Still & Stir Cocktail Bar

So this bar has great classic drinks, but these bar tenders are the worst. One young bartender who loves himself takes about 15 minutes to hand you a beer. The other guy who’s a big goon can barely remember your order. So go here if you have about 5 hours to spare while you wait for a drink.

This bar has a very cool ambience with a good cocktail menu. Unfortunately, the bartenders are unknowledgeable and confrontational. I walked in and asked for a «traditional Manhattan with the best bourbon you had,» and was handed a cocktail tasting overpoweringly of orange and with rye whisky. The bartender argued this is how Manhattans were made, and I payed $ 26 for a cocktail I didn’t order (no refund).

Sure, they make a good cocktails. Sure, it’s a neat atmosphere with old jail cells. However, their bartenders are immature and looking to start trouble. You’re better off buying some quality alcohol and making your own drinks at home with friends and without the drama. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to be able to come here if they hired different bartenders, but right now, my multiple negative experiences with Sonny make me never want to come back.
Reading other experiences, perhaps this is more true for women who visit than men. But ladies, keep an eye out for this one. If you’re looking for a hassle-​free night, this is not your bar — and that’s not for the clientele, but for the bartenders.

A very nice bar. The few drinks I’ve had there have been well made and the bar tender was very friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely a nice place to grab a fancy drink.

I’m not sure how I didn’t hear about this place sooner. Its definitely a well kept secret of Worcester that’s in a great location. The bar tender Teddy was extremely friendly and made awesome drinks. The atmosphere is great for a cocktail with only fresh ingredients and great quality spirits. I highly recommend checking this place out as a new experience and I will definitely be returning!

Let me start off with the good: The bartenders are great, friendly, wanting to help you choose a great cocktail to complement your evening. A guy came in to this place and ordered a Bud light last night. The bartenders didn’t bat an eye and served him with a smile, but I was judging him! The menu is great, separated drink categories of the base alcohol of the drink. And there were at least four pages worth of libation goodness. Anything from Mezcal to Gin, to Vodka, wine as well as beer. The atmosphere is pretty cool being a old jail cell block, there is history to this place and a cool architecture.
Here’s where I am going to get picky (i.e. the not so good): It looks like the owners missed an opportunity here in making this a really really cool speakeasy. They just added a new coat of paint, put some alcohol in the back and hired some great mixologists and hope that it’s enough. Now it was my first time here last night, so I don’t know how busy it gets, but on a Saturday night at 11 p.m., you’d think this place would be hopping, it was fairly busy, but not that much. So I would make the atmosphere better. Hang some curtains, put some candles out, add some comfortable seating, couches, leather chairs and make it more intimate, almost make it a secret hangout for people. There’s cigar smoke wafting in the air that adds this cool touch to the environment, but aside from some high chairs at the bar and a few high chairs in the middle, not much place to get comfortable while sitting. The cocktails are too complex and high class compared to the lack of decorated space. They would get that extra star if they went in that direction. I’m pretty sure this is Worcester’s only establishment of this sort, so it’s pretty good already, so go there to enjoy a different fun craft cocktail. You won’t be disappointed.

Best cocktails bar in the area. Selection is great & bar staff is very friendly. Kitchen is open until midnight. We enjoyed a charcuterie plate –we were very pleased with it & it’s accompaniments. Great place for couples or groups.

I went to the still & stir a few weeks ago for a friends birthday. We had a blast!
The atmosphere is amazing. It felt like we were in prohibition time.
At the end of out night, the group (8 of us) did a shot with the bartender. Awesome!
I forget the bartenders name, but he was amazing! I watched him make drinks all night like a pro!
It’s an excellent date spot. I will def make my husband take me back ;)

This is a fantastic bar if you really love cocktails. The bartenders are all extremely friendly and great to talk to. They know a lot about their work, and they’re very impressive to watch. I could watch videos of these guys making cocktails and be entertained all day.

It’s a great bar and has an awesome selection of spirits. The bartenders were very knowledgeable which is rather rare in this day and age. The drinks were priced on par with similar establishments, $ 10 – 15 per drink.
I took 1 star off for being so close to the cigar bar (the odor is apparent and you have to walk through it); and 1 star for the temperature of the bar. We went on a very cold January night and the bar was around 50 degrees. Our entire party had to wear their coats the whole time. There was an obvious draft from the back of the house, but the bartenders said there was nothing they could do.
I will likely be returning, but in a warmer month.

Still and stir is a great classic cocktails bar. Every cocktail is perfectly balanced, and the bartenders know how to complement and enhance the flavor of the liquor without overpowering the essence of the drink. For drinks, try a manhattan if you like bourbon or a martini if you preference gin or vodka. I like sitting at the bar for the experience and ordering food from the Citizen Wine bar menu. I highly recommend the American Chop Suey (a pasta bolognese), the burgers, the bacon popcorn.
