Stopped by around 8:30 am for breakfast. I had the huevos rancheros with steak and my husband had the ham and egg breakfast burrito. The prices were great and the food was really flavorful. They had a serve yourself chips and salsa. They offered different kinds of salsa, one was a sour cream jalapeño sauce that was really interesting. I had never seen that before. The restaurant was clean and spacious and had a varied menu. Now that I know it’s there, I would make it a point to stop in again.

Taqueria Guadalajara has been my number 1, go-to Mexican restaurant starting way back in 1998 at the Davis location. The food here(and all their locations) is simply amazing, every single time. If you love flavorful meats and the best pico de gallo ever, I recommend you try this place. I have probably had every single item on the menu, and it’s all delicious! I am such a fan that I had Taqueria Guadalajara cater my 135-person wedding this past May. They served an abundance of tacos and all the trimmings, and it was a major hit! Salvador, the owner, was super professional and accommodating throughout the whole process, and I had delicious food at my wedding!

I should’ve gone to La Unica!!! This place was nearby, I was starving, thirsty and wanted taqueria. My immediate impression was comparing prices, then the chips were not fresh, in fact it’s probable that they are purchased instead of made fresh… the tacos were mediocre, and radishes in the salsa bar had ZERO flavor(I think they were soaking in water). Bottom line, I should’ve driven 4 more minutes and gone to a better taqueria with better prices and happier faces.

Nastiest mexican food I’ve ever had! Almost as if they don’t want customers. I wouldn’t ever give it another try.

Go every Tuesday for the chili rellenos. Excellent meal and always friendly service. Very authentic flavor. Everything on the menu is good. Have taken my whole family and many friends here.

My boyfriend and I hit this place up quite often when we want Mexican that’s not Taco Bell. The food is pretty good, never been really disappointed except for one time when my flautas were too crispy and basically burnt but that was the only time I was displeased. They have a self serve salsa bar and the restaurant itself is well maintained and the décor is nice and traditional. Three stars because there’s only one cashier who seems to be welcoming and sweet, but everyone else who works there makes it very obvious that they hate it and can be pretty sour at times.

Was craving a carne asada burrito, so I decided to stop in. The burrito was dry and the asada was a bit chewy. This place used to be great a few years ago. What was worse than the burrito, was the short girl at the register taking the order. Must’ve been in a bad mood and was letting everyone know. I don’t believe«thank you» is part of her vocabulary. There are other spots in Yuba city for a burrito, and I bet they actually want your business

My husband and I ordered enchiladas and they gave us a tortilla with a tiny bit of meat and smothered it in sause so disappointed! I was not happy the portion was great for my 5 year old but I want to eat to get full not only that their prices are very high I spent 30+.00 and had to order more for my husband who also wasn’t satisfied

I ordered the super burrito and it was basically a bean and rice burrito, hardly any meat in it. It tasted very bland no flavor at all, the portion size was decent. This place is overpriced for the quality of food you get, easily the worst Mexican food I’ve had in Yuba City.

Having my weekly menudo here its ok not bad but the service was excellent and the display of salsas was great you can serve yourself with the various salsas they have to offer. Our server was great and very polite the food is fresh and hot.

Definitely not the best place in town. Food is decent portion size is not great and pricewise there probably the highest around town. I had the Al Pastor dinner and it was only okay but for $ 10 I expect a little bit more. Flavor wise it did not compare to the outlet store at places like Antonio’s or some of the other restaurants I go to in Sacramento.

I like this place… Its very convenient to grab a bite right across from the In-Shape Gym… The price of the burritos isnt that expensive, and you get alot of meat compared to chipotle… And the sauce is amazing… On the side note, I just wished there tortilla chips wasnt too stale, it tasted like its 3 days old or so and wasnt even that crunchy. =/Was disappointed at that, considering I love tortilla chips… Overall, the service was phenomenal, the wait time was short on having my food prepared. I love it. And their horchatta is just right, it wasnt too sweet or anything. But very flavorable… Namm sayinn.

Used to be good, years ago, either that or I just had bad taste in food. For what you get, the price sucks, well actually, the food just sucks. Salsa bar sucks, cleanliness sucks, service sucks… everything about this place is just gross. I’m really surprised it’s still in business, I can’t see why it has customers. I won’t give this place any more chances, ever again.

