So good. This indian is more about subtle authentic flavours. The service is great, very helpful and accommodating. The food and wine list is varied and unique, with modern takes on classic indian dishes. Lovely spot.

Hearing great things about this place, I thought I’d thought I’d book for a table for 7pm on a Friday. Turns out I needn’t have worried! There was only one other party there, which meant for a bit of a soulless dining experience but luckily the food made up for it. As there were more staff than customers, service was prompt! Some lovely kingfisher beers and poppadoms got us under way. We shared some vegetable bajhees to start, which were great. Light, flavoursome and crispy. Mains — my gf ordered a chilli tikka masala. This was top drawer! It was hot and the flavours really lingered. I’ll order this next time. I orders the vindaloo! This is strictly for spice lovers! Man it was hot! Whilst it was not, it was tasty but nowhere near as satisfying as the chilli tikka masala. Overall a very nice meal, some great beers, prompt service and reasonably priced. Worth a visit.

The term hidden gem is used all too frequently but I’m going to go right ahead and use it again here. Safa truly is a hidden gem, even the fact that I’m the first to review the place astounds me. Safa is above Kelly’s Cellars, perhaps the fact it has no reviews is down to the fact that it’s difficult to locate? In complete contrast to the traditional style of Kelly’s, Safa is modern and chic and their food is out of this world. I attended an event at Safa on Wednesday evening and was blown away by the food that was served. This was indian cuisine created to perfection. The tandoori chicken was mouth watering. I would sum up Safa in 3 words; authentic, stylish and delicious. This is perhaps Belfast’s best Indian!
