NCF Furnishings

AVOID!!! Very bad Customer service in store and over the phone. They don’t even want to listen to their customers they think they are always right. Maybe cheap carpet which brings in their customers but loose the ones who see straight through them as they try fiddle you. Don’t even offer a smile when you walk into shop! Very rude. Need to learn some skills in good customer service!

Yet another of Kings Heath’s home furnishings and furniture outlets. This one is largely more focussed than some of the others and has an emphasis on carpets, vinyl flooring and the like. They do stock some general home furnishing stuff, but I suspect that this is more done with the aim of dragging punters off the high street for a nose around — this certainly works in my case! Damn consumer psychology.
Soft furnishings aside, this is a good place to check out if you want some floor space in your house covered with something. There are lots of sample books and displays to nose around, and if you have something specific in mind that isn’t in stock, the staff will help you order it, or else suggest an alternative. Other than that, what can I say? When you need carpet, you need carpet and you go through a rather functional purchasing process. Doing it here is as good a place as any.

There’s not just a lot of carpet in this shop, there’s a stack load of vinyl too. Now, usually I avoid vinyl like the plague but since having children I have come to see the benefit of having durable flooring in some parts of the house.
To be honest, initially I wasn’t sure I was going to find what I was after when
I first went in, but my first impressions were wrong.
They have a good range of quality vinyl products available to them. There are sone sample books over at the far end of the shop that are really quite good and although they obviously don’t have them all in stock their time between order and delivery were within 5 days so I was really pleased with that too.
On a practical level, it’s lovely to be able to wander around a shop with a pushchair and not have to worry about space, knocking things, running into people’s legs etc.
The guys who came to fit it also did a good job, quick and professional. I paid the delivery guys separately as they are contracted by NCF, but they were good value. Plus, a friend of mine couldn’t tell it was vinyl on the floor and thought they were real tiles-​result!

There’s a lot of carpet in this shop. Which is fortunately what I was in search of.
After staining some beige carpet indelibly I ventured to NCF to see if I could find some suitable replacement carpet. Well I did, they have the exact same shade of carpet that I had prior to it’s juicy makeover. They also have a lot of general, decorative, house stuff from laminate flooring, rugs and a range of furniture.
I purchased the 6×6 foot piece of carpet and it’s temporarily wedge in the place where the old carpet once stood. Quite a simple solution and I am (now) grateful that I had a local furnishings store that could swiftly aid me in rectifying my clumsy act.