Service was horrible the girl had a serious attitude. The food was ok and came super fast but we didn’t feel welcome at all. The soda machine had no co2 and the wasn’t any horchata. And for the price we could have went and sat down at a nice Mexican restaurant. I’ve been to a lot of taquerias and have recommended them«ALL» this is the only one I will say I do NOT recommend. The only reason I gave it two stars is because the cooks were super fast at getting the order out.

There are quiet a few pros & cons with the food, staff, price and service here. I have been coming here for 10+ years & never have had a terrible experience, but very rarely am I impressed. The open kitchen has always been a plus, but the salsa bar is typical of a generic Mexican restaurant. The food on the other hand is good & pretty fresh. The torta’s, tacos, & super burrito have all been good over the years. But the chips have never been great and the service is anything but impressive.

Breakfast burritos. Period end of story. They have great breakfast burritos. With pretty much anything and everything stuffed with pretty much anything and everything. The salsa bar is stocked with all kinds of sauces to smother your order in and the chips and bottomless serve yourself style.

If authentic Mexican cuisine died, this place is its ghost– pale as this gringo reviewer’s face. Here are the grisly details: Full disclosure: I’m a gringo. That said, I don’t view it as a good sign when the majority of patrons of an ethnic restaurant are as pale as I am, and in this case the 90%+ majority was, alas, a harbinger of all things to come, save the courteous service. The salsas were not richly flavored, instead suggesting that they’d been concocted by the addition of processed sauces like the ubiquitous Tapatio’s lurking on every table, as it does in most Mexican places. The best was the light green(tomatillo?) sauce. The roasted pepper salsas were disappointing in their lack of depth and complexity. The chips were satisfactory but not excellent. Again, one suspects they were purchased, not created on premise, but I can’t say that with full certainty. Let that suspicion suffice to indicate their level of quality even if it doesn’t accurately represent their source. I dined here fairly frequently some years ago when the establishment was under the auspices of a different owner. He sold the restaurant and his son opened the competitor, Los Charros, whose salsas are characterized by the very complexity and authentic flavors that I missed in the offerings here. One exception was the Jalapeño peppers(those sliced lengthwise moreso than the laterally sectioned examples). They were not pickled in the usual manner, but seemed to have been lightly cooked and then marinated. They were tasty, if lonely amongst a majority of lackluster entries at the salsa bar. My lunch consisted of a regular chicken burrito with frijoles la oio(whole). The chicken was grilled, rather than boiled. This is my preferred style, and the chicken, like the chips, was satisfactory if sadly lacking in the complex authentic flavorings that characterize food cooked with a little more dedication. To say that it complemented the Diet Coke perfectly is not a really a complimentary remark, if you catch my drift. So, overall, Taqueria Guadelajara lacks determined authenticity, rather faintly recalling authentic Mexican cuisine, but all too faintly. In Spanish there is a word that describes soulfulness and integrity of effort. That word is «duende.» Unfortunately it is not close to applying in the case of this restaurant. You can do better. Try either El Central on Paloras Avenue off of Bridge Street(best for nice family atmosphere, good, authentic food, friendly service) Antonio’s Quick Lunch’s original location on Colusa(lacks atmosphere, but the tasty, affordable food makes it worthwhile), or Los Charros(excellent salsas and entrees, but loud TV and radio cacophony– worth enduring for the flavors) at the intersection of Colusa and Shasta– where the fish place used to be. There’s a crooked sign there that immediately identifies that you have arrived at the right place. A word to the owners at Taqueria Guadelajara: More love, less cost-effectiveness. A lot of Mexican places have strident, battling TVs and music, but the music is usually Mexican, and the TVs have diarios or soccer games. At Taqueria Guadelajara the TV programming added insult to injury by subjecting myself and the other patrons to infomercials about spinal surgery and the like. Not only did we have to settle for less than sterling eats, but we were treated as a captive audience to be harangued by medical commercials. One can’t but wonder if the establishment is paid to air this crappy palaver. At any rate it was insulting to be subjected to it. Again, more love, less concern for McDonald’s like efficiency. You can do it, I’m certain, but you haven’t yet.
