I haven’t been in here but I have ordered from Deliveroo and so my review only addresses that experience. Delivery was just about on time but the food was close to cold. This may have been Deliveroo’s fault and it is also Winter, so I haven’t scored down. The food itself was disappointing. If I’d have been served this is the restaurant itself I would have complained. I had one of the pizzas and it was fine, though boring. The dough was nothing special and the topping merely average. But I was hungry and ate it basically cold! The rocket and parmesan salad was both tiny, and I do mean tiny, like half you might reasonably expect, and a little wilted. The dressing was also way over-salty. Desert was also tiny, half what you would reasonably expect for nearly £6. A real rip off! It came with some weird super-sweet sub-cream liquid stuff, almost like reduced(slightly) milk that was then sweetened in some cheap and nasty way. I won’t order again and I won’t visit the restaurant. Totally put off. But you know when you’re hungry and just need to eat, even if it’s all a bit mediocre and cold. .that was me! Because I ate it no point complaining to Deliveroo! It cost me over £20!

We went on a quiet Friday afternoon so we served very quickly and staff were very attentive. Last time I had the caramelised onion bread for a starter before and it is so huge that I struggled to eat my main! This time I went for the lunch menu and had the ravioli. The ravioli was lovely but my dessert was the best thing about the meal. I had the Rosa sundae which had vanilla and raspberry gelato with raspberries, meringue, mint, conserve and cream. So good! I could have eaten ten more. It was pricey but definitely worth it!

This restaurant does very nice food for a price that is not too expensive, you do pay for the quality you recieve though. I went here for a pre-theatre meal and the atmosphere was perfect, although busy the noise was not too much and you didnt feel disturbed. The service was quick and the waiters and waitresses were all polite. Seeing as we hadn’t booked a table the wait for a weekend night was not bad at all and we were offered drinks while we waited. Along with this there was seats allocated to sit while you did have to wait. The menu didnt have a vast choice but is quite concentrated on pasta meals, no surprise there. They do cook these to a high standard though. The restaurant is situated right in the mailbox complex and is bang in the city centre. i would definately go again. It is suitable for couples or for a large group of people.

Friday lunchtime — not that busy compared with other nearby restaurants so lacking some atmosphere, possibly better when fuller — but some might prefer quiet — business meeting — dangerous liaison maybe? A bit scruffy — crumbs on the table, spillage on floor by the table, cutlery not polished clean, generally did not look spotless as a restaurant should look(unless the market is for transport industry). Attentive service, pleasant and helpful. Food choice good if you like pasta and bread based dishes. Drinks not sampled(had Peroni beer which was nice). Prices what you’d expect for this type of venue AND they have EXCELLENT mid-week voucher deals on at the moment even for large parties — well worth it from that point of view. Good location at Mailbox canalside, could sit outside if good weather. Recommended overall especially with vouchers: Hope this is useful.

Average food and service but in a nice setting. It is pretty pricey but most Italian chain restaurants seem to be nowadays anyway. Somewhere I would eat again but not somewhere I would rush back to.

Great food, good prices, can usually find a deal or two online as well making it extremely cheap. Bottled beer is really good, and the wine isn’t bad either. Good selection of Italian dishes which change regularly enough to make it a place well worth visiting. As good as the rest of the chain.

Not too impressed with this place. There’s something lacking in the atmosphere and a lack of attention to detail. There’s a good range of pasta and pizza dishes(more diverse than the similar Pizza Express), but what I had(warmish mussels followed by linguine with prawns in a spicy tomato sauce) didn’t really impress me in any way. The staff were friendly and the service good, but I think the wine was the best bit of the meal.

