I ordered the Saag Paneer and Butter Chicken one night for takeout. The Saag Paneer was pretty good. However, when I opened the container of Butter Chicken, it was nothing more than a watery broth of chick peas! $ 14 for a watery chick-pea gruel? No thanks. Not coming here again.

I just called to order delivery literally less than five minutes away and my order came to $ 19.78 and they TURNEDDOWNMYORDER because they said it was a $ 20 minimum and I had to order more or they wouldnt do it. That is the most unheard of thing I have ever witnessed. I will never eat at this place again. They chose to exhibit horrible customer service and lose a customer over 22 cents.

Over priced, poor service with waiters taking forever to not only take your order but deliver food. With only 3 other table occupied on Labor Day, one would think it would take less than 25 minutes to deliver food. Then the bill came, aaaaghh! Avoid this very poor restaurant.

We used to enjoy Tiffin on Girard Ave. from time to time and were thrilled when they opened in Mt. Airy, where we used to live. Though neither was the best Indian food we’d had, we enjoyed it well enough and it was great to have Tiffin in our neighborhood. When we moved to Merion we were glad to have the Wynnewood location nearby but frankly, the food isn’t what it used to be and in the last year we have experienced a few bad meals and overheard such poor service and attitude that we decided to try another Indian restaurant that is no further from us and is prettier and has consistently tastier food and good service, all at the same prices. For some reason we decided to change it up and gave Tiffin another try a few days ago. After another disappointing experience, I decided to write a review. Before I did I checked out other reviews and after reading about cockroaches and management’s response to a customer informing them that they’d just seen a mouse run across the dining room floor, combined with our own bad experiences, you can be sure that we won’t be returning.

Food tasted good, but for the price it doesn’t even come with naan. 14 dollars for Butter Chicken that was more sauce than it was chicken. They have Mango Lassi which for some reason isn’t listed on the menu. That stuff’s pretty good but I feel like I can go out to NJ’s Pardesh Market and get most of this stuff for maybe ¾ of what I ended up paying for it and have some left over.

I was blown away when Tiffin responded to my unhappiness. I was sent an email and was made to feel as though my patronage was important. I will go back there now. I did and was totally pleased with the food and service. Thanks Tiffin for caring about your patrons!

This was my first experience at an Indian restaurant, and I can’t believe what I’ve been missing! We stopped in fairly late for a Wednesday night and were the only table there. We ordered Eggplant Chaat, some sort of chicken appetizer, Chicken Tikka Masala, Biryani Chicken, and Chili and Cheese Naan. Everything was delicious. I especially liked the sauces that came out with the appetizers and the Chili Naan. I would definitely recommend.

I find a lot of Indian places make skimpy Indian food lacking in meat/veggies and flavor. Tiffen may have a big price tag but also has great Indian food for a up scale fast food style Indian chain restaurant. I love my lamb saag and chicken tikka with garlic naan. I just find very few places get it right and they do here. It’s rich and full of flavor. Everything I have tried on there menu has been very good. I ways try an Indian place when I find one that look good. All over the world and country. I just find this place hits the spot for me. The only bad thing I can say is that they some times mess up orders. I find that’s more of a language barrier depending on who answers the phone. If you just spend the extra 30 seconds to check it over they will have it correct when it’s pick up time.

It’s pretty good. We ordered take out through Grub Hub. Ordered all our favorites: garlic nan, aloo papri chaat, saag paneer, tandoori chicken(comes with rice). They gave us the usual sauces and the extra item of the day which was lentils and it was really good. Everything was really good, just not AS good as I think Ekta is. The saag paneer isn’t as creamy. Also when I picked up my food, the guy at the counter laughed a little. Not sure why? I’m thinking it’s because I got there 30 minutes after it was ready? But who cares, I already paid for it, it could stay there all night if I wanted. They just weren’t that friendly.

