i was in Worcester for pleasure. I needed a quick good place to eat. The reviews were good and the hotel recommended it. It was definitely friendly and neighborly. I got my appetizer of clam chowder. I was expecting really good chowder because I am in MA, but the clams didnt taste very good and it just wasnt what I was expecting. Then i ordered Lobster pie which came with butternut squash as my side.. The lobster was dry and the whole thing just wasnt put together nicely. It was dry lobster with cracker crumbs thrown on top. I just didnt enjoy this. I took a piece of Kentucky pie to go and that was ok. Nothing blew me away. I gave it 3 stars because of the niceness of the staff. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. But this time of year, lobster should taste fresh and awesome.

Tweeds has a lot of character, love this place. The best part of this place is the bar seats, so comfortable. Friendly service, Thursday night trivia. Good popcorn for starter. Irish feng shui adorning the walls. Good turkey dinner on Sunday. Brian is the best cook ever! ;) … What more could a person ask for?

I just got home from dinner here with my hubby. Waitress was cute, sweet, and alert. My hubbys steak was amazing. My lobster not overcooked. But HUGEDOWNFALL were those famous steamers they advertise. I ordered the lobster and steamers, was so excited when i saw how many there were, and litererally after six of them i had to give up PRAYING they werent filled with hard gritty sand. Yuckkk!!! What a dissapointment. Had to let her take practically whole bowl away of a bunch left, for i was getting disgusted. Ive ate steamers my WHOLE life NEVER ate as much dirt as I did today. Extremley disappointed. Left me still hungry after the small tiny lobster i had with them, so i ate my hubbys wonderful steak with him. Please attend to your clams properly, washing, soaking in salt water overnight before serving to your customers. Jeeshhh!

I’d give them 5, but there aren’t too many vegetarian options. With that said, they have friendly service, fresh popcorn while you wait, an extensive menu, and decent prices. My go-to is the greek salad. HUGE portion. My friends go for the specials & fajitas. I’m pretty much a regular.

Good service, out favorite(onion soup) wasn’t the hottest, I enjoy the taco salad and both chicken and chili met my standards. My wife loves burgers, always enjoyed them there and well done as she orders.

Has that neighborhood bar feel, which I like. Unfortunately, the food was nothing memorable. My burger was fine, but you can get better food at Five Guys. Don’t order a salad here, let’s just say its not their specialty. The beer selection is also mediocre, something from Goose Island being the only thing I was inclined to order(Seriously, every bar in Worcester should at least have one Wormtown tap).

I hangout at this place all the time because 1– I win at keno there and 2– half price apps during the week. Fajitas and prime rib are my top two dinner choices or fried chicken dinner. Sometimes service is dicey but it’s a neighborhood joint and you get used to it.

I grew up in the Worcester area and went back here recently when I was home for my niece’s baptism. I’ve been going here since I was a kid in the eighties. This place harkens back to a time when not every casual restaurant was attached to a national chain. The staff is extremely nice & helpful and many seem to have been working there for years. The boneless buffalo wings are as good as you’ll find anywhere. Tender white meat with just the right amount of «kick» in the sauce. The blue cheese acting as a nice off-setting taste. Some of my go-to entrees there include the chicken taco salad which is a salad stuffed inside a HUGE taco shell. Lettuce covered in shredded cheese, a variety of vegetables, and salsa along with a solid helping of grilled chicken. Another entrée that I really like there is the sizzling Montréal steak tips. They come out on this sizzling platter covered on top of sauteed mushrooms & onions. I suggest ordering your tips a temp below how you would normally order meat. This place also has a TON of fresh seafood. The lobster roll in the summer time is one of my favorites since I really don’t get the same quality of fresh seafood out in the Midwest. The fried clams platter comes with clams overflowing the plate! This place has been reliable for me & my family for a couple of decades now. They must be doing something right to be around that long in the restaurant world. I definitely recommend it.

