I visited here for the second time yesterday and it was just as the first time was — bloody brilliant! Daniel G and I went for some lunch and after some deliberation, opted for sushi. It is all you can eat after all! Having been here for dinner previously, I had enjoyed the dinner offerings which was around £15 a head and you get a great selection for your dollar. All different types of sushi, spring rolls, noodles and such like come out on a conveyor for you to chose at your leisure. The lunch menu was slightly cheaper but I could not see any difference in the variety of food which was pleasing, especially as I was ravenous. i tackled about 7 plates although I could have probably squeezed in a couple more because they are delicious, I restrained myself which is most unusual. Washed down with a pint of Asahi, the bill came to just shy of £20. The service is always welcoming and they have a variety of drinks on offer. A word of warning though — although very satisfying, the whole bottle of sake is rather lethal but with plenty of delicious food to fill up on, it’s a match made in heaven

Sushi to me is always a good thing! I was a customer of Shogun’s now closed down restaurant in the Mailbox and I loved it, it was a real shame that they had to move it due to the Mailbox being refurbished but the Cube seems like the best option for them. Its pretty close to where the old restaurant was and the development is full of other great restaurants and eateries. Upon arrival at the resturant you are asked if you are visiting for sushi or the teppanyaki option, the sushi is set around the belt with a couple of tables located near the belt for larger groups. We took a seat and started taking a look at the many hot and cold options moving around in front of us. There is always a good selection of sushi, noodles, vegetables and tempura on offer although if there is something that you really want and you cant see on the belt, the chefs are usually more than happy to make up dishes on request for you. All of the dishes we had on this visit were fresh and well presented as always. The only way you can have sushi here is on the ‘all you can eat’ option, it is £12 per person and it really is amazing value given the quality of the food you get. I also really like that this is an all you can eat because if you want to take a less experienced sushi goer to the restaurant, they have a chance to try a large range of dishes and decide what they like without spending a fortune on things they are not so sure about! A reliable and great value sushi option. 100% recommended.

I am only reviewing the sushi buffet and I am being generous. There is not much variety on the conveyor belt. The sushi was ok but again no variety. The wasabi wasn’t even spicy. It gets three stars just for the price and as I said, the sushi was ok. I would definitely order off the menu if ever going again.

I really like Shogun, it’s not the best sushi I’ve ever eaten but if you’re anything like me and crave sushi on a regular basis and you’re on a budget then I really recommend the £10 buffet. It’s great for a quick lunch. My partner and I come here quite often as during the week it’s nice and quiet(well less noisy than the Yo! in Selfridges.)
