Yum, the pastries and sandwiches are so good, and after a long walk around town all you want is some strong caffeine to wake you up and keep you going. There’s additional seating downstairs, even with comfy couches, and free wifi courtesy of the Cloud(you just need to register an account for free). The servers will bring your order for heated food to your table, and it’s quite a cozy basement to relax in downstairs. Especially for international travelers without a British cell phone, Caffe Nero is a perfect stop on your day trip to Bath for a quick afternoon pick-me-up as well as internet connectivity to get you back into civilization(and further trip planning).

It was a chilly day in Bath, wind blowing my hair across my face, pinching my cheeks with icy rain, and we had only been walking for about 20 minutes. Rob and I were heading for the Roman Baths when I said we should stop for something to warm us up before we attempt the journey. As many options as there are in Bath, I wish I could say that I stopped into a dive café where I discovered the secret of Bath, but this chain-type establishment was very delightful alternative, and totally worth the experience! I spotted this café near the train station and was intrigued by the words«Italian coffee». Oh, that’ll do! The interior has a warm décor, dark chocolate colors, subtle lighting, with some small café tables and armchairs. The tall ceilings made for an open feeling even though the café was rather small. The prices were somewhat high, but I anticipated steep prices. Tea was cheap — £2 for a 2-cup pot of tea. Rob and I both ordered a pain au chocolat, a pot of tea for Rob, and a café latte for yours truly. Coffee in England is ten times better, stronger, than the American drivel I’m used to. Even with milk, it was very strong and robust. A real kick in the face; just how I like it. Rob thoroughly enjoyed the quality of his tea, which is surprising because of his picky nature. So if you happen to find yourself needing a little pick-me-up as you roam the ancient streets of Bath, stop into Caffe Nero for a little treat. It’s very nice.

Great Nero this! Fabulous location for first thing in the morning on the way in to work, staff are always friendly and it’s not bad for a quick lunch time nibble. The loyalty card makes you feel like you get something back. Cues are sometimes a bit long, especially around lunch time, but that’s just cause the coffee is great and the ‘portion’ of flavoured syrups generous.

A good few tables inside and out, good central location. Staff couldn’t be more helpful, we were with my two-year-old niece and they were really good with her, and her having her own food and drink while we bought from them. Caffe Nero offer a loyalty card so you buy nine drinks and the tenth is free.
