Food super salty and mediocre, the beer was warm, the service so, so. needless to say im never going back to this place.

Food was terrible. Took forever to arrive and arrived cold. The breakfast is better at corner delis than this place. Waste of time and money.

I live in the neighborhood but don’t usually eat around here but I came in for a late breakfast today. I instantly fell in love with the décor and ambiance. Beautiful dark wood with red leather and white marble and accent brick walls. Service was nice and quick which is always good when your hungry! I ordered Eggs Benedict with cheese and French fries and my boyfriend ordered steak and eggs. Well his steak looked OK from where I was sitting. He loves meat so he said it wasn’t bad. I’ve had better eggs Benedict. Not bad at all, I just wish my yolk was a little more runny. I wish the fries had some sort of seasoning or herb on them, I feel like that would add a major extra touch to the dish. We also shared banana nut pancakes. A little flat but overall pretty good.

A sweet little place right in front of the bus stop. They renovated and it looks better than ever. I love the atmosphere — but it’s not always full. I’ve come at different times during the day and i have yet to see it run at full capacity.
The service here is friendly. I felt welcomed and the food came out in a timely manner. Had a nice portion of chips with a coffee and read my book.

You guys really need to know the exact meaning of newari food !

The boy and girl should focus on your job rather than talking with each other for whole time and it’s ridiculous !

Got out of work and was feeling a little hungry. Saw this place and decided to get food there. I was standing by the door for about 10 – 15 mins. No one seated me. I didn’t see any wait staff. There were 2 people by the bar and they saw me when I walked in. They didn’t bother to help with the seating situation. I asked them eventually do I just sit wherever I want. They looked at me for a sec and then looked away. That’s when I decided not to spend my hard earning $$$ at a place like this where you can’t even get properly seated at an empty restaurant!

Ohh man! If you want authentic Newari-​Nepali food you have to give this place a try. A bit spicy for my palate but once you push your limit, you’ll thank yourself.
We went there with four of our friends and we gorged on appetizers alone. We ate so much we didn’t have to order entrées. We got our bellies stuffed literally! I was full till the next day.
If you can’t handle the spciy, ask them to tone it down a bit. You won’t be disappointed with this place.

This review makes me sad I ate here once before and the food was good but the service was slow. I waitressed for years so i know how restaurants are run and I understand when its busy giving people their checks takes back seat and things take longer … That being said wholly shit this service was awful. We waited over 45 minutes for sandwiches that never came. They have not sectioned their resturant so people have tables all over. There’s no rhyme or reason to their system. They never check up on customers. You’ll be dead before you get your check which is what happened last time to me. This time I didn’t even get that far. The food never came and when we asked the server (maybe they have no uniform and aren’t wearing non-​slips) he shrugged and when we said we were going to leave he was like ok. NEVER in my 5+ years as a server busser or cashier would that have been an acceptable response. That would’ve gotten me canned but I regress. The short of it is the service is garbage but if you want to learn how to run a resturant feel free to contact me!

My friend and I both Indians stopped here recently for breakfast to take a break from a long bike ride. On many a Sunday we stopped by to use the restrooms but always said we would come back some day for breakfast or brunch – so on one fine Sunday… we did, my friend asked for a patio table but we were refused by the host who said they were all reserved for parties of four – even though most of the tables in the patio area were unoccupied and it was fairly early in the morning for the usual Sunday crowd. It gets worse, we were seated inside the café near the kitchen where we were able to see parties of two being led out to the patio all morning. Needless to say, its back to being our pitstop!

We used to live in Woodside and would eat here every weekend. The food was always consistent, friendly staff, but on the smaller side as places to eat go.
We came back recently since we were at No Las hair salon that day anyway.
Talk about a major remodel! Easily doubled in size. All new tables and booths, paint, lighting, restrooms, etc. same waitress we remembered tho.
The brunch menu was respectable and does come with a drink. Portions are still fairly generous, tho prices did go up. It’s still a perfectly respectable choice if in this area, tho it depends on if you’re after diner type grub or pub grub. For pub style, I say go to Cuckoo’s Nest a few doors up the block.

I had to update this review to a 2star place because I sat and waited for service for 20min and got nothing not even a menu! So my boyfriend and I went next door to eat at the Cuckoos Nest

My husband and I saw this nice looking café and saw that their menu looked decent. First time coming to this café and there was no one seating us. My husband and I waited for 3 minutes until there was a waitress that told us we can sit anywhere.
The café/​restaurant of the atmosphere looks modern, slick and relaxing. The service was slow. They have enough staff but REALLY slow. We waited over 30 minutes for our food to come. My husband ordered potato skin with sour cream for appetizer, woodside burger with two inch fries and pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries.
The potato skin only had 4 pieces and the presentation of that dish was sloppy. It’s quite expensive for $ 7.50. The woodside burger was horrible. The burger meat was cooked well-​done when we asked for medium well. The onions on the burger were not caramelized and it didn’t have any flavor. The pulled pork sandwich had coleslaw– no taste and lots of BBQ sauce with the pulled pork. The bread with the pulled pork was cold.
The food quality wasn’t great at all and expensive. It was really disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. The food either had too much flavor or no flavor at all. The only thing that I like from the Woodside Café was the Irish Tea.
After giving the money to one of the staff, they didn’t say anything to us. We were disgusted by their mannerisms. They definitely need training and new management. Very unprofessional!

Formerly cozy mom-​and-​pop style diner got renovated to have more of a café/​sports bar vibe. Not complaining about better views and bathrooms, though.
I’ve had the chicken panini and the pulled pork sliders — both were good. Service quality varies depending on who you get and the mood of the server.

The food is very good when it is hot. I have had dishes that were sitting out and by the time I got it was cold. The service is mediocre. The wait staff not very attentive.

What a terrible experience, I came with my friend friday evening the server was not warm at all, she was on her cellphone and did not bother asking us for anything when both of us were waiting for soda pop refills. My friend ordered salad and an entrée. Isn’t it common sense to give the salad first (eat it) then send out the entrée? Unbelievable! The neighborhood is a great Irish establishment and this restaurant cut out the list, so dissapointed. I’ll never come back here.

Super laid back café/​restaurant with great comfort food options. The owners and staff are nice and helpful. The music can get a little loud, but I highly recommend this place for a night where you just feel to lazy to cook. Fast, nice neighborhood spot, good prices– you can’t go wrong if you’re looking for an average dinner with a chill atmosphere.

In terms of atmosphere, it’s great — a shadowy calm diner off to the side. But, the menu is not especially impressive, and the prices even less so. For actual food, you can do way better for your money in this neighborhood.
Edit: This diner has been completely refurbished into a much larger space. The food, prices, and service are still not great.

On my way home while waiting for the bus I found this place. I sat at the bar and the bartender/​waitress (Christine) was very friendly. She recommended their blackened chicken sandwich. It was good but not great. They didn’t season the food all that well. However, it wasn’t bad. I tried one of their wraps before and that was pretty good. I enjoyed the conversation and the décor seemed welcoming. I plan to visit again soon to try other menu items. Honestly I would give this place a solid 3 stars based on the food alone. The welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff just made the visit even more enjoyable.

I’ve been going here for years, before the name was changed to Woodside Café. The girls that work here are great always very nice. I order from here a lot. Always pretty quick with delivery and always get my order right!

This place is average. I used to come here since it’s near my boyfriend’s house but we stopped coming because the food quality worsened. I used to order the chicken quesadilla and penne a la vodka but it was much too overpriced for the quality of the meal. I don’t remember anything remarkable about this café.
