Haven’t been here in years and finally today my boyfriend and I came in for a late lunch. Absolutely wonderful service and the food was amazing. We ordered the Le Mans burger and the BMW burger the girls who work there are SUper nice too! Love it and we are so coming back ASAP

I think this place was a overpriced for what we ordered. I hate where we were seated cuz guests and waitresses were coming in and out of the sliding door and don’t have the audacity to close it and it was friggin cold as shit.(Indoor seating) I had my 11 month old with me so he was freezing. Kids corn dog was over 5 dollars. I had the pulled pork. Not gona lie it was pretty good. Seems like their brunch is more popular than the lunch and dinner menu so I will give their brunch a try. Service was okay.

Driving down Rt 35 we decided to make a «pit stop» at Alice’s. Unfortunately it was a rainy day so the usual assortment of classic cars was not on display. Inside things were still great. We came in around 2pm and were able to immediately get a table. Our waitress was prompt and took our drink orders. While we didn’t partake in beer that day, Alice’s seems to have a great beer list! For our entrees I ordered the Vespa(veggie) burger, and my wife ordered the Yahmaha burger which is a free range chicken breast, with teriyaki, pineapple & jack cheese. My burger was good, though I missed in the description that it comes with mayo(I’ll have to pay better attention next time). My wife’s burger fell apart half way through eating it. If I had to make one recommendation it would be for Alice’s to toast the bun on burgers, I think that would make them a little sturdier. All burgers are served with chips(I’m assuming they don’t have a deep fryer) Other than that my only gripe is being charged $ 3.25 for a regular size soda fountain drink, and a cup of drip coffee. While I’m sure there are free refiles on both, it just seems to be priced to help inflate your bill. Major plus, they have free Wi-Fi!(cell coverage is spotty at best in this semi-remote location). I’m interested to check out their breakfast and dinner offerings, as well as their live music!

Alice’s just gets it right. Very friendly place whether you’re a local or not. Nothing fancy, but consistently well prepared, nice options from classic diner fare to more NorCal cuisine(local, healthy). Last night the New England style clam chowder was outstanding. Very flavorful and not too heavy yet very rich, and chock full of yummy clams that tasted very fresh – not chewy or overcooked. The side salad was not so exciting for $ 6. Their wines by the glass are very reasonably priced and feature some of the excellent local selections like Thomas Fogarty and Martella. It seems they could have used one more server for what turned into a pretty busy mid-week night, as we had to ask for water and bread several times, but super pleasant and very apologetic after we’d asked yet again. In the past, I have had the breakfast here and always had fantastic omelettes. My husband occasionally comes here for a burger and beer with mountain bike buddies after a ride, so I’ll get in a good hike to justify getting my OWN burger when I meet them! Always worth a few extra miles to get to enjoy a terrific, cooked just as ordered, juicy burger here. The owners are very hands-on and attentive to all aspects of their place, and it certainly shows. Keep up the great work and I will keep coming back.

I came here for lunch for the second time, and the burgers are still amazing. The burger this time was Jalopy Burger with a small side of garlic fries. I really do recommend people to come try this place out at least once. Pros: — Good wait time — Decent prices for a nice, big, juicy burgers (The burgers here are very flavorful) — Variety of alcoholic mixed drinks & beer — Very cozy atmosphere — Friendly staff Cons: — Parking is usually packed — Staff were friendly, but not very attentive — A little packed

Never been to Woodside, or driven on or near the 9. So glad my date introduced me to this place. From the outside it seemed like a pitstop diner. Once inside it reminded me of a ski lodge cabin. We sat outside, it was chilly but they had heater lamps which warmed up the area pretty quickly. The surrounding was so beautiful, I mentioned ski lodge because the back of the restaurant on the outside where we sat was huge open space of trees and land. If only there was snow. I ordered the harley burger, best decision I ever made this year. I ordered it because it was different, it was a burger with bacon, sausage, veggies, large patty and the cheese was just oozing out. It was so good. I would definitely come back if I am ever back in the area.

