So rude! Also they are hardly open. Food is good but not worth the trouble. They just don’t seem to care about there customers when that’s the main thing to get repeat business.

I agree. The atmosphere is pretty rude. They have at least three different signs hanging up making fun of customers, threatening to kick customers out if they complain or charge them more based on the customers attitude. The atmosphere was pretty dingy and the food was average at best. I would rather take my money and give it to the restaurant that is not annoyed by customers.

Right away a rude experience when I walked in and looked around. The walls have signs in there that are tacky about the customer not being right and such; get over yourselves. It took 10 minutes for anyone to make eye contact with me to say Hello, and after that I waited another waited 45 mins for two basic sandwiches, and I still didn’t get them because I had to leave for a prior engagement. If it’s going to be awhile please let your customers know, it’s easy to do, and I wouldn’t have been so frustrated! I worked in food service for YEARS, and I would never purposely ignore a paying customer for that long or neglect to them them know of the wait. They were putting all of the called orders ahead of in person orders, and one of their workers left at noon when they were clearly busy with phone and in store orders. I won’t go here again ever, and I usually give everyone a second and third chance as I definitely understand the biz. Tip: If you want your food definitely call ahead, or better yet, go to KKDs downtown where they have kinder and better service(in my opinion). Also, I saw the man handle cash several times, and then make sandwiches without gloves or washing his hands *cringe*.

This is a great family run establishment. I’ve always been a big fan of Waf’s Westside deli-Pizza after my first visit there. Waf and Sada are great owners. They will most likely strike up a friendly conversation with you when you first walk in the deli, and talk to you. Waf’s Westside Deli has an extensive menu of food that they offer. Whether it’s their pizzas, or barbecue bacon sandwiches, it will hit the spot. The prices are reasonable, and they give you plentiful of food for what it is worth. My personal favorite is the barbecue bacon sandwich, it doesn’t take a long time and it never disappoints.

We don’t live in VT anymore but visit once a year. Each time we go there are three things we always get – Stewart’s ice cream(that’s right, not Ben and Jerry’s), a gallon of maple syrup, and Waf’s pizza. The food here is the best, Waf is the best, Sada is the best. If you want great food prepared by great people, eat here. We first started going to Waf’s when it was on the westside, by the po-po station. When he moved to the eastside he kept the name«Westside Deli». What’s a little geography among friends? That’s why we love Waf – he’s one of a kind.

I called to place an order and they said that they don’t have time for that and hang up on me! I called back and told them that they are rude. Now they told me that I was rude for ordering large volume of sandwiches for my students. What is wrong with them? Seriously… what part of that is really«Friendly»? Anyway I found other place that welcomed my $ 600.00 worth of sandwich order.

Stopped by Waf’s to splurge for a Moroccan Gyro today. I remember the deli when it was on the corner by the Winooski Police Station. He & his wife are definitely doing something right if they are still in the biz 20+ yrs later. Now it is right on Rt 15 by the Railroad tracks. There is plenty of parking & overflow on the street. If you ordering take out, I suggest to call ahead especially at noon. The menu is available online. For sit-in dining, you can order your sandwiches, get your chips, soda, grab a table & they bring it to you. After you are done you go up and pay. Plenty of seating & has a pub-like atmostphere. They have wi-fi, fooseball table & good beers on tap if that is your thing. His prices have gone up a little bit but the servings are plentiful. Love the gyros, something for everyone imo.

Waf and his wife Sada are amazingly friendly. So friendly, they start the same conversation with me every time i go there. Odly enough, that’s what I want. These people are not only great conversationalists, but great cooks. Waf always knows to get me a beer, and they’re usually playing 70’s throwback jams. If you ever want at hot sammich, go here. If you’re not sure what you want, go here. Everything they make is great, and it’s worth checking out.

I love Waf’s Deli. The atmosphere is a little weird(minus one star) sterile and plain… but the food is great. Also, they make a pretty damned good«philly» and as a native Philadelphian, I get a little defensive when restaurants slap the word«philly» on anything on the menu just because it has peppers and onions on it.
