Always a good feed from here, well cooked, plenty of it and easy to pay. What's not to like?

I love this chippy, it’s the first place I think of whenever a takeaway is mentioned as a dinner option. They have a good range of food on offer so there’s plenty to chose from. But no matter what I order I always get a portion of gravy with it, it’s really tasty! I think the service could be a little better as the staff aren’t the nicest over the phone when ordering the food, but it’s never anything serious to put me off coming back. They have a few meal deals on offer and my daughter loves the chicken goujons or fish bites depending on what mood she is in. Overall a great place to get your fish and chips.

This place is spot on when you have that chippy craving! I have had the pleasure of tasting all the usual favourites: fish, burgers, chicken, pasties etc. I have never been disappointed with the quality and taste of food, I think portion control lets it down a tad though as when you compare what you pay for in regards to other chippys the quantity isn’t up there with the rest. Also a few errors when getting delivery so my advice is go the actual chip shop order your food and take away. Meal deals are available, I recommend the chicken burger! Very tatsy!

I placed an order for delivery. After an hour I rang up to see what was keeping it. I was told the driver was out here, but couldn’t find my house and they took my contact number down wrong(which I repeated twice on the phone). I give the right number and again waited. Two times before my food got to me the driver was in my area. I saw him both times, but by the time I got outside he was gone. Not bothering to call me. 2 hours and 15 minutes after ordering I finally received my order. The best part is the driver has been here before. Twice. Judging by the quality of the food I’m guessing it was made as soon as I ordered it and re heated. The chips were soggy, the chicken was almost warm and the portion sizes were terrible. Over all the worse experience I’ve had with a local chippy. I could write more, but I just finishing eating it and am going to make a sandwich. If only Unilocal had a lower rating…

KINGSCHIPPYARENOTVEGETARIANANDNEVERHAVEBEEN! They have lied to me for years and found out today when I rang and asked they said they have always used beef dripping and that I must never have asked which Is bullshit coz I always check! Liars! And they said every single chippy does it.

I’ve seen the great reviews on Unilocal so was keen to try King’s. Unfortunately I am not impressed. I tried it last week and had a cheesy mayo chip which was disappointing. The mayo was gloopy and there should have been a lot less of it and more chips and cheese. Plus the chips were soggy and greasy. Portion size overall was pretty small. Plus with very little change left out of £5 I was horrified at the price. I certainly would not return nor would I recommend King’s Fish and Chip Shop to anyone.

Probably the best chippy in Belfast in re to quality. Quantity could be improved especially their sauces.

OMG Kings really do the best cod and chips in Belfast! And the best part? They deliver too! So you can stuff your face with great grub without having to leave the house making a nice change from a Chinese or a pizza! The batter here really is the secret as its light and moist and crisp and doesn’t fill you up halfway through your meal forcing you to remove it to enjoy the cod. The chips are my favourite homemade and chunky! No skinny fries here! Loads of vinegar and a paper bag and you’re in for a treat here! Prices are good too costing between £6 — £8 which is a bargain for food of such quality!!!

King’s is a cracking little fish and chip shop and I’m saddened to say that I’ve only ever been there once. Recently, whilst taking advantage of the rare sunny weather I was at Ormeau Park with some friends just hanging out. Deciding that we needed something deep fried to stem our hunger pangs we visited Kings. I got their Chicken Goujons which were just fantastic. Cooked to perfection, they were lovely and moist in the middle, which compared to most other places dry pieces of chicken in batter this was exceptional. Great little place that I need to eat out of again soon.

Even though I try not to eat chips too often, and usually avoid fast food as a general rule, when you get a craving for chips there is rarely anything better than a nice fish supper from a Northern Irish chippy. When it comes to this, King’s is pretty much top of the tree. I have called in once or twice after work and went for the much lauded fish supper and was in no was dissappointed. The fish was light and the batter was moist and crisp in equal measure — just the way I like it. The chips were thick and chunky and not dripping in grease which can always put you off a chip shop. The price is a little bit high, about £7 for a meal but that is almost ok due to the quality of the stuff. I’d go so far as to say this place is worth going out of your way to get chips from.

Even if you don’t like fish and chips, King’s Chippy will convert you. King’s battered cod literally melts in your mouth and the fish itself is always fresh, tasting as if it’s just been taken from the river and straight to the frying pan. Their chips are also delicious, golden, moist and savoury, especially with vinegar and chips and their scampi has the same Atlantic fresh taste as their Cod. I cannot recommend this place highly enough; it’s reasonably priced, costing no more than £7 a meal which i think given the quality of the food is an absolute bargain. If there were 10 stars, I’d give it 10 stars. My star tip is to always ask for Eithne; if she’s on in the kitchen, you’re guaranteed a 5 star dining experience. And request that the battered cod is not well done but moist; with salt and vinegar, it’s divine. And with Ormeau Park just across the road, it’s the perfect dish for a picnic.
