A quirky wee pub with an amazing beer garden known as the secret garden. Great choice of music and i can see this place being a massive hit in the summer. Only complaint(apart from the cold) was paying £4.50 for a koppaberg.

Very busy bar in the evenings and especially the weekends. Lovely to go during the day and sit out in the beer garden(they have heat lamps and covers for Irish weather) nice drinks selection and the staff are ok. It’s quite hard to get served in busy evenings. There is collection of bars/rooms off the main bar all playing different kinds of music. Nicely decorated.

Filthys on a sunday is a great night out. A friend brought me to ‘Faith’ and it was a fantastic night. The security staff at Filthys are very friendly and this is a huge selling point for me in particular as there’s a few other nightclubs in belfast with. lets just say not very nice security staff. The bathrooms weren’t in great shape but that’s normal to expect in a nightclub. Its a good spot for taking someone on a date or just casual drinks. Lastly I would definitely suggest trying one of the cocktails they were prepared fashionably and went down a treat! Filthys gets a thumbs up from me!

Over rated. I like the outdoor concept but for our climate it is not very practical. There is always queue at the bar, they don’t accept credit cards in some of the bars. The cocktails are ok, though I believe over priced. Though to be fair if you have a large group of people it is a big enough establishment to fit everyone in.

A nice bar with several good areas to it. The outdoor area is huge and although mainly for us wishing to shave a few years off our lives smoking it works well for all as it’s very open. The main bar is nice with a good range of dri is as is the bar in smoking area. Only downside is that service ca. Be a bit slow at times and have had a few issues with the security at times with getting in. Being told my group of 15 were not allowed in as 2 were too old during a 30th birthday party night out is not great after we had sorted a guest list. Just make sure you tell them everything as list was through Facebook and they always give automatic response without checking back with incoming people.

If you’re not sure whether you want to go out for a pint, or if you want a nice evening of wine and/or cocktails, this is the place to be. Good bar with a massive beer garden, but also hidden to the side is the winebar. Two birds, one stone. Overall there is always a good atmosphere in filthys, and if you’re ever stuck for somewhere to go, here is always a good backup. If, however, you’re on the run and want to go to a place where nobody will recognise you, then you should probably avoid this place, as anytime you go you will bump into someone you know.

Filthy’s is great either for a few drinks, to start a night out, or to stay for a whole night out. It has different areas, like the Gypsy Lounge, Secret Garden which is an outdoor area with a roof terrace, and Filthy Chic cocktail bar. The quirky décor and tasty cocktails make for a good night out, and while it can get quite busy in the early hours of the morning, it’s a good place to dance the night away. Recommended!

I must admit I quite like Filthy McNastys — it’s just a bit different and stylishly grungy. A cool place to unwind and relax in with an amazing outdoor area — I always head to this place in the summer months. Its got lots of different sections — the Gypsy Lounge, Secret Garden(roof terrace) and Filthy Chic cocktail and wine bar. Well worth visiting for some elegant slumming.

I love Filthy’s. Its got a quirky décor(I remember, as does probably half of my generation in Belfast, having my pre-formal here when it was Dempsey’s) friendly staff and a great atmosphere. House wine and prosecco are reasonably priced and its right in the heart of Dublin Road. This makes it super handy for a starting point going into town, or a finishing point after a meal in any number of the surrounding good restaurants. The biggest star of this bar though is it’s beer garden in the warm weather. Absolutely amazing outdoor space, with 2 levels of seating, gas heaters for when its cold, bare and painted old brickwork and just a general feel of trendy. To be honest if I am over this end of the town, it would always be the first option that pops into my head!

