I was really impressed by the food and the service here. If you’re looking for a solid neighborhood restaurant, this is it. I ordered a bunch of appetizers and was impressed by all of them. Large portions and good prices. The waitstaff was also top notch — very attentive. I would definitely go back here!

Read some of the reports, and was skeptical about going; should not have been. Service was exceptional, food was great(had haddock tarrator with asparagus, my wife had baked haddock). Place was clean and pleasing. I would recommend this to anyone. Will definitely go back when in Worcester.

I haven’t been to this restaurant in decades, but was told that one of their chefs used to cook at the old El Morocco. I was craving an authentic antipasto. So I ordered theirs to go along with a few other items. I got home and found that this antipasto was a container of lettuce with a few sliced cucumbers, tomatoes and olives, 2 pepperoncini, and minimal extremely thin sliced onions. As to the meats, there was sliced ham and salami, along with provolone cheese and some pepperoni. But what caused me to give this restaurant such a low rating, was that there was no salad dressing on the antipasto. I called the restaurant back and told them that the dressing was missing and was told that it wasn’t supposed to have dressing. WHAT??? An antipasto that doesn’t have a seasoned oil and vinegar dressing on it? The man on the phone told me that he hadn’t taken my order but I should have been asked what kind of dressing I wanted. I told him it was an Italian antipasto. They are supposed to have a type of Italian dressing on them. He disagreed and said that their customers order all kinds of salad dressings with it. He said if I wanted to come back down they could give me some dressing. I told him that if they couldn’t give me an authentic dressing for the salad, then I would just use my own. I am so disgusted! My local pizza places have much better Italian meat salads/antipastos than this more expensive restaurant sold me. AND they include a great Italian dressing. Honestly, I don’t think I will be returning to this restaurant and I wouldn’t recommend it. It is due to a mixture of the attitude of them saying that the salad doesn’t come with dressing, and that they should have asked me if I wanted any(the chef could have defaulted with Italian or asked to have someone call me). It is also due to what the salad looked like and included. I can’t believe they charged me $ 11 for this so-called Antipasto for Two. And their menu describes it as «An Italian classic with all the fixings!!» Ham, salami, pepperoni and provolone and lettuce? Is that what they consider all the fixings? They made it sound special. And an Italian«classic» would have automatically included an original Italian dressing on it. Check out my photos.

First time here & we’ll be back!!! Wicked AWESOME Food & Service!!! Gloria is SUPAHSWEET!!! Nice atmosphere for a restaurant that’s been here for 30 years & clean, too!!! We forgot to take pics but if you love seafood, start with the Mussels Angelina and end with the Seafood Diablo and you will not be disappointed.

This is the kind of place that was all over the place in the 50’s and 60’s. Good, Cheap comfort food. You should try it for a decent meal for the family!

Food was fresh and good. But we were shocked. In fact, we almost got up to leave. Décor was horrible! Smelled like a nursing home! Service was very very casual but sweet

Great portions for the price. Easy to find and value in the prices. They give large portions and good food.

I’ve been here a few times and was pleasantly surprised. Our waitress was very nice and personable. The food was fresh and good. The place itself is a tad dated but the food and service quickly make up for that. It does have a family feel to it.

I use to love the wexford would always go the the prime rib. This past saturday i was so disappointed with the prime rib as usally i get it medium rare. I had to send it back twice it was cooked med to done not pink/red at all. Told the bartendars who agreed asked what else i would like and went with the stuffed shrimp but it wasn’t what i went for. My partner had finsihed his meal which he didnt like it was too over cooked for him and didnt eat it all while i was still waiting for my meal so i eat my meal alone as he was already done. I asked the bartender if he was going to take my meal off which they all agreed should of been done. He asked the owners wife Ann who absolutley wouldnt take off she gave us 2 free beers like that was going to break them. Then as we were paying for our meal the people next to us got there meal and one of them ordered the prime rib that looked so good i asked the bartender who is the Ann’s son if that a different prime rib and he said yes i couldnt believe they would not give me a cut from the other rib. The restaurant is going thru changes and for the worse. They dont care about there patrons who keep them in business. I will never return back again. It would also help if Ann and her son could SMILE!!! The buzz going around that place is terrbile alot of customer who go all the time are so unhappy. GOODLUCKWEXFORD!!!

