Davanni’s Pizza & Hot Hoagies

Whenever my wife and I are in the Twin Cities we stop at Davanni’s in Woodbury. It’s clean and airy with plenty of seating and a friendly, efficient staff.
We’ve only ever had the calzones (because they’re so good) but they also have pizza and hoagies.
We always come back so it must be good.

Our spur of moment choice was Punch Pizza or Davanni’s last Sunday? Both are excellent restaurants. It’s been 2+ years since we’ve been to both. We called in an order for 3 off Davanni’s website menu. The hoagies were excellent (1 turkey & 1 assorted meats) and the lasagna was awesome. Experience was positive from phone-​in to pickup with prompt, polite, accommodating service including a couple of special requests. We will be back soon. Thanks Dananni’s!

Staff and management here are fantastic! Our school has hosted several fundraiser nights here and have never been disappointed! Their pizza never disappoints, nor does their cleanliness. It’s a definite go-​to for our family — the kids love the back room with the tvs!

This place has such great food, but of course I would say that because I work here but even before I did I thought this was some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. Way better than those nationwide corporate pizza places like Pizza Hut or somewhere else.

Well, we’ve tried just about every pizza place in town so far and this is the winner! The crust is fantastic, regular sauce was sweeter than others in the area and cheese, oh my. The cheese was fantastic, definitely created with the freshest ingredients. We’ve found our new pizza place! :)

I usually only get delivery from this restaurant & they are always spot on. Fast delivery friendly drivers, pay & order online. Minimum lunch delivery order is only $ 10.00. Good pizza & sandwiches.

Good choices as far as hoagies and pizzas. Dine in or delivery.

This place is an exercise in bewilderment as I really enjoy Davanni’s Pizza just about everywhere else but here. I have ordered pizza a few times now and the pizza always comes par-​baked. This is indicative of one of two things: either the ovens are too dirty to cook pizza efficiently or the cooks just simply ignore customer requests to have their food prepared the way they want it. Either way you slice it, this Davanni’s should be avoided.

They were busy when I ordered, so it explains the time I had to wait for the food. This place reminds me of Shakeys, but has more of a midwestern vibe. They had an accident with my order. Half of my calzone fell, and they offered to make another one, so I got a half calzone for free. That’s good customer service.
I went there with a group of around 10, and we didn’t get too much trouble from customers or staff for taking up a good portion of the corner back area.

After reading other reviews, I had hoped for decent food. I was disapointed. I had an italian sausage hoagie. The sausage was fine (same as you would get from a grocery store) and the bread was fine. The sauce on this was sour with little seasoning except sugar to help tame the sour tast. YUCK. The cheese was just a VERY thin slice of Provolone over-​melted on top of the sandwich. You could literally see through the cheese it was so thin. YUCK again. I also got a Ceaser salad. It was regular iceburg lettuce with a packet of croutons and a packet of Ceaser salad dressing — 3^rd YUCK. Honestly, I nearly just threw it in the trash except I was hungry.
I will definately NOT go back here again.

I’ve used this Davanni’s twice now. The first time, I ordered a pizza for my hubby’s birthday to be delivered on a specific day. I requested a large pepperoni pizza with the pepperoni in the shape of a 30. They were great and hubs loved it!
The second time we ate in with another family. We had some cheese bread which was tasty but I found to be a bit dry. The cheese topping came off when I cut it up for my daughter. We also got a medium sausage & green olive on traditional crust and that we liked.
A bonus star for the new coke dispenser with all the flavors but the downside is that it causes a traffic jam while the user decides, «Do I want cherry coke? Cherry vanilla diet coke? Raspberry lemonade? Orange Sprite…» etc. I love that thing though — what a great invention.

After a long and productive day of garage sale-​ing we decided to hit up Davanni’s. I love their hogies. Garlic-​buttery goodness FTW! The hoagies have garlic butter, mayo, lettuce, tomatoes onions, cheese and your choice of meats. Something I really appreciate is that they are happy to customize your order. Their deep dish pizza is also decent but the hoagies are where its at.

Some of the better pizza I have had in Woodbury. The crust is the clincher. Fast delivery and reasonable prices.

Until today, I had only had Davanni’s as take out — and by take out, I really mean we would order it and take it home and eat it much later in the day. I always thought it was good pizza, but I really thought that I should try it when it was fresh out of the oven someday… Today was that day.
We went for lunch and ordered 4 bread sticks, a deep dish pepperoni and 2 drinks for about $ 18.
The bread sticks were top notch! They were covered in butter and garlic — how can you go wrong with butter and garlic?
Our pizza arrived shortly after. I thought it was great! the crust was crispy and the sauce was super tasty. I thought the little rack between the pan & the pizza was a great idea — really kept the crust from getting soggy —
Overall, I thought that the meal was great! I would certainly order pizza from Davanni’s again!

Great Pizza and hot hoggies

I’ll probably be tarred and feathered for saying this, but I don’t think Davanni’s is that great. I gave them a couple shots and once I thought they almost scored, but when it came right down to it, no dice. Sorry Davanni’s.
I think it’s very bla and the pizza is sort of what I’d expect to get from some random pizzeria in northern Wisconsin, which, unless it’s topped with sauerkraut and German sausage, is more bla than bla.
Maybe the original Davanni’s was great. And if so, more power to them. But I think this is one local spot that sold the franchises short. Let’s blame Woodbury.
