All I can say is, what a lovely pub! Food is simply delicious, and interior is warm and comforting. Service was brilliant — they managed to keep fed and watered around 50 crew on a photography shoot for several days. Not a single problem.

The Barnt Green Inn is a beautiful old pub just outside Birmingham serving up great Mediterranean inspired food. I’ve eaten here on several occasions, mostly for family events, and the food has been consistently good. A main course will set you back around £14 but the portions are generous. On my last visit I had pork belly, which was absolutely delicious, served with creamy mash, broccoli and a fruity sauce. The staff are always friendly and atmosphere is cosy. For a sunny day there is also a huuuuge beer garden at the front of the pub.

Really enjoyed this pub /restaurant. It had a nice modern but cosy feel. Very clean and the staff were helpful. Its got a massive beer garden at the front, perfect for sunny days. We didn’t go there to eat but we were tempted by the ‘bar nibble’ which were reasonably priced. I would definitely go there again, probably for a meal on a a sunny day!

It’s my first time at Barnt Green Inn and it’s a delightfully sunny day, which helps. But what really assists is the gorgeous Tudor framed exterior. We hadn’t booked for Sunday lunch and expected it to be busy but instead we were swept through the lounge and bar and through to sunny side of the restaurant. Seated at decent sized table for two, we quickly decided on our choice of Sunday roasts and settled back to enjoy the view. The restaurant had a mixed crowd and as you would expect, some large family groups but the staff coped well. Our food arrived promptly and we hungrily tuck in. You always know when the food is good when diners go quiet for a while. I’d like to go back and try their normal menu as all of it looks amazing.

I really, really like the Barnt Green Inn. And for some reason, I find it really annoying that I really like it. Perhaps it’s just because it shows how easily pleased I am: provide me somewhere with wooden floors, stripy chairs and good lighting and I’m sold. Top it all off with a beautiful archiac-looking building and I’m even more sold. I’ve been here a number of times, to eat, to drink and just to chill out, and it’s great for all 3 of those things. The only problem with it is that it’s in Barnt Green — rather than, like, next door. They have free wifi, polite and helpful staff, good food, a good range of drinks — seasonal variations included. Currently it’s all about the cider. As you’d expect, in British ‘Summertime’. Its not the cheapest pub/restaurant in the world, but then it’s one of the nicest so, as ever, you get what you pay for. What are quite bargainous — unexpectedly so — are the cocktails, which start at £5.95 for a Mojito. In a joint like this, that’s pretty impressively reasonable. So. I’ve settled myself into one of its pleasing stripy chairs with my chilli puffs and hot chocolate(slightly odd combo, but that’s what I felt like…) and frankly, I’m not planning on leaving any time soon. If ever.

The first time I arrived here was by chance, I was driving through the village and passed the inn, and decided to stop in for dinner with a friend visiting me at home. The atmosphere of this place is unbeatable, clean tables, counters, comfortable chairs, subtle lighting, good music and a great outdoor patio. The service was sharp, and although they did seem rushed, it was only because they were clearly busy. The food that arrived was perfectly cooked, better than I expected it. It wasn’t nearly as pricy as it looks, and its worth staying there afterwards for a coffee. Since that first time I’ve been there many times, and never has it failed me. Try this place, and trust me, if you want gastro pub, this is the real deal.