Filthy McNasty’s There are loads of reviews on here talking about Fithy McNatsy’s famous Secret Garden but I want to talk about Filthy Chic — Filthy’s classy refined sister bar. I say sister bar because it has feminine feeling about it — I’m not saying you have to be a girl to go in there, but it would help. The bar is lathered in lilac, pinks and purples and they specialise in cocktails that no macho man would be seen dead drinking. If you read that opening paragraph you might think that I didn’t like Filthy Chic, on the contrary… I’m a massive fan! I think it adds a welcome bit of class to the Dublin Road — there aren’t many bars in Belfast that are cool and classy all at the same time but I think Filthy Chic encompasses those two elements. One thing I especially loved was that the attentive bar staff/cocktail waiters delivered a flute of popcorn(sweet and salted — the perfect combo) to the tables. Free popcorn — what more could you want? Give Filthy Chic a go, even if you are a pint slinging superhero — you never know you might just like it!

I love ‘filthys’! It’s quirky and funky. Has plenty of lights and candles! Good music and nice drinks! A fireplace in the garden and a lovely atmosphere! I do think there is something magical happening in the secret garden. Sitting down, drinking a bottle of wine, chatting with friends, warming up near the fireplace with lights and candles all around! It’s magical! The place is a mix of different bars/areas, all very unique that results in a good combo! The inside area can be a bit cramped, especially over the weekends or when they have live music — like on Tuesday nights and drinks can be a bit overpriced. However their range of beers is quite good, including some craft beers. This is my favourite bar! There is nothing like the secret garden for me! Summer or Winter, I will always be there with my bottle of wine enjoying a good company. I love ‘filthys’!!

If you go in here expecting some shiny, glamorous cocktail bar you are going to be sorely disappointed. It is all in the name– filthy. Then again if you are looking for somewhere to have a few pints, that isn’t pretentious and has a big beer garden for smoking fags, then this is the place for you. The owners have made great use of the space with every available nook or corner having a table in it, but the shabby chic has become a little tired in places, especially in the cocktail bar area Filthy Chic. I don’t want to be mean, a good night out can be had anywhere if the company is good, but here I just want to get out my Marigolds. And if you don’t know what Marigolds are, perhaps this is the bar for you!

I’ve been coming to Filthy’s since the start, when it literally looked like someone’s living room on the middle of the dublin road. But it was love at first sight /sip of prosecco poured from a tin watering can. I like to think that my friends and I pioneered what was to be a long and loving affair with ‘Filthy Fridays’. I think they’re what I miss most about not living in Belfast. The décor is quirky and the place definitely has a unique and loveable charm about it. Over the years it has expanded greatly with the cocktail lounge and club upstairs. My favourite is the beer garden covered in fairy lights, find a cove and cosy up to the log fires and keep the Moscow mules flowing.

Filthys is a strange club. I never really feel like I have had a night out when I go here. I love the interior and their secret garden is amazing. The staff seem really nice aswell. There’s just something that doesn’t work. It’s kind of a mishash of clubs and bars that don’t match each other. I would say filthys is somewhere I would call in to during the day for drinks or even a few before I head on to my final venue. I’m still on the fence about it. I would have to say it’s somewhere you need to go and try for yourself.

Hi, I really love this Bar. The décor and ambience is really amazing and pleasing to the eye. I never had problems with bouncers here bar today which was very unfortunate. I wa trying to get past one of thm when he stopped me and started Asking me to get out and in their own words“who let this guy in, let him out the other door”. This was blatant and rude to the point that it was very embarrassing when all my friends were let out. I requested for an explanation but was told to calm down and not be aggressive, I don’t want to and intend to play the race card but I was told that one guy was messing around with the fire hazards. No cctvs or cameras were present which could have recorded such incident. I was made to stand there and ganged upon by 3 bouncer who led me out forcibly. This is very upsetting and demeaning. I was having a good time with my friends but blatantly blaming someone without any shred of proof is categorically wrong.

