It can be a tough choice choosing where to eat on Raddlebarn road, there’s Dolphin Fish Bar, Exotic Spice, The Diner and of course, Tin Sing. This place does great quality Chinese food at prices which are more than reasonable. There’s no need for me to recommend anything in particular because they have all the classics that any normal Chinese establishment offers. They are normally fairly busy on the weekends, which in my eyes is a great thing as it means a large quantity of people enjoy the fare on offer. One negative is that they do not deliver as often getting a takeaway is a way of relaxing and not having to leave the comfort of your own home. However, Tin Sing is worth putting in a little bit of leg work for as the food they produce is great quality and comes in generous portions also.

This is my local chinese take away and it’s great. The staff are always so sweet and welcoming and I am always spoilt for choice by their large menu. They do not deliver but you can call to place your order and then pop down to pick it up, or just pop in and order. In my experience it has always been quite busy, but the staff have always made me feel welcome and treated me well. The food is cooked to perfection and I love their portion sizes, which are just enough to fill me up without being overwhelming! The prices are reasonable too. I particularly enough the Crispy Lemon Chicken and the Sweet and Sour Pork, the Dim Sum is also as good as Dim Sum can be and I love the fact that they shape some of the vegetables into what meat your dish is — so if I have chicken, I will find a chicken-shaped carrot in my dish! It is such a sweet touch. I never mind walking up the road for the food here as it is great and I am always welcomed with a smile. A lovely place and I highly recommend it.

We use this Chinese at least once every month or so. My wife is very fond of banana fritters so I am often despatched there on a late night mercy mission. It’s a family run place and the staff are helpful and friendly and the food is pretty good. The menu has everything you’d expect from a chinese takeaway, so there’s nothing really out of the ordinary on offer — just wholesome food at reasonable prices. I’m not sure whether they deliver or not as I always walk up the road to collect. There’s something quite satisfying about a Chinese takeaway. The spare interior, the day old newspapers and the wall-mounted TV — you’ve seen similar places, I’m sure. Despite the area being densely populated with students you never have to wait too long for your food, and even if you do have a wait it’s nice to pass the time with the girls behind the counter.
