Perfect spot for a quick bite when shopping in Castle Court. The choice of bagels is very good, I’m sure everyone can find one to their taste but if not, you can even make up your own. You can also choose the type of bagel you want: cheesy, seedy, wholegrain etc. and they are very fresh and tasty — would love to know which bakery supplies them! I have tried the smoked salmon one which was delicious and another time I ordered the chicken Caesar one but got the one named turkey club — I did not mind though as it was very nice too and the melted cheddar begged me not to return it. Apart from this, service is fast and staff is pleasant. The seating area is comfy. I definitely recommend Bagel Factory if you want to opt for something fresh and relatively healthy while also avoiding the queues of other eateries in Castle Court.

Nice bagel café. I tried the mushroom melt bagel with a peppermint tea. Tasty food, comfortable seating and pleasant staff. I notice they are advertising ‘pizza bagels’ — will have to return and try them.

I’ve walked past this place hundreds of times, usually when I am on my way out of Castlecourt, but yesterday I thought, you know what I’m going to give it a chance, and I’m glad I did. Wedged at the back of Castlecourt you would be forgiven for walking past it like I did, especially as it is placed next to big brand fast food outlets. There’s not many places you can get a quick bite for under a fiver but this is one of them, I opted for a Italian Pesto Bagel on cheese break and it was absolutely delightful. I thought this was probably the healthiest option — the mozzarella spilled out of the bagel and the sun dried tomato complimented the pesto perfectly. This was their cheapest Bagel at £3.90, which I feel was a steal. There’s a nice seated area that feels like it is set apart from the always-busy food court. The staff are great — they were frantically clearing tables as soon as customers left and they will deliver your order to your table. All in all I’m glad I gave Bagel Factory a chance — I’ll definitely be back if I’m looking for a quick bite.

Bagel Factory used to be a standby for myself, and somewhere I would called in between classes on a Friday. The main draw was of course that things were not battered and then deep fried(as almost everything else is in Castle Court) and their superb cheddar bagels. I’m not a fan of burnt cheese scattered on baps and bread as often found in the major supermarkets but these bagels were great. Soft and the hole was general filled up with lots of rich cheddar. Usually having a chicken caesar, well packed with lots of rich thick sauce and sun-dried tomatoes it was a great start to the afternoon. The issue now is they appear to have stopped selling them and have also cut back on how generously packed their sandwiches are. Still, palatable and cheap. Some of the better food to be found in Castle Court.

The Bagel factory is a good place to take a load off during a busy day at the shops. They do some really nice bagels and also offer sandwiches, wraps and yummy cakes! Their hot chocolate is pretty good and it’s definitely a healthier alternative to the food court in Castle court which consists of burgers, fried chicken and pizzas. Basically its a big greasy mess food court. The Bagel factory is always pretty busy as it attracts all the more elderly shoppers-not in the mood for a burger-who seem to sit here half the day. But a great pit stop all the same!

Ahhh, the mighty bagel. I do love a bagel, I think it is the slightly cheaper, more healthy alternative to the usual fast food tat that you usually have to pick up when you are wandering round the former shopping mecca that is Castle Court. As others have said, this is a chunk of civilisation in Castle Court’s food court and is really the only place that I would eat in the place. I usually go in with the intention of going for a healthy option but usually end up going for a bacon and cream cheese. The stuff is usually lovely and you will be filled up. The only problem I have here is that the service is not always the best. On more than one occassion I have had to wait ages to get served and found them to be a bit surly. If you get an ok member of staff you won’t go bad here.

I think this is a fantastic place to take a break from shopping in the busy Castle Court shopping centre and enjoy an excellent bagel. I love bagels and this place does some of the best. I always get the breakfast bagel, regardless of the time of day and just chill in the open fronted café, watching the world go by. Their prices are quite reasonable and there’s always offers on which make for a thrifty purchase.

The hot, noisy surroundings of Castle Court will never be the best place to enjoy your bagel. I’m a fan of the Bagel Factory in general but was disappointed in this occasion as the bagel was stale and the tea I had was like dishwater. Also it took ages to arrive, I even had to remind the girl, though she was apologetic and nice about it. I still think she was too busy chatting to pay proper attention to my bagel which I was desperately hungry for. Although my visit was at the end of tiring day so I hope this was just a temporary lapse in the standard I’ve come to enjoy from the Bagel Factory especially in shopping centres where I have always found it the best bet for a snack.

Across from the madness of the Castle Court food court is this little chunk of civilisation. Proper service, proper seats and pretty much proper bagels. Allegedly baked fresh everyday they come in a variety of types with my favourite being the poppy seed and there’s a selection of fillings. Normally I keep it traditional with the salt beef option but passing early the other day the ‘eggworks’ caught my eye. £3.20 and boasting a(not so) healthy portion of egg, bacon and sausage topped with brown sauce I was in 7th heaven. The seating area was uncluttered and suitable spacious and clean so it was most pleasant to relax for quarter of an hour or so and bolster myself with a piece of circular goodness. Do try. Pros: Nice environment, big portions, very tasty. Cons: If you don’t like bagels don’t bother.
