This is the best fish mongers I have used in Glasgow. Fish and seafood are always fresh. The shop is indeed ‘Wee’, but the choice of fish is varied and you can get most things you might be looking for. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I strongly recommend it for everyone who loves their fish!

This is definitely the best fishmongers in Glasgow as far as I’m concerned. Mark runs a really clean, cute and quaint little shop, with only the freshest produce available Monday-Friday. The décor of the place and his friendly demeanor make it so much more special than your average fishmongers, and he is always happy to talk to you about your choices and cut you a deal for bulk buys. It’s a fantastic idea to go in and get a whole bunch at once for really reduced prices. I went in towards the end of the day looking for a quick dinner option, and what I got were two ENORMOUS(like srsly double those pititful things they sell you at waitrose) for around £4! And I could have easily fed 3 with that amount of fish. Now, this might have been yesterday’s catch and hence so cheap, but it was absolutely delicious– perfectly tender, not fatty, and fresh tasting. Some of the other types of fish are more expensive but I think they are still reasonably priced and better than you’d do than the supermarket. I feel verrry lucky to have the Wee Fish Market right on my doorstep and Anderson’s greengrocer just next door– it makes supporting local businesses the easiest thing ever and makes dinner a cinch!

If you live in Hillhead or nearby… or anywhere in Glasgow… go buy your fish from here. Smoked haddock is just amazing. I took 2 medium live crabs for only £4 each and 2kg of the freshest largest most shiniest mussels I’ve ever had, fresh from the Shetlands. All completely delicious. The guy working there is very friendly and will totally help you out with choosing, cleaning and cooking tips. Oh man… the scallops… the Languostine… a joy. Go. Be brave with your fish choices and get involved.