We just had lunch here, the special was a good deal at 11 dollars for chicken vindaloo and came with naan and vegetable samosa. Portion was perfect, I was able to eat it all and I’m full but not uncomfortable. Samosas and naan were great, along with the chutneys. My dish was very nice, lightly spiced with tender chicken. Hubby had tikka masala which was slightly sweet for my taste but still good. Waitstaff was friendly and attentive but not clingy, and the service was fast. The place was empty except for us but had decent ambiance and the dining room and bathrooms were clean.

I’m not sure if it’s my own bad luck, but I’ve never had a moist yet still flakey samosa at any Indian restaurant I’ve been to. I’m happy to say Tiffin has changed the game up for me! Our table ordered the samosas and spicy cauliflower as appetizers, which were both flavorful and addictive. The samosas came out hot and were not dried up and overly crispy like the ones I was so used to getting. The butter paneer was alright, but I think a little too sweet for my liking. A little gripe about the setting, the place is really dim, even in the daytime because of the lights they use. Overall, Tiffin offered a pleasant dining experience with good food and a sweet and attentive staff.

Yum. Good food, good service. The prices are very reasonable. I loved the chicken tikka masala that my friend ordered, so much that I went back and got it for myself. This is definitely a place that I will go to again and again.

I have never had anything bad here. And by that I mean I’ve only ever ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala. And I’ve ordered it multiple times. It is always fresh tasting and deliciously creamy. With naan. oh man. The portion is easily sharable or take home leftoverable(my favorite lunch the next day). I’ll be honest that I don’t have much experience with Indian food so I cannot speak to the authenticity of the dish. Ambience is warm and inviting, however the dining room is small and there’s nothing to protect you from the wind when the door opens.

Average Indian restaurant that lacks the buffet. The inside is nice and the waitstaff was attentive. Prices can be high but the lunch specials are a good deal. Food here is a bit«Americanized» — not really spicy. A little«watered down» and sort of lacking that big bold flavor of Indian food. Saag Paneer was really good though.

Good ambience and service. Food was okay. Name of restaurant is Tiffin but surprisingly no indian tiffins like Idli, Vada, Dosa, Puri available. Wish they could make all these items:). May visit again.

Don’t bother there are much better places to do indian. We ordered at 4 o’clock online and requested a 5 o’clock delivery(earliest they allowed) and didn’t get our food until 6. When we called at 5:30, we were told it would be another 30 – 45 minutes that it hadn’t even left yet. Girl was rude on the phone and we told them that this was our first time ordering online and we wouldn’t be ordering again. We order Naan, saag paneer, and chicken tikka masala. Naan– meh ok not great not terrible saag paneer– ok, had a bit of an off flavor and the cheesee wasn’t cooked chicken tikka masala– nothing like what it is supposed to be, poor low quality chicken used, and didn’t taste right. Rice was overcooked Service was poor even though the delivery girl apologized it was definitely due to us saying we wouldn’t be ordering again when we called and not because there was an issue. «her manager wanted us to know they have a lot of difficulty with online orders.» well then don’t have it as an option.

I am writing a follow up to my last review indicating the mouse issue at Tiffin. The manager contacted me and assured me that there was no rodent issue at the restaurant, and that the health department had come to inspect and that most things passed and they are restructuring their management at these locations. I was offered compensation for the meal that I had to pay for that was less than enjoyable and invited to experience a meal at one of their higher end restaurants called Tashan, in Center City. It was phenomenal and the service was much better than at Tiffin, although I’m sure that will be changing soon. Head over to Tashan to read my review of that meal. +2 for excellent customer service and for knowing when they are in the wrong. It takes a lot of humility to admit you were wrong, and I can appreciate that and think that this place should be given a second shot. Happy dining!

Since Tiffin is a small chain, I am not surprised that the food varies little between this location and the Bryn Mawr one. Tiffin Wynnewood offers solid Indian food that hits the spot in a brightly colored but otherwise normal atmosphere. A surprising standout at this location was a special that I cannot remember the name of– it had lentil wafers and chickpeas, served with the white and the brown sauces on top. It was very tasty and I was really pleased with it. The only mystery about the dish was the maraschino cherry that was stuck on top… I am so confused about why it was there(then again, I really don’t like those cherries).
