Just had an early dinner here. Not busy at the time we came. When we were leaving is when the dinner rush was coming in. Smaller restaurant. Very very clean. Sunny emo was our server I think is what the receipt said. She was so good to us and gave the best service. The food was amazing. I wish I would have taken pictures. Had the bbq scallops and bbq albacore and John q roll. So delicious. Miso soup was delicious too. This is going to be our spot now because for what you pay, the quality and amount is more than expected from yuba city. Thank you sunny emo! We will definitely be back.

The sushi is fresh, delicious and cheap– but the service is terrible. I have never had an enjoyable experience with the staff and I have dined her many times. It keeps me from coming back as often as I’d like. Every time I think I will give it another chance I am sadly reminded why I go to kenzo instead.

I really do enjoy the food here but the waitress is less than hospitable. She is condescending and always appears to be bothered when we aren’t ready to order or when we ask for a refill. I stopped coming here because of the waitress(pretty petite Asian lady with the long ponytail). The other waitresses are great but I always seemed to get the waitress with the attitude. I don’t eat out much so when I do get the opportunity to eat out I don’t need to feel insulted or mistreated.

My husband and I do love the place. The two gentlemen who make the rolls are generally very kind and don’t say much. The older, female waitress has repetitively been rude. She treats you as if you are not going to pay for your food. Overall, the food is great but I would venture to stay away for the service. It takes awhile to actually get your food and we’re usually served by the same lady which I like to avoid.

There are 2 main Sushi places in town and this used to be our go to place. Last night I decided this is the last time. The past few times we have had the same waitress and she is not only Rude, but she continously tries to up sell. The last 2 times she has neglected to bring my salad, the time before that she brought my son’s soup after she served his rolls, and she told my wife she always orders a California Roll So She Needed To Order Something else. Last night she served us the wrong order and then told us she was going to have to pay for it, like it was our fault. The rolls are good, but they have been getting smaller and now the service will keep us from going back. Go ahead and take a chance that your experience may be better.

The bento box option is great value for money. The crispy sesame chicken is one of the many options you can choose to fill your box. The service overall was good and attentive.

Ichiban used to be the go to in Yuba & Sutter. However, they have slipped badly in recent months. This is a compilation review based on our last couple of times visiting. Rice is either over or undercooked. We have found the fish not to be fresh, period… end of story. Rolls are too loose and then drenched in sauces to hide the not so fresh fish. Very disappointing. Hopefully they ramp up their customer services as well because it has been fairly cold and unwelcoming.

Horrible service. She did not smile once until the bill came and it was time to give tips. Looked like she hated her job. The salmon was decent. The tuna was NOT fresh. It was smelly and gross. Edamame was too salty. The 1 star for the decent amount of not fresh fish they put in each roll compared to the restaurant on Plumas. Will not be back.

Ordered the fire cracker appetizer as my lunch for pickup, since it is my favorite at another sushi place. I wanted to try the sushi but the appetizer was 10.70 as a final price and I didn’t want to have a$ 20 lunch so I’ll save the sushi for another time. Lady at the register was very nice in person and over the phone; seemed quiet and slow for lunchtime on a Tuesday. They put chopsticks and napkins with my order… And it was pretty good! The jalapeño peppers seemed to be roasted before stuffed with crab mix, then fried, and put on some cabbage and drizzled with some sauce! Wasn’t spicy at first but as a slowly finished my meal it got spicier, I think it was 8 or 9 pieces. I’ll keep returning if the food quality is consistent, otherwise I’ll keep driving to rocklin/Roseville for sushi date nights.
