This is a little hidden gem in amongst the offices of the gasworks, it can be difficult to find but you basically go through the main entrance of the gasworks and hang a right and your there. I started frequenting this spot as it is literally on the doorstep of my office so was handy to grab a coffee and get away from it all for a bit. They have a really good selection of tray bakes and cakes to go with your coffee. I recommend the toasted sandwiches my personal favourite is the peppered chicken melt. They have free wifi and bbc news 24 on so you can set up camp and work from there happily. If you work in the gasworks this is a must visit.

This place is pretty close to my work in the gasworks. I’d been working here a year before I even knew it was there, its not the easiest to find and due to the layout of that section of the gasworks it’s not that easy to direct someone to it either. I find it a nice place to go in to, its bright, open and has a nice feel to the place, the staff are attentive and efficient and will have you served in no time. Occasionally getting a seat can be tricky at the peak lunch time rush as it’s not the biggest place in the world. As for the food, I’ve never had cause to complain but I’ve never been blown away either. I think as it tends to be charging at a bit of a premium(unsurprising as its surrounded by the ‘trendy’ office spaces) I was expecting top notch, which sadly it isn’t. For the money the portions should be a little bigger and more flavoursome. My only real complaint though would be the coffee. I would usually have an Americano with lunch and after having a half dozen or so at various times I’ve not found them very nice. In the mornings they’ve been doing £1 coffee offers which is pretty good, but sadly due to the walk and the not great nature of the coffee itself it doesn’t tempt me. If I don’t have any lunch with me and I need to get away from my desk for half an our I’ll pop in and enjoy the refreshing atmosphere, even though I’ll probably be wishing what I’m easting was a little nicer.
