Thornton’s is a small shop with a big selection of chocolate. There are a variety of gifts and snacks and you can get gifts iced for free so could get someone’s name or a message iced onto the chocolate. The chocolate is wonderful, as is the toffee and the fudge! Definitely worth a visit!

Delightful, delicious, scrumptious, yummy, heavenly, divine, flavorful, flavorsome, good-tasting, heavenly, appetizing, delectable, delishok — now I’m running outta descriptive words and have broke my thesaurus! Anyhow — I am a self confessed chocoholic — therefore I love this shop! If you are you will too — #ChocolateHeaven #LoveIt

Great chocolates and other sweet treats! Very nice selection and customer service. It is too easy to get to from the office. They really need to add a moat or a wall of fire to make it more difficult to get to, the chocolates are nearly impossible to resist.

Did someone say chocolate? Oh yum, yes please! This exquisite little chocolate shop sell the most delicious of delights ranging from milk, dark and white chocolate in single bars or lovely big boxes filled with the most delightful of centres. This shop becomes insanely busy around the special gift giving times, so beware, you have been warned! Most of the time though it is quite quiet, but not overly so, you usually see someone after one of the yummy chocolates or one of the tempting ice creams. If you’ve never tried one of these before you must go right now and get one. I used to love nipping in here for an after work treat and usually this meant indulging in one of their appetising ice creams. Ah, Thorntons, how I love you. Yummy yummy!

A well known quality chocolatier right in the heart of Belfast’s busiest shopping area, just beside Victoria Square shopping centre this store gets a lot of people traffic. They sell melt-in-yer-mouth chocolate in every flavour imaginable. They also sell lovely fancy boxes of chocolates in every price range which are perfect for buying as gifts. You just got to be careful that you don’t get tempted by all the little truffles vying for your attention. Guys if you need to get a present for your girlfriend you cannot go wrong with chocolates(unless she’s allergic to it, then she’d probably hate you). Thortons is also great for mothers day presents– they even have special gift boxes you can pick out so your mother can’t complain! The prices are pretty reasonable too.

Chocolate is a thing bequeathed and passed down generation to generation which is rarely ever not loved. A dark truffle or slab of bitter chocolate accompanying a sweet/milk stout or lively Cascade hopped yankee imperial stout is a match made in… well somewhere fantastic and almost certainly more tangible than heaven. I bought a few gifts from this little store around Christmas and took advantage of a discount they were running at the time. The selection boxes are varied, from the chique and modern to the old time classics to keep the older folk happy. You can always call in for one of their rather tasty chocolate bars or pick up a small selection of whatever you want from the singles they have.

Thorntons is a great place for the chocoholic. They have created their own range of chocolates that can be bought in pre-packed boxes or you can go to the front counter and create your own personalised box for that someone special. I always add a box of these to any gift. It’s not something big or special but it adds a nice little touch. I mean, who doesn’t like chocolate?! There are various stores all over the country so it’s not that like its our little chocolatiers but it’s still some of the best around.

Thorntons is trouble, Thorntons is bad, Thorntons isn’t even that nice, I don’t even like it… ah who am I trying to kid? Thorntons is absolutely AMAZING! It is the smoothest, most flavoursome chocolate known to man and the best things about it is — it manifests itself in so many ways! There are so many varieties to choose from, with the humble chocolate bar being an old favourite they also make truffles, eggs, fudge, caramel, toffee, white, dark, milk, no added sugar, organic and also make the most outrageously chocolaty ice cream ever! There are only a few Thorntons shops in Belfast which in my opinion is even better because as it’s not readily available it means that when you do give into temptation it’s always a treat and can be savoured all the more. All the prices are reasonable for the quality you get and Thorntons now offer brilliant gift boxes meaning that someone’s birthday present or special gift can be even better than before!

I’ve got to be honest; this place destroys me. It tries to cultivate a ‘handcrafted image’, but we all know its products are made in a factory somewhere. Plus, their chocolates are so rich that after 3 or 4 you feel sick. Maybe it’s just me, but I prefer the romantic notion of an independent Chocolatier slaving away, trying to perfect the right texture of melted chocolate. Agree with the last reviewer-this shop’s way too damned small, but what’s more is that it lacks character. I can’t imagine a Chocolatier slaving over the box of chocs that cost me £14.99 from this place. That’s another thing-you may as well pay the same price for hand-crafted quality from an independent Chocolate shop.

Anywhere that does chocolate usually gets a handful of bonus points from me. Thornton’s chocolate is famous worldwide, and rightly so. This little shop is located what used to be on a bland side-street but is now at the entrance of Victoria Square… lucky devils. This particular store, as with its counterpart in Castle Court is quite small(some would say cosy) which makes browsing short and quite difficult. For special holidays — valentines day, christmas, mothers day — this place does an almighty trade so you have to get there early or go a few days before. I was treated to a large chocolate heart that wasn’t eaten until the day after because we went out for dinner that night, but needless to say a cup of tea and a bit of rubbish tele and that heart was wolfed down in seconds. In saying that, there is a reason why it is so busy and that’s because the chocolate is astonishing. You could literally spend hundreds of pounds buying everything in the shop because it is all designed to catch your eye and make you buy it. If you are a choco-holic and you want to either get someone a special present or you feel you have earned yourself a little treat from all of the walking and breathing you have been doing, you would struggle to find a better chocolatier than Thorntons.