Great food. The wait wasn’t too long. All staff was attentive and friendly and the food is varied and delicious. Dog-friendly on the patio. Domestic Beer on tap. Local and sustainable whenever possible. Can’t go wrong with the burger. Huevos Rancheros is great, biscuits and gravy worth the calories. We also ate some chocolate cake and icecream and now we are in a food-induced coma. The staff is always on the run, so do everyone a favor and don’t ask the waiter to split it among 4+ credit cards, split your bill using cash or Venmo or square or whatever you want afterward. Don’t be that awful human who splits their bill.

This restaurant is sorta in the middle of nowhere but it was near the Skyline hike I went on. I had some of the chicken wings which were crispy and the batter was thick. The avacado bruschetta was ok. I would rather just have an avocado and that bread haha. The garlic fries were bomb and so crunchy even though it didnt have much garlic. I had the chicken pot pie which was made fresh so there was a layer of pastry right on top. Man I was so full from everything that I couldnt barely touch the pie. Yummy still! Everyone here is friendly and attentive so I appreciated it. It was like one of those cabin restaurants in Tahoe or something.

«You can get anything… at Alice’s restaurant» is their slogan in this cozy dive spot in the mountains off of Skyline BLVD. We happened to come here after driving all morning through the mountains craving some brunch food. Alice’s is a place for motorcyclists, families, entrepreneurs, writers, nice car enthusiasts, and just about everyone to come to in a dive spot that comes at the middle of some major roads in the mountains. They pride themselves as serving sustainable local organic food, helping out local businesses, and giving the best service to their patrons. For breakfast I ordered the eggs benedict which were divine, soft, and not overbearing, it was just the right amount. But I really think the atmosphere adds to the overall vibe and experience you have. It’s a cozy mountain cabin feel and everyone is super friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast as we watched groups of motorcyclists, nice cars, and all sorts of people show up to this dive spot. Even though we had a problem with a charge on our bill, I’ll let it slide because we had such great morning. After eating we went outside and took in the scenery and had some photos of the nice cars that were in the lot. If I am ever back in the area, you can bet I am coming back here to get more food and support the local business.

There’s nothing I want more than after a day in the sun than a large juicy burger. There was really no correlation to that, but I did want something meat-y after a day at the beach. Upon the waiter’s recommendation, I got the ½ lb Wagyu Beef Burger. Sadly, the burger was just okay. The patty wasn’t super tender and melt in your mouth like wagyu beef usually is and it didn’t have much flavor as well. I don’t like American condiments so thank goodness for black pepper. With it was just the typical lettuce tomato and onion which were good. Overall, I like the atmosphere of this place. It has a lot of space, a slot of out door seating and open windows for those sitting in side as well. There’s also a lawn area with picnic tables on the side if you’re into that as well. Overall, I thought the burger was just okay though.

I get that Alice’s is basically an institution in Woodside but would I go back… probably not? The food was ok– quite honestly not worth the drive up windy woodside road. I liked the pumpkin pancake but that I can get all over the place this time of year and there was nothing special about my eggs and toast. The prices were fair but there’s nothing super unique about this place or something that would draw me back soon.

This place was PACKED on a Sunday! We got here around one and had to wait an hour. Sadly, we missed the cutoff for breakfast(2pm) and had to settle on the lunch menu. I ordered the portobello mushroom burger and it was really delicious! I normally don’t order mushroom burgers, but somehow I just decided to try it this day. It was pretty filling and the large slices of mushrooms were so tasty. The parking lot is packed with people and motorcycles. While we waited we walked around the restaurant and there was a grassy area in the back where lots of kids played. It also seem like there were horse trails… so much nature everywhere! It’s such a neighborhood-y place where the atmosphere is relaxed and casual. The patio is full of wooden long picnic tables and adds to that vibe. It’s definitely a drive to get here, but a nice scenic drive.

