Surprisngly good pie. I’d never heard of this place before I saw a couple reviews and a pic of some breadsticks on Unilocal!’ Being the adventurous type, I gave it a try and boy am I glad that I did. Not too thick, not too thin. Crunchy edges and chewy everywhere else. Good amount of sauce and toppings and very tasty overall. Definitely worth a try, you just might have a new favorite pizza joint!

This place has been here for years and I never went there until last night. I am so mad that I took so long to try this place out. Best pizza around here for sure. Picked up my pie right on schedule. XL Garlic and Mushroom no meat on Friday’s for Lent for me or else I would loaded the meats on. Got to my friends house and opened the box and thought ok it look’s like an average pie like most Chicago thin crust, but mmmm mmmmm doggy daddy it was so much more tastier. I’m not putting down the other places either. Papa’s, Nonnies, Rosati’s they all got quality pizza’s, but this one in my opinion just is much better. It’s the crust, something about the crust that makes it better. Again it’s my opinion as my buddy didn’t care for it. I on the other hand Loved it!!! I wish they had later hours, and yes like another person posted it would be nice if they were a sit down place, but I don’t care I will be ordering pizza from here very often. Can’t wait to try pepperoni and saaaaauuuuusageeeeeeeee.

This evening I made an impulse purchase. I ordered the oven baked breadsticks filled with cheese. After the breadsticks are pulled out of the oven, they are brushed with a garlic-herb. Then topped with parmesan cheese. It was actually pretty tasty. I would order it again. There is 4 breadsticks to an order and served with a side of cold pizza sauce. I prefer to have warm pizza sauce when dipping. Make sure you heat up the sauce container before eating, you will love it even more.

This is my favorite pizza in the area. They’re generous with the toppings and it’s really cheesy pizza. Plus they’re friendly and make the pizza very fast, so my stomach doesn’t have to wait too long.

I’m impressed. To my detriment, I have been passing up this pizza place, in part due to a lack of promotion on their part, and in part due to my hesitation to take a risk on an unknown(not many reviews to be found!). I’m glad I gave this one a try. The pizza here is fresh and very tasty. Actually, pretty outstanding. I love opening a box of pizza and finding plentiful toppings, sitting in just the right amount of melted cheese. Skimpy ingredients is a no-go for me. Too little cheese is unacceptable, and too much cheese is just — too much. This is just right… plentiful, but not overbearing. The toppings were just the right amount, too. We ordered chicken on ours, as we often do. Wow… great! It’s really hit or miss with chicken at most places. Many times, it’s dry and most of the time, the taste leaves much to be desired. But the chicken here was fresh, moist, and very tasty. The crust was lovely, and tasted — I don’t know how else to describe it — fresh. There was not even a hint of grease, either on the crust or on the toppings. I HATE grease! This was a welcome change from most. And finally, the sauce. Outstanding! This was a tangy, delicious sauce unlike any I’ve had around Chicago. It, too, tasted fresh. Combine lively tangy flavor with freshness, and that really makes the pie. My pizza companion is very hard to please, and I was happy when I looked over at her to find that she, too, was smiling. This pizza was pleasing her taste buds, as much as it was mine. Awesome. A winner for us. Can’t wait to try another one. I’ll report back if things are this good the second time. And as another reviewer mentioned, it will be fun to again hear the chef telling me, «I’ll have it ready for you in «fif-DEEN minutes». One suggestion for the owner — please post the pricing on your website. I almost didn’t call, because normally if prices aren’t shown, it’s too expensive. The prices here are not any higher than average — especially considering the quality of the product.

Best calzone ever! The only reason why I won’t give them 5 stars is because the hours are very inconvenient. They open at 4, and it may say they’re open until 8 or 9 or 10, but they are not true to their hours, which is very irritating when you’re hungry.

Let me just say this: if I had to choose between this place and Papa’s Pizza Place further down Janes Avenue, then Pizza Italiano wins by a landslide. The pizza is definitely of a higher quality — but that doesn’t mean it’s the best! I do wish that this was a little more than just an ordering counter; it seems that decent sit-down pizza places are hard to come by. At least here, everything is made fresh. I mean, you walk in to place an order, and they start making your pizza by hand right in front of you. In about fifteen minutes, it’s piping hot and ready to go. I met the guy running the place, and he seemed like a nice guy… until he started ranting about how bad the area was. I’m not kidding, the guy’s a bit of a racist. I’m not even going to repeat the things he said, but let me just say this: he was unhappy to be the white minority. Just based on that experience alone, I’ve avoided this place ever since. I’m not going to support someone who thinks that way, even if they are just down the street. So, why give this place two stars and not just one, you ask? Because even though I disagree with the owner, he still delivers to our complex. The owners of Papa’s Pizza Place will not. Their actions speak louder than words.

I’ve been wanting to try Italiano since we moved into the area. They had great reviews here and are within walking distance of my house. I really wanted to love it… I didn’t. I can be, admittedly, a bit of a pizza snob. Having grown up on the south side, I have a specific taste when it comes to pizza & unfortunately this didn’t fit the bill for me. It wasn’t the worst pizza I’ve ever had, but it was far from the best. I would get it again only if I were in a time crunch as it was done amazingly fast, but for taste & quality, I’ll look elsewhere.

BESTPIZZAINTHEBURBSHANDSDOWN!!! The first time I went in this place was the day I moved into my new apartment. No one wants to cook their 1st night at a new pad so naturally I decided that I wanted pizza. Much to my surprise this strip-mall treasure was the closest pizza joint around. I called and ordered a pie and the man on the phone stated«I’ll have it ready for you in fif-DEEN minutes» I was excited to hear the south-side Chicago accent, usually meaning authenticity. When I arrived to pick up my pie, there was a guy who seemed to be in his 50’s standing alone behind the counter. He greeted me with a nice hello and asked if I had ever had Pizza Italiano before. I said no… he simply said…“You’ll be back!”…sure as shit I was back a few days later. The pizza is like that 1 food that you will just keep picking at as long as it sits in front of you… knowing that you are full you still keep eating… and eating… and eating. The only thing that I dislike is the spinach… a little wet at Pizza Italiano, kind of makes things a bit slimy.

This is by far one of the tastiest pizzas I have ever had. I couldn’t drag my son away from the table, I thought he was going to explode. I wanted the thin crust, but forgot to order it thin so it came medium crust. I was not disappointed in the least. I tried the sausage and pepperoni, it was great! I can’t wait to go back for the thin crust. It is a bit far for delivery to my house in Naperville, but for that flavor, I will make the drive.
