firstly, despite the name, i have no connection to this café :) Ive been going for years on and off as and when ive been working in the area. The staff are always very accommodating and friendly — when i went in on Saturday morning i had a good 20 minute chat with the staff, its always nice to get the local gossip! My usual fayre from here is their hot pork bap — its served(if wanted) with apple sauce, stuffing and gravy and is totally delish. I was taking mine away and when i got home i found that it had been put on a paper plate and wrapped securely in silver foil so was still lovely and hot. Its touches like this that make Emma’s Pantry so good. They also do other sandwiches to order, homemade cakes, some pastries, baked potatoes and drinks. I have knocked a star off because when i went in on Saturday there was a lack of sausage rolls/pies etc which would havefurther improved the selection. They also sell cookbooks written by the eponymous Emma although i havent had a look through these. A well established, friendly café(there is room to eat inside and, i think, outside, although there is a park nearby so on a nice day you can lounge on the grass and eat your food) which i would highly recommend to anyone.

This is a small but cosy corner café that does a mean hot pork roll. It looks like it hasn’t changed in years and that white-wooden exterior and tea-shop interior means it has a quaint, country feel to it. The staff are dead friendly and you always end up stopping for a chat when you nip in for a takeaway snack. The food is simple but tasty and is a mixture of hot and cold stuff. Sandwiches are made to order, and they do nice baked potatoes with a variety of fillings. If you are in the area and are peckish then this is a great place to drop in on. If you want one of the hot pork rolls I mentioned then don’t leave it too late — they tend to be quite popular and often sell out quite early in the day.
