Great«New Mexico» style food. Don’t be confused, as this is not Mexican food, this is a meal full of New Mexico flavor :-).

Nice to have Mexican other than TexMex. The ground beef had an amazing flavor and the queso was awesome. The service was also great. Everyone working makes sure you are very well taken care of.

One of my favorites in Yukon Truly unique menu. Green chile queso is a must. Tamales and green chile stew are among my favorites but haven’t had anything that disappointed yet.

Why isn’t there a six star button? This place is true NM style green chili eating. Went at lunch time and the place was a bit busy. The waitstaff did an excellent job. I Had the green chili stew and the favors were wonderful. It could have been a bit thicker but it didn’t detract at all. I also had the green chili chicken enchiladas which were fabulous. My lunch date had the stuffed sopapilla with chicken. Also out standing! The offered green chili apple pie for dessert which looked and smelled heavenly… but was too full to have a piece. Next time I’ll get one to go or maybe as a starter(don’t judge me). My only wish is that this outstanding eatery was closer to where I live.

Roasted green chiles in winter. This place does it the best in all of Oklahoma. Go spicy and warm up. Fun different drinks too. Green chile lemonade. Best queso dip I have ever had and I lived in Santa Fe for a while.

Fabulous New Mexican food — – everything is fresh made in the kitchen and served by a professional staff. Best I’ve ever had. Next time we visit family in Yukon we will be back.

My review of Green Chile Kitchen is a bi-polar conundrum I usually reserve for reviews on books. Green Chile Kitchen is both wonderful and disappointing simultaneously. The good – The queso with green chilies is solid. I enjoy both the beans and rice sides. The salsa is a flavorful restaurant style that is neither too chunky, nor too runny. The Savory Sopapilla is so good, especially topped with the queso. The staff seems to be efficient, and the building is comfortable. Now the bad – I wish I could clear up this whole green chile issue for everyone, but I fear I will not be able to. But I will somewhat try. In New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming a staple of mexican food there is what we call«green chili». This«green chili» or «chili verde» is made by making a roux with Chilies, pork, onion, garlic, and various other ingredients that is roasted. The final result is a fairly chunky«stew» type dish that can be eaten like a stew, put on main dishes as you would gravy, or used like a dip. From what the servers have told me at Green Chili Kitchen and from everything I’ve ordered here, they DONOT have«green chili». They have green chilis grown in New Mexico, which is not what those of us looking for«green chili» have come to love in the Rocky Mountains. So if you’re looking for«green chili» like you’d find at any Mexican restaurant in Colorado or Wyoming, you wont find it here(or most anywhere in Oklahoma from what I can tell). For those who are curious look up El Jardin in Commerce City, Colorado. Best«green chili» I’ve found. My only other negative is that Green Chili Kitchen is expensive for mexican food. My beloved Savory Sopopilla is $ 14, which is high if you ask me. All in all, Green Chili Kitchen is probably my favorite Mexican food restaurant I’ve come across in OKC. But expect to pay more and don’t expect«green chili» or «chili verde».

Green chili kitchen is another restaurant here in Oklahoma that is truly unique and easily one of the best. There are only a couple other locations in the country. Guess where? San Francisco! Not sure why they are here, but I’m glad they are. Best place to get New Mexico style food in the city and it is amazing. Seriously delicious food. I am mad I’m not there right now eating as I write this. Green chili, posole, blue corn tortillas, etc. all good. Plus, they really specialize in pies! The Green chili apple pie and peanut butter pie are two of my favorites.

I really like this place. It is not Mexican but New Mexican food. If you like various types of Chili’s, then you should like the food here. I really enjoy the chips, salsa, and queso. y favorite item is the pork adovado. It has an interesting mix of flavors and spices that it cooks in. It is on the spicy side, so buyer beware.

Let me stary out by saying, Mexican and New Mexican food are different. I grew up in AZ, Mexico, lived in El Paso, and spent a lot of time in Las Cruces, NM. I have had real green chiles from Hatch, NM. I had high hopes for this place and was very let down. Nothing i had tasted like new mexican fare in the slightest bit. Their«hot» green chiles did not have any heat at all. There is so much more than adding green chiles to something to make it new mexican. Salsa i’ve bought from Target is better than their house salsa, the green chile chicken enchiladas were bland. Their version of a stacked enchilada is called a «flat» enchada and yes, it is flat. New mexican stacked enchiladas also have a fried egg on top and are generally 2 layers. The escabeche didn’t have any heat and was dried out. The queso was good, but nothing special. The chile verde isn’t anything more than what tastes like warmed up diced green chiles out of a can and smothered on something. Things i did love about Green Chile Kitchen was the ambiance, their beer selection and how they support Oklahoma by serving up mostly local beer. The sopapilla i had for dessert was amazing. The outdoor patio with live music was hoppin’, and the restaurant aethetically was awesome! Would not come back for the food.

