Love love love this place! It has people from all walks, has a good atmosphere and live music It’s always busy… I really mean that, especially at the weekends so if you intend to go and actually want a place at the bar never mind a seat, then get there early!

I don’t see what all the fuss is about with this bar. It’s always packed and people queuing to get in, maybe I’m just old but I find the music way to loud for a venue this size and I find myself having to shout to speak to my friends which is annoying. The bar itself is beautifully decorated with bronze tables and red velvet chairs and stools which gives it a decadent vibe — if only it was more comfortable to be in.

Had been busting to goto the harp bar as all I seemed to here was people going to it, and only complaint I ever heard was it was seriously busy! We venture in on a Monday night at 9.45 and it was busy but we got a seat easily, got served at the bar quickly(a pint of coors and a bt of coors was £8.60!!) There was a guy playing guitar and playing everything from oasis to I’ll tell me ma! He was excellent, really impressed by the place and will certainly be back, the harp bar is everything’s. Bar should be!

Class craic in here! Live music, pints of Heverlee on tap! I’ve never been in here when it’s been quiet! Always a buzzing atmosphere! Plenty of room for large or small crowds! Dear enough pints but worth a visit if your in the cathedral quarter Belfast!

Yet another spot in the currently thriving Cathedral Quarter. Harp bar is an extremely busy, popular drinking hole. It was originally a restaurant and has a rich red and dark wood interior. They don’t have the best wine selection so when I visit I tend to stick to G&T or beer. There’s often live music on. I find it a strange place though — it has a huge seating area and the noise levels can be HIGH. I always feel when I’m in it that it could benefit from better seating with a few more nooks so you’re not sitting in a huge, open, noisy, churning space. However that’s just my opinion — everybody else seems to love Harp Bar.

Harp bar located in the heat of Cathedral Quarter. This is a busy Irish bar close to the main Belfast night clubs. I went on a Thursday night for pre drinks before heading out. The bar was packed but there was adequate bar staff working therefore service was quick and friendly.

If you know Belfast at all, I’d describe this place as The Robinsons of the Cathedral Quarter. Although cute in it’s polished brass and antique beer signs kind of way, it doesn’t have the authenticity of it’s brother The Duke of York. Yes, they have a good beer selection, the barman even letting my friend sample various local brews while he was waiting for me, and the staff pleasant, the chairs comfortable(depending where you sit), but for me it is just missing something. When the live music is on it can turn into a sort of Irish wedding sing-a-long where you don’t know anyone– a plus or minus depending on your view. It’s a reasonable spot when the Duke is packed, which sometimes is all you need. ;-)
