Yikes. This is where I got the worst hair cut ever. Not since the fourth grade and that horrible home perm have I been so upset about my hair. Adding insult to injury the hairstylist was one of the rudest, snobbiest people I’ve ever met. Even worse is that she was the owner and«master stylist.» Right. I went in for a cut and color. I had taken a picture in of what I wanted — totally doable and not crazy or anything and when she was done the cut was so short I looked like a boy and the color was disgustingly meek and mousey(I had asked for bright blonde hi-lites and got dishwater). Also, she left me during the waiting time of the coloring process and didn’t check on me again until it was done. Ummm… my scalp is burning. Thanks. And while you’re at it could you stop gauging my head with your inch long nails and stabbing me in the neck with the scissors. Great. The whole time I was trying to be positive but anyone could tell I wasn’t happy. To her credit she did try to improve it a bit but it was so far away from what I wanted and it kept getting shorter(plus my bum was getting tired from sitting for over and hour) that I had to just leave. It was like she totally ignored what I wanted and did what she wanted. Unfortunately, she didn’t have the skills to make those decisions. Anyway, I don’t normally do this but I had to call(after the shock wore off) and ask for either a redo or refund or something, anything to make it better. I’m told by the assistant that I can come back in for a refund of the haircut, not the hi-lites. I go in to pick up the refund and the stylist is at the counter, she says hi(doesn’t apologize at all through this whole thing) and tells me this is my refund. I tell her I was wondering if we could redo the hilites just to brighten it up a bit and she says she’s willing to do that. We make a new appointment. Appointment #2 comes around and her attitude is even worse than the first time — I can’t even describe how snobby she was. I understand that she was obviously hurt by having someone dislike her work. As an artist, I get that. However, her saying to me that ‘everyone always just raves about my hairstyles’ and that no one ever is unsatisfied is bunk. Meanwhile there’s a woman next to me getting her hair colored and styled by another stylist. When she’s done blowing it dry we see that it’s practically fuscia! Immediately the hairstylist is apologizing and saying it isn’t the way she wanted it to turn out and she can schedule her client another appointment immediately tomorrow, etc. etc. Master stylist announces, «see! even hairstylists make mistakes sometimes.» Whoa. Can’t believe you just kind of admitted it. Sort of. In a round about way. So cut to the end of the haircut where she wants to cut it some more and I’m like no way, thanks this’ll do. The brighter color makes it look a little better(and I don’t want you to touch my hair anymore.) Sooo… in conclusion… no apology, snobbery, righteous indignation and a serious problem with eye hand coordination. If these are the things you want in a hairstylist go here! Having said that, I appreciate the refund/redo and the other stylists may be good at their craft, I don’t know. Also, on the plus side, they have a small but modern salon and the assistants were helpful.
