think they have different daily specials. Our waiter just mentioned veal and I forgot to listen to the rest of it. I just heard veal and was like YES getting this. I wanted the pork chop BUT they ran out! :( Oreo Crème Brulee($ 8) — Loved this!!! Tastes just like crème brûlée with an oreo flavor. love love. Best part of my meal! Service was great, friendly. We had a big group and the waiter was pretty accommodating when we kept moving around. The décor is kind of old. The price just doesn’t really match the ambiance.
