Surely the point of Travelodge is you get a consistent experience wherever you are. Not so with this one, which is pretty dire and definitely not worth the £51 I paid for a night. The elevator really doesn’t sound like it’s up to the task of taking you up to the eighth floor, where you will then be greeted by a cryptic puzzle of sorts, in the form of a sign pointing you to your room, but missing about half its numbers. Even more cryptic is their system of hiring out ironing equipment to their guests, which has been carefully formulated to ensure that a) they never have any irons, and b) they have absolutely no clue where they are or when they might be returned, with the result that c) you go to work with a very crumpled shirt. Not good. Even for very basic accommodation, I’m sure you can do far better. And for business travellers, this is definitely a no.

Ideal location for those on a night out in Brum; this Travelodge is right on Broad Street. Clean but basic, this place is good value if you can book it far enough in advance to qualify for the special offers(it can easily go as low as £20 a night for a family room), but probably not worth the full price. Wouldn’t bother with breakfast as the Figure of Eight Wetherspoons pub two doors down does a really good one.

Needs updating to say the least. Very dirty and rusty in bathroom, around toilet and bath to the point where i would not use the bath!!! Towel hooks had been pulled off the walls leaving holes. i would not recommend. To be fair the bed and bed linen were clean, and tv reception was ok.

This is a cool place to stay if you like to go and party up Brum as you can often really cheap deals for one night stays up here, so can often be cheaper than a taxi fare home. The hotel is basic but for £20 or so its fine.

Awful! Would be the best I could say about this Travelodge. I have stayed in a few up and down the country, but this has been the worst so far. I was looking for somewhere to spend the night and get some sleep. Not possible as it’s right on the main pubs and clubs street. On the other hand if thats what your looking for this is perfect!

I stayed here for one night as i was going on holiday the next day and travelling from birmingham airport. The hotel was very basic and a little dated but i only needed somewhere to crash my head till 2am. I wouldnt have paid full price for the room but i got it on one of there super saver deals and paid £15 for the room for 2 adults so in my opinion was well worth that amount. What i can say is though it is in a good location right in the centre of town, so plenty of places to eat, drink and shop closeby.

I got the distinct feeling when staying at this very central Travelodge that the mafia owned it and recently had someone done-in, in the room I was staying in. I’ve stayed in a fair few Travelodges in my time and anything that breaks the monotony tends to stick out quite a bit. This room was unusually quite dirty and it seemed they were actually building in the other rooms on my floor. This made it dusty and noisy across the whole floor. The large window had a view of the roof of some warehouse, which is a bit disappointing as it was quite high up and I do enjoy a good view. A good location but an unusually unkempt and slightly creepy branch.
