It’s our local fish and chippy, we love their grilled fish! Great service and enjoyable food:-)

The tastiest and best donner kebab you’ll ever have.
My partner and I have been coming here for years now, and the quality of the food has prevailed throughout this time. Probably due to the (Greek?) guy running the place, who is always incredibly friendly.
On the outskirts of London in Cockfosters (last stop on the Piccadilly Line) Chippers sits in the midst of many other busy nice looking restaurants. It is extremely clean, and has seating if you want to eat your food in.
A variety of different fish are available, including plaice, cod and skate which are always incredibly fresh with crispy batter. The portion sizes are more than generous too.
Which brings me to the donner kebabs– trust me you only need a small! Pitta bread filled with the tastiest premium donner meat and delicious home made chilli sauce (if you so wish). On top of this is fresh crispy salad including tomatoes, onions, pickled cabbage and whole chilli peppers. The best kebab I’ve ever had by miles. Couple this with proper traditional fresh hot ‘chippy’ chips and you’re onto a winner.
What every chip shop should aspire to. I highly recommend.

This is the real deal chippy. For every other cuisine, the best ones are in central London, the suburbs are meh. But the best chippys are way out in zone 5 and this is one of the best.

I’ve been using been using Chippers on and off since my teens (now in my thirties) and the food has always been second to none.
With very friendly staff and spotless décor it’s hard to find fault.

Since I stay around the Cockfosters area whenever I visit London, Chippers is always a realiable stop for me when I feel my tummy rumbling on the way home. Fish and chips are decently satisfying and the portions are huge. A serve of chips can easily be shared between two or even three. Get them to add in a dash of vinegar and you’re on your way to tasty, fried comfort food.
Quality is always fresh and the staff are friendly. A few years ago, Chippers used to get a grab-​and-​go type joint. Now that they’ve had a little renovation done to it, there are tables to sit at and a huge flatscreen TV to watch as you eat. Fish and chips are an English favourite so why not stop by this neighbourhood shop to get your fixing?

Another cockfosters shop that has benefited from a much needed revamp.
Closed for a period of a few weeks a month ago the fish and chip/​kebab shop has clearly gone upmarket as a recent refit has brightened up the shop.
With French windows across the shop front that can be opened all the way across on a hot day, the take away is clean and inviting and always with a long line of customers, (which in my eyes is always a good sign).
Fish and chips are expensive, although th shish kebab is very very tasty and the meat used is of good quality which made a welcome change when it come to take away kebabs.
Following the refit it is also possible to eat in also.