Filthy McNasty’s. I am definitely not a fan of this place. I have been in twice, and I’m sure I’ll be back in again once the place is expanded into a proper venue, and not just a front room with lots of Oxfam bric-à-brac blu-tacced to the walls. There’s an Oxfam just across the street, incidentally. I wonder… The building looks like a gigantic graveyard monument from the outside, and has what would appear to be a hand-painted Van Morrisson quote on the front — ‘Large audiences did not suit my low-key approach.’ Arrogant gimp that he is. Also, the place is called Filthy McNasty’s. FILTHYMCNASTY’S. That is horrendous. Ever seen the Eddie Izzard sketch where he’s playing the parts of a room full of music company executives, as they try to come up with the name Englebert Humperdinck for Gerry Dorsey? Not for me, I’m afraid. Contrived and pompous, not unlike Van Morrison himself. There are a dozen excellent bars within walking distance of this one.

The jury’s out on this place as far as I’m concerned. I was in it for the first time last week and while I can’t really fault it for anything in particualr, there was just something about it that didn’t sit right. I think I’ve mentioned before that some bars can get away with hoisting random items onto the wall in a bid to seem quirky and interesting. This place can’t if you ask me. Maybe it seems so affected because I know it’s part of a chain so chances are all the branches most likely look the same, I don’t know. It just seemed to be trying a bit too hard to be alternative, you know? Now, on the plus side, when the upstairs section finally opens(I heard they had licence troubles, which accounts for the delay in a full opening) I think it’ll actually make a pretty good venue. The upstairs space is a good size for small gigs and might prove to be a rival for Auntie Annie’s across the road, or at the very least, another decent place for local bands to get heard. Oh, and a major plus is that they stock a beer I haven’t seen anywhere else. It’s called Lucky and the bottle is shaped like Buddah — mazin! Overall, I reckon I’ll be back, but only time will tell how much this place can actually appeal to the muso crowd in Belfast. At the minute though? Could do better.

I am a fan of this bar fo shure. Although some people argue that it looks contrived, I think that all the place needs is a bit of time to settle into itself and find it’s feet. The décor inside is very aesthetically pleasing. Mannequins with lampshades on their heads wearing crazy tu-tus, old vinyls on the wall, mix n’ match furniture, some nice music in the background and a fully stocked bar– what more could you want. The clientele is mixed, sure there are some early twenties poserey types but shur you get them everywhere. There are also some dolly birds in here downing a few before stumbling down the town to some nightclub, but I like the fact that the crowd are mixed. It’s not exclusive or pretentious. There is a little shutter type thing at the back of the bar with a sign teasing that something will be opening behind there soon. I speculate that the extension to Filthy’s could be a smoking area, as there are always hoards of people outside puffing away. Filthy’s is also good for a mid-week pint to go meet a friend, score one of the comfy couches and have a catch up. You can even read up on the latest bands in the many copies of NME lying around– only if you’re 18, male and have your cordless ghd’s in yer back pocket though. I’m liking Filthy McNasty’s and look forward to it’s mysterious extension.

This a new addition to Belfast’s pub scene and when we first seen the name ‘Filthy McNastys’ we had to take a dander in– and were greeted by mannequins with lampshades for hands! The place is really quirky and not dissimilar to Made in Belfast it is really tiny though as its still being finished so I reckon it’ll be a great place to go once its all up and running! They offer a huge range of drinks and promos and the music is really good! It’s definitely worth popping in for a pint just to admire the décor and soak up the funky atmosphere of the place! I’m predicting this will be the spot to go for hen and stags– just for the name.

It’s an idea to have a place that wants to be a music venue rather than be a pub which doubles up as a music venue. Filthy McNastys does exactly that, well it certainly tries. Complete with an almost pointless slogan from our very own Van Morrison, the décor on the outside looks like it was painted as part of community service for some blind chav. It looks pretty much repulsive. Looks much better in the dark. Inside it is marginally better, but still doesn’t strike me as a great place to have a gig. It is a bit like the Mandela Hall in that sense, whereby bands play here more so because it is a good size, rather than because it is a good venue. I think, as Nick rightly mentioned, it will get better. At the moment it just doesn’t quite click. It’s got all of the right elements but it just needs to be ironed out and made into something better and bands will want to play here because it’s a good venue and not because they have no other choice.
