Much better to party and drink here than to eat. The venue is nice but again looks better of a night. Would eat here again, why would you with the other options in the area?

If you like pink you are in for a treat! It was a strangely mild December evening when we visited for Unilocal’s cocktail event and we were given our own corner. This is a venue with high ceilings and high tables. Lots of cylinder lights hang from the ceiling and they are all pink! This means that every thing looks pink. pink food pink drinks and pink people. This is a «ladies» bar with a range of cocktails and a dancfloor under a massive glitterball. It’s been rather a long time since I’ve been here and I think its had either new owners or a refurb since I came before. If you a young lady who is heading out on a night out up Broad Street and wanting to get into the evening then this is probably the venue for you. I’d love to go back in the day and try the food and see if it is a normal colour in the day. It gets three stars for being A-OKAY and having lovely staff. Tone down the lights for four stars.

A very lovely venue which I shall definitely be returning to. Classy venue with weirdly wonderful lighting(I love it) and a calming ambience. Lots of space and seating too. The toilets were so snazzy and bigger than most of my house(toilets are important to me). The cocktails were really nice and they run 2 for 1 cocktail offers throughout the week so even better.

We had our office Christmas meal here and i wanted to see what the hype was all about. This place looks and feels like a bit of a swanky bar, and is fairly large and airy. Drinks are expensive here, however I couldn’t fault the food. It was delicious and well presented. At times there was no atmosphere but once it got busy, this bar came to life and gave off good vibes. There was live music which was a absolute delight. Not the best range of beers, including bottled, however it had everything you’d expect from a bar. Would I come back? I think I would but only to start a night off or to meet someone on a date for a drink or two. I recommend this place.

I feel this is not one of Birmingham’s best known bars, however, the daily offer of 2 for 1 on all cocktails kept me coming back! Extremely stylish and laid back, it is a fine venue. The staff have always been super friendly and knowledgeable about their drinks. On my last visit, I found it to be more quiet than usual, perhaps because the two for one offer has been removed. As a large venue that is not busy to the week it could be of detriment. At full price, I can;t say I will be rushing back which is a shame as I think it has great potential. If it had a better ambiance, I would be there like a shot!

When looking for a casual Tuesday evening drink with a friend I would have normally walked straight past Chameleon. I was tempted in by the two for one cocktail offer… and I am happy I was. Unlike a lot of places that do a two for one offer, you are allowed to have two different cocktails from the menu. We went for a couple of ‘the classics’ with a mojito and my favourite, a margarita. We sat at the bar and watched our seeming well-trained waitress making our drinks, both were served perfectly and tasted great. The only reason I am not giving more stars for this place is that it’s usually quite quiet and lacking atmosphere. If you are looking for a buzzing bar on a weeknight, keep on walking and go elsewhere.

We called in here for a drink whilst waiting to meet someone off the bus, I had a Long Island ice tea, it was an usually hot April afternoon and the Long Island ice tea was perfect and hit the spot well, the barman mixed it just right, zesty yet slightly sweet, cool and long, I took a momement to look around whilst I enjoyed my drink, it’s hard to know how to describe the interior, as it seems to be slightly old fashioned in places but not retro old just slightly dated, it had a definite feel of 1980’s to me in some places, not that that is a bad thing, it’s just not what I expected. Having picked my daughter and her partner and 2 grandchildren off of the bus, we decided to dine in chameleons restaurant as it was so conveniently close. The restaurant is nice, small but perfectly formed and different again to the 1980’s feeling drinks area. Tablecloth and napkins in crisp white linens, anyone who knows me knows that that means a lot to me. An open kitchen so my daughter kept losing track of the conversation to watch one guy work his socks off. It was 6.30 so very quiet, we had the restaurant to ourselves and our service was great. Our server was helpful and smiley and kept telling us not to worry about the mess our toddler had left under her highchair. Keith and I had a sharing plate, half a roast duck, hoisin, pancakes, cucumber and spring onions. The duck was perfect, crispy, tasty and moist, I’d recommend the sharing plates, sarah had a sharing plate too and I remember tasting some, it had chickpeas in it but I can not recall what plate she had but she enjoyed it and cleared all the food she shared with her daughter and her boyfriend, Chris had a burger and it was a genorous looking juicy burger, served with fries but with options of hand cut chips or something else, sorry but I didn’t take much notice of everyone’s food, I was busy getting stuck into my apricot Bellini . All in all, the food is nice, maybe even a little better than nice but nothing special for Birmingham, the service was great, but that’s what I expect from anywhere in Birmingham, inside is a nice space, this is somewhere I’d come again but it’s just a little tucked away but it’s the sort of place I’d take my parents or my nan. It’s conservative and safe for a meal or drink, the cocktail menu is good and the cocktails are great.

Hmm, well I came here for my works Christmas do on Friday. Our table was right in a gang way so people were continuously knocking past us. The waitress was very slow to bring drinks and when I went to the bar to ask for a glass of Merlot, they couldn’t find a corkscrew! The Belly pork starter was quite pleasant. I had turkey as my main, but we all had to wait along time for the veg to come out. Having said that it was cooked properly and not over done. I had coconut and pistachio cookies with a honey dip for dessert, which sounded delicious, but there was no way to eat the runny honey with out breaking the biscuits which were hard as nails-a bit messy and not what I expected. The music wasn’t bad and the atmosphere was good. Nevertheless this all went down the pan when I realised my coat had been stolen!:(

A chameleon usually refers to a small tropical Old World lizard with a long protruding tongue. However, a chameleon can also refer to a changeable person. The Chameleon in Birmingham is definitely the later. To date, I am still unclear if the Chameleon is a posh bar, a night club/cabaret, or simply a fancy restaurant. Well it tu