I’ve been to Alice’s a few times more than I’ve checked in. I really enjoy the atmosphere here, you can’t beat the drive to get here, and they’ve got some really nice quality food. If breakfast is your thing, they serve it all the way until 2PM. If burgers are your thing, they’ve got a sweet selection motorcycle themed variants. If sitting at your own table is your thing… well, don’t come at a busy time. There’s often a long line here, but it’s for a reason. They’re consistently good, and if you can find a spot to park amidst the motorcycles, it’s well worth the wait. Even after that wait, you might end up sitting at a picnic table with a few strangers, but the cool thing is that Alice’s attracts people from all over, and there’s some really neat community vibes here. So, maybe relax your comfort zone a little and soak up some of the almost small town feel. Pro tip: Don’t miss Methuselah, an old growth redwood tree a few minutes north of Alice’s on Skyline. It’s one of the oldest trees in the area and easily twice as big around as the«babies» you see up in Muir woods.

So glad, for us lazy folk who just cannot wake up early, that Alice’s serves breakfast well into the day(until 2pm). We arrived to a pretty buzzing restaurant at 1:30, and were told that we would have a wait of 20 minutes. We actually only waited for about 5 minutes, after being asked if we minded sharing a table. We didn’t mind. Waitress #1 brought us drink orders(water), and waitress #2 took our food orders about 5 minutes later. We ordered two breakfast dishes to split: — Banana Bread French Toast(4⁄5): four small-ish slices with butter if you’d like to add it, and syrup available. Really good flavor, but wish it had more egg to be crispier. Docked a star because the plating was pretty sad. Maybe throw in some banana slices? — Redneck Benedict(4⁄5): bacon and poached eggs on an open faced biscuit with white sausage gravy. Really yummy, and the savory paired well with the sweet french toast. Docked a star because the biscuit was dry. I’ve docked a star overall because we never got refills on our water. Maybe a breakdown in responsibilities between waitresses. Overall really great food, nice ambiance, tastefully decorated for Fall. I think its location would always keep it busy — intersection of 3 busy roads to keep it a frequent stop for bikers. Thank you Come Again? Yep! And I’ll try the interesting hot cocktails next time(Mexican Coffee!)

Hello NorCal!!! Just came back from having lunch at Alices. Been coming here this year with my bf who loves riding his motorcycle to have lunch here on the weekends. Perfect for car, motorcycle and dog owners. Great outdoor patio which is also dog friendly. My bf always orders the kale salad and hot dog. I usually rotate with one of their burgers. Don’t forget their garlic fries. Lots of action going on in the parking lot. If you love cars and motorcycles then this is a great spot to ride to and have lunch. I’m a fan of this place. Remember Mr. Rogers? Of course, right? The«…please won’t you be my neighbor?» Mr. Rogers? He used to own this place. His daughter still works here. So in addition to being the iconic biker restaurant, there’s that. The Mr. Rogers & Harley Davidson connection. Pretty cool. Having driven by here numerous times, I finally stopped & experienced Alice’s. Idyllically set in Woodside amongst the redwoods & the pines, it’s an easy break from city life. Breathe that in. The air is just better out here. There are A LOT of bikes. If I had a motorcycle, I’d come here too. It was Labor Day, so it was packed. But I think it’s always packed. Check in w the hostess, get your buzzer, & breathe in more of that magical clean mountain air. We only had to wait about 15 minutes. And we scored a patio table. Of course I ordered a burger. It was the apropos thing to do. And of course my man ordered a burger, since he always copies me. JK They use only the best beef, & this is why a burger here is basically a requisite. The BMW Burger… Bacon, Mushrooms, Worcestershire. It was delicious. But the Wagyu Burger beat it. Nice & juicy, it more than satisfied my hunger, my craving, & my expectations. Outstanding? Maybe not. Delicious? Yes. A burger comes w a bag of chips. The french fries are extra. They were ok. Just ok. The service was friendly, but omg it took over 30 minutes to get our order. !!! More than solid. 4 stars.

