Wow! We have a farmer’s market, all the way out here in the boonies! This market is small and cozy, and despite its size the market offers a wide variety of wares. The last few markets have brought the following bounty: fresh seafood, grass-fed beef, eggs, a variety of goat cheeses, incredible and cheap no-spray local apples, specialty chocolate and cakes, locally roasted fair trade coffee, honey and nuts, and a variety of produce. Not too shabby for a tiny farmer’s market in the middle of the woods. If I had to wish for one market addition, I would LOVE a local bakery represented among the vendors(the one food group missing from the current options). This market is brand new, and I am so excited to have it here in the neighborhood. Word on the street is that the market vendors are even organizing a CSA box for the winter season when the market goes into hibernation. Thanks, Mountain Goat Farmer’s Market, for existing!