So very bad. Everything seemed so off as we walked in. It was a weeknight and the place was empty at 7pm. The staff really wanted to be somewhere else … and who can blame them. The chowder tasted starchy. Fish & chops were crazy greasy. My wife’s dinner was even worse. Mashed potatoes were a mound of goop, and if you can’t make mashed potatoes you’ve got no business in the kitchen. I decided to give Tweed’s a 2nd chance and went back for the steak fajitas. I was asked how I’d like the sirloin cooked — medium rare — but it didn’t really matter … they came over-cooked and rubbery. Served on a greasy pile of onions and a few bits of green pepper. The flour tortillas were right out of the bag. Horrible. I’m guessing that they were very good once but those days are gone.

I really want to say that I enjoyed Tweeds but the only thing I can compliment is the waitress’s attentive service. This was the first time I’ve gone to Tweeds and I have to sadly say that it will be my absolute last. I ordered the Sunday special of prime rib with sizzlin mushrooms and onions. Maybe I misinterpreted what this was, but I had no clue I was being brought a sizzling fajita plate filled with onions and mushrooms, with a thin slice of prime rib on top. I ordered mashed potatoes with this — I absolutely love mashed potatoes. Let’s just say that I could’ve put this meal together at home. I can’t say that I actually received real prime rib, and the mashed potatoes were definitely not homemade. This disgusts me. Neither the prime rib or the potatoes had any flavor, which was sad. It disappoints me when I go out for a meal that I could’ve made at home for less money and better flavor. I typically go out for dinner when I want to experience good food made from a chef. This meal took no talent whatsoever. So why two stars? The service was great, we were seated right away, and our waitress made sure to get our order in quickly and made sure to come back to see how the meals were. Unfortunately I lied and said that the food was good — I don’t typically send food back after seeing the movie«Waiting». So I’ll just avoid this place altogether and let others know to do the same.

Food was good. We had prime rib, steamers, lobster, French Onion soup and clam chowder in the bread bowl. The service wasn’t the best. I wouldn’t say its a spot I would go to any time soon. Nothing wrong with it but nothing stood out either.

A friend and myself went for dinner, ordered the lobster n clams and ribs n clams, 2 beers n 2 lemon drop shot. They charged us for 2 Martini’s. I asked for the«manager/bartender» as he approached us he asked, «what do you need money??!» Excuse me? What a make chauvinistic pig!!! Learn how to have customer service skills, MIKE… Your a looser. You were wrong n ill never return to your establishment again.

My son lives in Worcester, and I’ve only been here a couple of times, but I like this place. Comfy, cozy, good service, well made cocktails, decent food, and reasonable prices. A pub where you can find something for everyone. Maybe not a foodies delight, but what they do, they do it well.

Ate here once and it was ok, being seated took a while which was odd because there were open tables but no one paying attention to the door. The staff seems to cater to the people who are at the bar or near the bar. So if you aren’t there to drink, expect slow service. I had a burger and my mate had a salad. The food is typical pub quality nothing to write home about but doesn’t taste bad either. Attempted to go a second time but felt as if we dodged a bullet that time. We were waiting to be seated and encountered two extremely loud guys, one sitting at the bar and one sitting in the dining area. It was like they were competing for the«Who could be the most obnoxious loud, guy in the place» award. This time we were thankful for the long waiting to be seated, wait. We ended up leaving because we didn’t want to deal with having to shout over the ear drum bursting duo, just so we could have a conversation. Chances are we will go back but if the place is loud then we will turn around and go else where.

My mother and I had lunch here today. We started with garlic bread for an app and it was great. My mother got steak tips and I got a burger. They were both tasty. Our server was good until we asked for the check and she took my mothers food without asking if she wanted it wrapped and threw it away before we had the chance to ask for a box. She had more than half leftover, so that was a waste of $ 12. Otherwise it was good, but the service could have been better.

Found tweeds while attending the Summer nationals in Worcester and burgers were very good, service was decent and prices weren’t bad at all. I’d go back if the opportunity presented itself.

The Buffalo chicken salad was yummy but not enough lettuce. Food was slow. Potato skins were also tasty. If you order Monday –Friday 4 – 6 appetizers are half off(even on a holiday). Waitstaff was attentive and friendly.

Tweeds, when they were in Northborough, was our favorite steamers place. They are now located in Worcester but it was worth driving there for another taste of the delightful little steamers! They have a great oreo cookie sundae for desert also!