This restaurant baffles me. The food is really delicious, the prices are reasonable. If this review were based on food alone I would give it a great rating, but literally everything else about this restaurant is terrible. The atmosphere is one of the worst I’ve seen, with an old-dilapidated feel that makes it seem like the owners do not care whatsoever. I always feel like I get a little trashier as soon as I walk in, as most of the waitstaff and clientele give off that vibe. I once asked what they had for beer, was told they had«pretty much everything» but it turned out that meant bud, miller, coors, and their respective light versions. Oh, and Heineken. Woo! They were recently putting on an addition which I thought would resolve these issues, but the atmosphere in there is just as bad. I’m not sure if they do take out, but I’d like to find out as this would be a perfect take out menu. However, definitely don’t bring anyone here if you’re trying to impress…

Another favorite of mine. Great value and tasty food! Stopped by for dinner tonight and had the baked haddock, which was very good. Had red bliss potatoes, and butternut squash with the meal. Portions were just right for my needs. Only disappointment was no free refills on the soft drinks, but the waitress did offer water as a replacement. Waitress was responsive and friendly. Place is on the small side overall, and can get packed. They did open up a new addition a month back thats adds a few more tables. Nothing special on the menu, but a good selection, great value and wholesome, tasty food. TV’s in the bar only, with a couple of Keno screens in the main dining room. Place is clean and modern looking inside, nothing fancy. A favorite of long-time Worcesterites…

This is one of my favorite restaurants… I alternate between the baked haddock and the Port Said. You also must try the portabello mushroom appetizer and the El salad.

My family and I started going to this restaturant as an alternative to the table wait the parents-weekend crowds draw on Shrewsbury Street. Truly a hidden gem, family staff, generous portions, «american”/lebanese/mediteranean old school import inspired menu. The owner’s also just installed two huge flat screens at the bar and another dining room to accomodate the massive crowds this place pulls. want to sip on a bug light bottle and play keno? wexford house. want to eat great seafood? wexford house. want to experience classic worcester? wexford house!

The Wexford House is definitely for the sexagenarian set and was very crowded and smaller than I imagined inside. There were several families here, too. Luckily, we were able to make reservations for six people. We had a really nice waitress who told us a few dishes not to order(this was much appreciated) and a crazy guy who had too many drinks tell our table some jokes(he wasn’t being paid either). I was skeptical about keno because those places aren’t the most respectable, but what the hell, it was okay. Anyway, there were six of us and three people ordered the prime rib(all men, go figure). FYI, the prime rib is only offered on Fridays and Saturdays. I tried my husband’s, which was medium rare and perfectly cooked and excellent. Also, the queen cut for $ 14.99 with two sides was a huge dish. I wondered what the king size would look like!!! My mom ordered stuffed shrimp, which I also tried and that was good, too. My mother-in-law had the chicken parmesan, which I did not try, but it was also a large portion. Personally, I had a hard time deciding from the American style menu, but ended up with the stuffed pork tenderloin. This was stuffed with sausage, spinach, and had some kind of a thin cranberry glaze on it. The pork was a little overcooked and a bit chewy for my taste, but the stuffing and sauce were good. I had green beans with sliced almonds and butternut squash for my sides. The green beans were good, but I’ve had better squash(this is one of my fave foods though, so I have to order it every time I see it). Overall, I think the prices and the food are pretty good here. Again, if you’re expecting a hip place on Shrewsbury Street, this is not the place to go(unless you want a replacement hip, haha), but if you want good New England/American cuisine, try the Wexford.