Driving from Oklahoma City to Yukon didn’t take much time at all. The restaurant really looks nice as you approach it. It has the outdoor patio and looks especially cool at night when it’s lit up. When we entered the restaurant we were greeted by friendly staff and were taken to our table. We were brought chips and salsa. The salsa was on the tomato side with not too much personality(think marinara). Kinda of plain Jane. The chips were ordinary. Both could have come of the shelf. I ordered a margarita. I upsized it to a Cadillac. I had to pay extra for that. I was rather underwhelmed when it came in a pretty tiny little mason jar. It did taste good but I couldn’t help but think it was the mix that gave the Margarita a good flavor and not too much alcohol. I repeat… not very much alcohol. I ordered a red enchilada plate with refried beans. The plate comes with a little salad but no Spanish rice. The refried beans were good but thick. As for the enchiladas, I customized my order by asking them to place an egg on top which they were able to do. I thought that was fantastic. However, I was pretty disappointed with the enchilada plate. The corn tortillas were not that soft and there was not that much red chile. During the course of my meal I did take a bite that had a good amount of red chile in it and it was really good. My wife made the comment to me that they might just spoon the red chili on top of the corn tortillas wheras when we make them at home we dip the whole corn tortilla in the red chile.(Hint to restaurant) I ordered the chocolate peanut butter pie. 5 stars on the dessert. Overall I feel I’m being generous with the three stars due to the prices being charged.

The biggest perk about this place is their many options for vegetarians. I myself chose the greens and grains salad with chipotle lime dressing. It was fine, but for $ 10 I was expecting more flavor and better service. Complimentary tortilla chips and salsa(which does not feature green chilies– I was surprised) was nice, but queso is $ 7, and no tortillas. This ain’t your standard Mexican joint — but if you’re going to charge those prices, make sure your flavors and service are worth it.

We went on a casual Sunday morning right when they opened. Was a good hostess greeting and that’s where it ended. The waitress we had was«fake nice» and could tell she was working for a tip. She had only one other table and was still slow as molasses when we needed something. Of course the cardinal sin, she let my water cup get empty, and had to drink off my wife’s until she made it around with a refill when I was done. Poor service. I ordered the savory stuffed sopapillas. Ordered with just ground beef because it was already $ 14 and to make it a steak version it would have cost me $ 2 more. Figured $ 14 was expensive enough for meat inside bread. It was bland and no flavor. More flavor in a Taco Bell soft taco. The beans where the only upside to the meal. Would not go back, or recommend to anyone. From top to bottom a complete a snoozer of an experience.

GREENCHILISTEW!!! WOOHOOO!!! Finally decided to try the Green Chili Kitchen. The green chili stew is awesome! It’s not hot, has good flavor. This Colorado boy is now happy to have some cuisine close to home! Also tried their green chili lemonade, it’s a bit different and has a little bit of a spicy kick to it.

This barely made 3 stars. My large group of friends came to eat lunch here on a Saturday. It wasn’t crowded but they didn’t even have our reserved table ready for us until we stood there for 15 minutes. Our waitress did an amazing job for handling a 12 top. The salsa was very good. Not spicy and very tomato based. The chips were a little stale and cold. Not fresh by far. I ordered the rotisserie chicken salad $ 11 add avocado $ 1 with the chilli lime dressing. The salad looked beautiful. The chicken was bland along with the dressing and the cucumbers were bitter. Definitely not worth $ 12. This may be just one of my pet peeves but I find it extremely unprofessional when delivering food to shout out the order to the table and have the customer claim it. Ugh. My friends all ordered burritos which looked really delish. I tried a bite of the breakfast burrito and it was just ok. The tortilla over powered all of the stuffing. For dessert I ordered a slice of apple pie $ 4. It was the only seriously yummy thing there. You can order a whole pie $ 20 and take it home. This place had a great feel to it. Good looking, clean, friendly staff, but the food is mediocre.

Whoa, hold the phone. Hard to believe, but this restaurant is one my favorites in SANFRANCISCO. My husband and I were recommended GCK from a friend and now stop by on every SF trip. Just recently my husband texted me to say, «Green Chile Kitchen in SF, yeah? There’s a location in YUKON, Oklahoma.» I couldn’t figure out what on earth he meant. My husband is from Yukon, we go there all the time to see his family… how is Green Chile also here? Soon we figured out that the Green Chile owner hailed from the Miller town itself, so decided to open a Green Chile Rt. 66 version. So on a rainy Saturday morning, we met up with my in-laws to try it out.(It actually exists!) While the décor was very similar to the SF one, the style was slightly different as we had a waiter — in San Fran you order at the register and sit wherever. The menu seemed more extensive here too. We all ordered a variety of items, the winners being the tacos and the breakfast burrito platters. I had the pozole, because I can never ever pass it up, and it was pretty good. Not as authentic as I like it, but still good. Overall, super excited about GCK being a tad bit closer to us now, if you couldn’t tell.

This is what MEXICAN should taste like! This is the«sister» restaurant to the Green Chili Kitchen in San Francisco and these people know what they are doing when it comes to perfecting taste and presentation! Start with a LARGE margarita($ 8), you won’t be disappointed! And get the green chili queso hot, not mild! The green chilis are not that spicy and it’s a good kick before your main dish! The menu is full of original New Mexican dishes, from tamalas to stuffed sopapillas. My husband let our waitress order for him and she picked the stuffed sopapillas, half steak, half chicken. he was in HEAVEN. on the other hand decided to order a la carte, which is such a nice option to have when you can foresee that you will be too full to enjoy rice and beans, and the a la carte menu had the open faced Homestyle Chicken Enchilada. It was honestly the best Chicken Enchilada type casserole I have had in a very long time! Order it, take it home as a meal for the next day. Just don’t leave this restaurant without ordering this! Service was great too. Place is set up almost better for groups of 6 – 8 people more so than 2 – 4 peeps. So you may have to wait a little longer for a smaller table. We didn’t mind cause we were on a date night and enjoyed our Margs at the bar!