I GOTTHEBLOODYMARY! Last time, I didn’t order it for the sake of not being the only one drinking, and it was getting delivered to every person around us — of course! Well, it was worth the wait. That thing is delicious. I hadn’t had much luck with them in the Bay Area yet, but the Bloody here delivered. I got the Grilled Ham and Cheese sandwich again, and it was just okay this time. About half as many people as my last visit, and it still took as long to make(over an hour… for a sandwich). Luckily, I had good company. Cliff Notes: Get a Bloody Mary + Bring good people(s) = Couple hours of happiness

Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Cleanliness: 4.5 I am sentimental about this place. If it ever changed too much or disappeared I think I might get teary-eyed. It’s practically a monument in the Redwoods down here in the Peninsula and towards the coast. If I have guests in town, I take them here and show them the vast Sequoia and Redwood trees driving them through the crazy windy roads on the way to and from Alice’s. The restaurant is often overloaded with customers on the weekends, but all the times I’ve been here, I have rarely waited more than ten minutes to be seated. I suppose my urge to get cooler temperatures and a break from what often seems like an eternal California sunshine, seems to end up at the most opportune times to dine here. The waitstaff has often been sweet and helpful. At the same time, missing little details here and there, for a pickier diner like me, that makes annoying requests like lemon in my water with no ice and so on. Sometimes, they may even bring you a spare sweet potato fries on accident if you’re nice, or at least sike you out with almost bringing them to meet your tabletop, but then not. The place is clean, as it can be… it’s been around a while and half the seating areas are semi-indoors and/or completely outdoors, so having a pep talk with nature to behave pre-dining experience is pretty much impossible. Other than that, they keep it tidy, and try to bus your tables before you sit, in between the madness. I can only remember getting the same thing off the menu every time I’ve come… over the course of a few years. The turkey burger with a side of sweet potato fries. This last visit was special; I don’t think I have had a burger and fries since last year(at least December, maybe longer) and it’s already July. The food experience was extra satisfying after obstaining for so long, my perception of the food may be a little skewed(be warned). I could barely stop eating it, cooked to perfection, juicy yet crisp in all the right places, I stuffed my face to oblivion, still leaving at least a quarter of the burger left(it’s huge). The sweet potato fries are like soft, bright orange candy, served with some spicy, creamy mayo type sauce on the side. I’m sure I got my fill of calories for the day, but let me tell you, every bite was worth it. I don’t know if I could ever become some kind of regular here…(uh– oh, what would that look like?), but I can for sure tell you, that I will definitely be back. It’s a must-stop, must-see if you’re ever in the area! Enjoy.

Tried out Alice’s Restaurant after hiking at Portola Redwood SP on Sat 7÷11÷15. Seat yourself, we got a table outside on the patio. It can be sunny even with umbrella so bring a hat, and can be cold there, need jacket maybe. Ask for water, we had a guy bring drinks, then had to wait for waitress to take our order. Slow service here. Tried the Devil’s Canyon rootbeer $ 3.25. Tasted like any other rootbeer I’ve tried, not special at all. Made in San Carlos, that’s about it. Free refills. Iced tea — looked fine, free refills. Tried peach pie w/ice cream I wanted on the side $ 8.70 for both. Huge slice of peach pie, too bad the pie tasted like mush and nothing special and lots of whipped cream, I avoided that. Ice cream was vanilla and I liked that. Jalopy burger $ 10.75 — friend said it tasted different from when he tried it last. Club sandwich $ 10.50 — I got to try a bit, and I liked it fine. Better that I didn’t have to pay for it, but it was pretty good. Lots of turkey and bacon, tomato, lettuce, on white bread. Mahi salad $ 12.75 — friend got and seemed to like it, though he didn’t eat everything. Hmm, why not, didn’t ask. Chocolate molten cake $ 6.95 — looked ok, friend ate it all. We paid cash, think they take cards.
