Some people love Western Bagel(s), but I’m not a huge fan. The bagels taste fine, but they’re thin compared to many other bagel shops. They apply a decent amount of cream cheese, but not enough. Recommendation: Don’t get lox on your bagel! It’s applied in 3 – 4 thin strips; no slices here! The amount is less than generous too. The place was beyond packed a couple days after Christmas. They didn’t have enough staff, but I’ve been there before and never seen so many people there at once. Perhaps it was because schools were off for winter break. Any other day there is a lot of space in there to sit down, to wait in line(if there is a line), and to wait for your order.

I have to say that I have eaten at many bagel joints and western bagel is definitely at the top with their taste and consistency. In addition the crème cheese has the good sour taste that one would expect it to have.

This is the kind of place that is successful despite its many failures — namely with regard to service. The bagels are pretty good by west coast standards, but each time I enter I want to pull my hair out. Most annoyingly, their«staff» is pretty horrible! They don’t listen and totally forget your order because they start talking to other coworkers while you are ordering. So rude and frustrating. If it only happened once it would be no big deal but it seems to happen every time we are there. Secondly their shop has no flow and it’s always chaos in there. They have a «take a number» dispenser but they don’t have the thingy that shows what number is currently being served. Each staff member that is available to help just starts quickly calling out numbers — so fast that they actually skip over people… so dumb and inefficient but hilariously stupid at the same time. 4 stars for the bagels | –2 stars for the circus

Good bagels. Always fresh and tasty. The service at this location on the other hand is hit and miss. Good luck with special request like easy cream cheese or extra toasted. Don’t ask for anything too complicated, keep it simple and you will have a better chance of getting your order correct. If you know Spanish, be prepared to use it at this location. Parking is ok. Prices are good. If you want to try something new I recommend the pizza bagel, ask for it to be warmed up!

Alright fine, you’re right, their floors are dirty. It’s like a New York City subway station behind the register. And fine, that apathetic college-somethin kid that helped me left something to be desired in terms of not feeling like the crap on his shoe… but that bagel and that in-house cream cheese did some kind of little dance with my SOUL. I never understood why there were bagel shops at all… I’m a Cali native, and that’s just not a thing like it might be on the East Coast. We’re more of a Fro-Yo in UGG boots state, ya know? But if you were like me and haven’t checked it out, please put that bag of bagels back on the shelf at Vons and enter the REAL bagel players club.(Note: I went crazy and bought 16 and they became rock hard after a few days. Take it easy. Just ease into this, man.)

I’m a big fan of waking up in the morning and grabbing a bagel. Not every day, it is a treat. I usually grab them when I just feel like it’s going to be a good day. That being said, western bagel has slowly become my go to place in woodland hills. I know it’s a chain but I like their bagels. It’s not the closest one to me, but driving an extra 5 minutes to get these dough is worth it. Their specialty is okay and limited. They have sandwiches but the store is more made for those baker dozens. Buy a dozen, bring it home for the family, or bring it to the office and watch everyone’s excitement. These bagels are good. This location is the reason why I give this western bagel a 5-star(it is a chain restaurant). Good system so rarely has a line. Always clean. There always seem to be someone willing to greet you and work with you. Overall, this is a great place to get a dozen bagels.

Well, western bagels ohhh this one first off the service here blows. They have high school kids and what looks like possible ex crack heads that work here, their rude they don’t pay attention to anything you request from them for example I had asked for a onion bagel not toasted with onion cream cheese, what do I get a egg bagel toasted with regular cream cheese. What the crap! I sent it back and the managed to screw it up twice! At this point I was a little up set and asked to speak with a manager, he told me he was sorry and corrected my order then I noticed on my receipt they charged me for as toasted bagel I asked yet again you charged me for something I didn’t ask for, he corrected the issue and then I said«you guys charge to toast the bagels«he said«yes sir we do, it’s considered labor so we have to charge«(how convenient– they automatically toast the bagels unless you special order them NOTTOASTED!) at this point I didn’t even want the bagel! The snot-nosed kid employees are rude when you ask them to remake your order that they messed up on, also their«take a number» system is whack. Almost every time we go, we get cut in line. Not to mention most customers have no problem cutting right in front of you– perhaps it’s the population? Bagels are good, I’ll give em that much, but could go for a little better service.

Western has great bagels. Lots of options for toppings. Quality of service is hit or miss. I guess i get unlucky with the service compared to others. It doesn’t prevent me from coming here though.

My bf and I wanted to have bagels and lox for lunch so we decided to come here to purchase some fresh bagels. We ended up getting a baker’s dozen and a cream cheese and I believe the total came to a little less than $ 14. It was a great deal! I tried the bagel about an hour after purchase and it had a great chewiness to it. I will definitely come again to purchase bagels in the future.

I have been a loyal customer my entire life. As a child, my father brought home a dozen bagels every Friday on his way home from work. Their bagels are consistently delicious, my favorites are: everything, poppy, sesame and rye. They are perfect bagels; not too small and not too large, crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle.

Still great bagels, but dismal service today. Waiting to be served while the woman behind the counter just watched and was playing with her phone. Horrible. See photos.

Western bagel gets busy on the weekends. Their coffee is decent, the food is great. Their bagel sandwiches are the best of any place I’ve ever gone. Super slow at this location when it gets busy

The bagels and pastries were amazing! I really enjoyed the cinnamon coffee cake that was super moist, the wheat raisin bagel with cream cheese, and the chocolate chip Danish. The French roast was good too but not as strong as I was hoping. Definitely wanted to buy all the pastries and take them home.

Great jalapeño cheddar bagel! Add some jalapeño cream cheese for an extra kick. This is definitely a spicy bagel, I’ve had versions that aren’t so this was awesome!

I would do tricks for a bagel: sit, shake your hand, spin, play dead. I can even learn something new. Yep, I love’em. By the dozen is how I do it, plus they’ll give a free one. It’s a pretty big bagel shop, and the lines on weekends it’s 20 people deep. So take a number, pick your cream cheeses out of the fridge, and be patient. Recently, I had a sesame bagel. It was outrageously good, possibly, the best I’ve ever had(and by my looks, I’ve had a lot in my time). Western Bagel is a chain, but this is a good one. Bagels aren’t overly large(ala Noah’s Bagels), so plan on having two.

For Los Angeles this is a top draw Bagle place. They have a great sandwich menu. I had my first Hebrew lox bomb from here and it held up to snuff for sure. I got a few for home. Sesame and onion. You Gotta stop here for lunch.

Omg, these bagels are so good! I’ve passed by this store many a time when going grocery shopping at Sprouts but never had the opportunity to go in. So I was really excited when a coworker brought some bagels from here into work one morning. I grabbed a bagel with everything on it. Looked like wheat covered with sesame, poppy seeds, and onions. You can really taste the onions. So chewy and delicious. And even better with wild berry cream cheese and what looked like whipped cream cheese spread on it. So yummy!!!

This place is amazing!!! The best time to go is when everything is fresh out the oven! They Onion Cheese bagel is to die for when it is fresh out the oven! I wish I lived closer so that I could go all the time. SANDWICHES are just as yummy!

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. we know that Western Bagels has fresh yummy bagels, my favorite the jalepeno cheese, and they have an assortment of all different kinds of cream cheeses and schmears, from lox to strawberry to calorie conscious«lite.» Also, it’s always crowded on the weekend, so get in, grab a ticket and line goes fast. We are so predictable that other customers with the same bagel run agenda have become familiar faces. But, did you know WB serves a mean oven roasted turkey sandwich? Yup! I didn’t realize, until now. I love me some western bagel!
