Location — CC is located on 109 Glade St SE Wise, Va, not far from downtown. Parking is available in front of the store. The only downside is the remote location of Wise in relation to more populated areas. Grade: B– Atmosphere– The store is small but clean, well lit and highly organized, utilizing the space to the fullest. Gamer’s play in the back on weekends and the staff is always friendly. Grade B+ Knowledge/Customer Service– The staff at CC is very knowledgeable and friendly. These are true comic collectors, not just guys who run a comic business. grade A Quality/Selection– This is a gamer’s paradise. Cards, games, toys, posters etc are plentiful and while I was talking at the counter they easily rang up $ 40 in game cards. Very high end back issues can be found here due to the recent purchase of an enormous silver age collection. However, most of these books are available on ebay or upon request only and not on display. A limited supply of reasonably priced reader copies going back 40 – 50 years are available and many sell for as low as $ 1. Don’t expect too much in back issues, they are very limited. The main improvement I would like to see is the lack of new issues and independent titles. More common titles are present in limited supply but due to the size of the shop and its location it is probably not cost efficient to carry a large number of new titles, which hurts the selection. One aspect of CC I really enjoyed was the large collection of high quality vintage pulp magazines, mainly from the 50s-70s. These are located near the back. Grade:C+(Indy-D, Mainstream-C-, Reader issues C+, Key Collector issues-B+, Toys games, cards etc –A) Overall: the Good: Well organized, Great customer Service, Large selection of high quality key issues(upon request) going back to the silver age, gamer’s paradise. The not so good: Remote location, Limited selection on common back issues and new titles. Overall Grade: B–
