Good club upstairs! It seems to have well dressed people lol! So dress well to ensure you get in, and arrive early, queues tend to build up quite quickly lol! Anytime I’ve been I’ve had a good night… their pints of coors are particularly delish… then again everything is after a few It does be kind of packed, so if you don’t mind dancing round your handbag old skool style, then go and have a laugh! Updating review as went to a hen party here on sat night Bit of a mixup with our booking, we had booked two vip booths, and had paid £100 deposit, and had £100 left to pay on the night, only to be told we’d have to pay an additional £5 per head? Good thing is we had a copy of our confirmation to prove otherwise… not that they were cheeky of anything, far from it, and it got sorted right away Had a brill night, the barmaid was kind enough to find me some safety pins for my outfit too when another hen broke the back on it lol! The 4 stars still stand, great wee night and well looked after

21 Social is in a area that has been developing into a cultural hub over the last few years, with new bars and restaurants popping up all around. The addition of the mac and st Ann’s square, has brought more footfall to this area. With this in mind I feel 21 Social isn’t keeping up. The bar and menu hasn’t changed much in years, and the overall ambience in the place feels stale itself. Its décor is drab and dated, both upstairs and down. I liked the idea of cigarette girl, but have never been in to comment. The food isn’t up to the standards of the competition, the closest being two taps, which has a great menu that is well executed. The cocktails and drinks are a standard fair, with not much effort put in from the service staff. Customer service is good, but nothing to brag about. Over all its just nothing special really.

Didn’t actually plan to have a meal in here. We had originally gone here after work one Friday as my friend’s fiancée was gigging here on a live music set, and we decided to go along and meet her. We then had an impromptu decision to get some food. I didn’t see a main I fancied, so I decided to go for two starters; chicken ceasar salad, and the bread selection. I know these were pretty safe options, but the were delicious! Everyone else enjoyed their food too. I have also been in previously on a night out and we had a lot of fun, reasonably priced drinks and the music was great, we had such a hoot!

Went here for something to eat recently with a few friends and was disappointed. Firstly we were the only table in use on a Thursday evening at 6pm which considering everywhere else in the vicinity is full to capacity is a statement in itself. I had a steak and chips which was beautiful and tasty so the food was good for me but my companion ordered one of only 2 vegetarian options on the menu only to be told that they did not have it available, which to me is unacceptable. I think they will need to do something special to bring the restaurant up to standard and to compete with the other places around and about

I visited 21 Social last night for a quick meal with a couple of friends before going to my Thursday evening Wine Appreciation Class. Sadly it was one of the most disappointing meals I’ve had in a long time. There are only a couple of Vegetarian options on the Dinner Menu, a ‘Homemade Herb Gnocchi’ and a ‘Ricotta & Beetroot Tart’. Well, I assumed they were Vegetarian judging by their description, however this wasn’t clearly stated on the online menu I looked at before visiting. I ordered the Gnocchi as I liked the description of ‘Homemade Herb Gnocchi’ with ‘wild mushrooms, shaved radish, parmesan, rocket pesto’ — it sounded good. Ten minutes after we ordered our food the waitress returned to our table to let me know the kitchen had run out of Gnocchi! She suggested a pasta dish(linguine) in either a tomato based sauce or the mushroom, radish, herb and parmesan dressing the gnocchi would have been in. I opted for the later. It looked good when it arrived and was set down in front of me. Unfortunately it didn’t taste so good. It was bland. I would go as far as to say that it was one of the most disappointing, tasteless pasta dishes I have ever had in my entire life. I ate half and left half. In hindsight I should have complained and sent it back to the kitchen — I wish now I had done so. The restaurant itself had zero atmosphere and we were the only diners there. In fairness it was early(6pm), however other restaurants I passed on the way to 21 Social had more people inside and looked livelier. Our female waitress was nice so I can’t fault the staff or service and this is the only reason they are getting one star from me. I will not be returning to 21 Social. I was dissatisfied by the extremely limited Vegetarian options(I’m not even sure the meal I had was Vegetarian as Parmesan isn’t always Vegetarian), dishes not available as they had run out of ingredients and flavourless, tasteless food. My two friends liked their meals but my personal experience of 21 Social was a big let-down.

Been here a few times over the years from the pott house to 21 social and it hasn’t changed at all, def think the place needs a bit off a revamp, my most recent visit was at Christmas time and the place was busy but not jam packed. Ages ranged from quite young upto a man who could possibly be 80 lol but this could not judge the general crowd who usually attend 21 Social, wide range of drinks on offer over the three floors, not my favourite place in Belfast but has a certain draw each time I’m out in Belfast but in my opinion some cash would be welcome on a revamp of décor or layout to keep the venue fresh.

I’m not sure why but come 1am on a Sunday morning I always seem to be standing in Social 21 wondering how I got there? I know what you’re thinking, but no this isn’t alcohol induced confusion. What I mean is I always question why Social 21 is my final destination on a night out? I suppose there’s a few reasons why. Firstly it’s right in the middle of the Cathedral Quarter and it is surrounded by bars that generally go a little bit quiet after 11:30pm. Secondly it seems to attract the cocktail dress clad ladies of Belfast. The club itself is good although there’s no distinct dancefloor so revelers end up dancing in little pockets. This can be fun as on occasion when returning to your standing point form the bar you can get caught up in a mini dance off. There can be a queue to get in to Social 21 and if you’re not smartly dressed you’re likely to get turned away. Same goes for if you’re too drunk — save the shots until you’re inside Social 21. That’s my advice! All in all I like Social 21, as another reviewer said, it’s full of Belfast socialites but who knows after a few beverages you might just end up dancing the night away with one of these so called socialites.

21 Social is the new pub standing proudly where the potthouse once stood. The bar has retained its cool, funky modern edge and while it is different to the Potthouse it has kept some of the best featured. Its really light and the bar looks really great. We came here on a friday evening en-route to mynt and it was really busy but no so much so that it felt like a cattle mart or a sweat box. They serve really great traditional pub grub offering things like steak, burgers pies and everything in between. We ordered afew side orders to keep us going and their wings and chips are pretty good! I’d say get there early if you want to get a good seat, especially if you’re with a group and want to sit together for the night. The music is pretty cool too and they play chart stuff displayed on the big screens. A great spot as a stop off en route to somewhere else or to just gofor a few drinks and see where the night takes you.

21 Social stands where The Pott House used to be, and it’s not massively different to its predecessor in that it’s a modern, trendy gastropub serving local cuisine(the menu includes mussels, County Antrim lamb and Guiness wheaten bread). I’ve only called in once and it was to watch the World Cup final. In most other parts of the world, the pubs were probably packed to the gills. In Northern Ireland, however, it was the 11th night which is kind of hard to explain accurately, but basically, it’s bonfire night and tends to stir up any tensions between the two communities. The city centre is therefore mostly deserted. This year was a little different I think because a lot of people made a point of going out to watch the football, but the place was still pretty empty. Anyway, to the point! I liked 21 Social. The layout is totally different o what it had been before so it wasn’t like walking into the same pub with a different name. It’s really light and spacious — all light coloured wood and mirrored panels on the wall giving the illusion of space. The staff were very friendly(and not too bad to look at either!) and the prices were reasonable. I’d definitely go back to see what it’s like on a normal Saturday night and after having peeked at the menu, I’d definitely go back to sample the food!
