Quinsigamond State Park

I don’t get here very often as I don’t work in the city anymore.
I used to love hanging out here. Not sure what it’s like here on the weekends but during the week it’s fairly quiet. I’d either park under a shady tree for a lunch time nap or have lunch at one of the picnic benches. For the sun lovers out there, there is a beach here. It’s not the ocean beaches I grew up with, but a nice little piece of heaven for a city no where close to one.

Lake Quinsigamond (also Long Pond) is a body of water situated between the city of Worcester and the town of Shrewsbury in Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA. It is 4 miles (6 km) long, between 50 and 85 feet (15 and 26 m) deep, and has a surface area of approximately 772 acres.
We came by on a dreary day for the EARC Sprints, which are held within the park at and around Regatta Point annually. The Park was closed to «the public» (unless said public wanted to proffer $ 10 admission) but you could view the races from the bridge near the finish line, where spectators with cameras dotted the sign-​studded overpass. The place was in good shape overall, boasting some nice slopes and a boathouse with restrooms, but I found the lack of concessions a bit perplexing (though far from infuriating).
