Let me start off by stating that I’ve travelled all over the world and visited 100 countries, and some of these journeys have been solo adventures. Never in my life have I been denied a meal because of being a solo traveler… Until today. I walked into Sea Breezes at 12:40pm and it was about half full, with mostly couples. There were at least 6 vacant tables available. When I asked the host for a table for one, he immediately scoured and stated«We don’t have any tables available.» I took another glance around the restaurant and he could read my mind in regard to all the empty tables within view. He then said«I want to save the tables just in case any groups of two or more show up for lunch. Good bye.» I was speechless. I was hungry from hiking and would have ordered more food than most couples anyway, but his mind was made up. It made me wonder if he was simply discriminating against me because of being a solo traveler or because of being brown skinned. It’s not like I was going into a nice 5 star restaurant for a fancy, candlelight dinner. This is nothing more than a seafood shack. If I can’t eat here, I can’t eat anywhere.

Really fresh oysters and tasty mussels. Friendly staff as well. Try to reserve your table as early as possible after they open. Highly recommend.

A thousand times yes! One of the better seafood — if not the BEST seafood — experience in my life. It was like a 3 star Michelin restaurant’s deliciousness at a fraction of the cost. If you are coming to Skye, make sure you book a reservation here in advance because you won’t be walking in: the place is tiny and it’ll be all booked up when you do get into Portree. Everything we tried was good — everything! The steamed muscles were so tasty and fresh and I don’t even like muscles. The salmon was prepared with an Asian style panfried noodle that I just couldn’t get enough of. And then there were the langoustines … which were really the star of the meal. Every single one of them was very juicy and yummy. My only regret was not booking a reservation here two nights in a row. Eating here first only set us for disappointment for the subsequent meals.

Really great contemporary seafood menu, so fresh and delivered with excellent service. Crab linguini and the c scallop risotto were both perfect. Wish I could eat here every week.

Completely amazing food and beverage at this charming little spot. We had the special, which was the seafood platter for two with langoustines, mussels, and two big pieces of salmon. Everything tasted perfect. Even the mussels, which, in my experience, are usually quite bland, were succulent and flavorful. Be sure to make a reservation here at least a day in advance. They fill up quickly and have limited seating. Also, ask for a table by the window. The view is beautiful and we saw TWO rainbows over the harbor in just the two hours that we sat in the restaurant!

Great fresh seafood at what we felt was a reasonable price. There were 4 adults in my party so we ordered 2 entrees and the seafood platter for 2 — turns out the seafood platter for 2 could have fed the entire table on it’s own(or certainly could have fed 3 of us). The other 2 entrees we ordered were the bass and the shrimp with pasta. The bass was cooked well, but had too many bones for our tastes.

For British standards, actually Scottish to be more precise, the quality of the food here is outstanding. All dishes are freshly made and beautifully presented. The waiting staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Also the typical British(Scottish) humor is omnipresent. Try the Scottish salmon on risotto … delicious! The restaurant is located directly at the picturesque harbor.

This restaurant is on the Portree Harbor. (2 Marine Buildings, Portree IV519DE, Scotland). The map shows this in some other location. A cute busy restaurant with fabulous food. We had butternut squash soup and wild salmon with polenta, cabbage and sun dried tomatoes. It was fabulous. You need to make reservations! Easy walking distance from anywhere in Portree.

This is some of the best seafood I’ve had at any price. This place is a gem. An informally set little place with a good view of the harbor. I’ve never tasted oysters that good. They needed nothing. No lemon, no hot sauce. The trout en pappiotte restored my faith in trout. The mussels were above average although I prefer a cioppino style broth as opposed to the traditional cream sauce they use all over Scotland. Also, not only the bread, but the butter is homeade here. If you’re in Portree, no no, if you’re in Kyle or anywhere close this is the best place to eat on the Isle of Skye. I’m shocked that it wasn’t even listed on Unilocal as it’s the number one restaurant on TA. Oh, also both the house red, and the house white are very drinkable.