Italian is one of those foods for me that I love eating but I get very full up very easily but I do love it very much so. Zizzi is located in the Mailbox in Birmingham although I do happen to think there are quite a few around places in the UK. We go a lot with work just because they do good food, the atmosphere is nice and it is in a good spot so let me now go into detail with why I think Zizzi restaurant is definitely worth a visit. - What is Zizzi? Zizzi is an Italian restaurant which specialises in giving you authentic Italian food. They are actually located all over the UK so you should be able to find one near a city for you to visit but I am going to review the one here in Birmingham just because I visit a lot as once you have been you will want to revisit, they make sure of that. - Where? Zizzi in Birmingham is at the following address; 162164 Wharfside Street The Mailbox Birmingham B11RL The Mailbox is in the centre of the city of Birmingham and is well signposted throughout plus when you are here you can ask anybody and they will direct you in the right direction. Plus when you are in the Mailbox you go directly up and to the back which is where all of the restaurants are and you will see Zizzi on the middle level. - Location: Zizzi’s is in a very good location situated right in the heart of Birmingham next to all of the public transport links and more importantly right next to all of those big and wonderful shops. It is in the Mailbox which is a very modern and stylish area so you get a nice and lively atmosphere at all times which is great. - Parking: I will admit to you that parking is not always that nice around here, the main reason being that the Mailbox car park is good but quite expensive and then the only other choices you really have are to park in other parts of the city but I suppose wherever you park you will always not have to walk far to get there. - Outside Appearance: This is really good because the Mailbox is very nice and clean and stylish so you immediately feel good just about stepping in there. Where Zizzi’s is you get very nice views of the rest of the Mailbox and the gorgeous canal so outside it just looks very modern and inviting which is always welcome. - Inside Appearance: Inside it is great as when you walk in you can see immediately in front of you a huge stone oven where they make all of the pizzas and it is quite fun watching them being made. Plus I like it as you can see that and all of the kitchens which are nice and clean and look well looked after which is just what you need. The restaurant is on two levels and there are a few steps leading up to the higher level and there are loads of tables there which is nice. The tables are all modern and the whole restaurant just looks very modern and clean which is great. There is not loads of decoration and the place has such a clinical look but it is surprisingly cosy. - Drinks: There is a good range of drinks but in my opinion they just have what is expected of a restaurant so all your hot and cold drinks and then wines. There is a good choice and prices are quite standard so there are no nasty surprises. - Food: The food here is fantastic and I love Italian food so it was a test for me. The first time I went I was amazed at how much choice was on the menu and for me it was good as I tend to stick to vegetarian meals. The prices range from £618 depending on what you have with the average pizza being £7 and a lasagne being around £8. The first time I visited I had a fungi pizza which for those who don’t know is just mushroom. It was so nice and I managed to eat every single bite of it as I had thin and crispy and I can honestly say it was the best pizza I have ever had in a restaurant. The second time I visited I had lasagne which was just divine. The plates are always full and quite big so I cannot imagine anybody going home hungry after visiting. Other mains are things such as Calzones and a lot of pasta dishes as you can imagine. For starters they do have a few which are priced at £37 each and there are such things as ravioli and tomato pesto bread which I like. Then for desserts you can choose from Tiramasu which is always a favourite and then a good selection of ice-cream. These are priced at £35 each. - Verdict: I like it here and I think for Italian food they do try and give you a taste of how it should be cooked as I have been to a lot of Italian restaurants and the food does not taste authentic at all. I think the atmosphere is one of style and warmth and they do provide a very good service especially with the quality of the food and how it is cooked. Any questions about food and drinks and the staff are always on hand to help. I do recommend that you book though as it can get very busy in there. Thanks for reading. xxx P. S. This has been posted on other sites but always by me katygriff

I had my hen do here and they were very welcoming! They were a little slow to serve champagne and we had to keep asking where it was. The food was lovely and served quickly, good atmosphere.

I know it’s a chain and I know I’ve already reviewed one of its restaurants. But I can’t get enough of this place. It is really really good, and consistently so. I’ve never had a bad(or even mediocre) meal. Italian food at it’s best. And so what if it’s a chain, they deserve to do well!

I’ve always found Zizzi’s ambience perfect for eating with friends, lovers or parents. The tables can be placed a little close together on a weekend evening so don’t get spilling any secrets over dinner. Pasta’s, pizza’s and traditional Italian meals are the order of the day here and have always been consistently good. The staff are well mannered and attentive even though they are quite often rushed off their feet. The food is reasonably priced(around £10 for a main meal) and drinks are of a normal restaurant price. It’s main selling point is the homely atmosphere created by an open plan kitchen surrounded with wood burning fires.

Take a trip to Birmingham’s Mailbox development and you’ll find Zizzi’s. This restaurant is focused around wonderful Italian style comfort foods. There’s a warm feeling to this place, probably stirred up by the open wood burning stoves. The food here is reliable and tasty. This is one of those great all rounders where you could take almost anyone for any occasion. After desert, why not consider burning off the calories by taking a walk along Birmingham’s canal network?

Zizzi’s is a friendly and easy restaurant to enjoy eating in. the pasta and pizza’s are always pleasing and the staff are friendly and efficient. I like this place because of its location. Situated in the mailbox where you have so many options for restaurants and bars it makes the perfect pre night out as well as a quiet bite to eat after work. Decently priced this is a very nice place to dine and you could do much much worse in Birmingham trust me, thumbs up

Situated in the huge MailBox retail and restaurant development in central Birmingham, this is one of the better venues of the fast-expanding chain of pizza and pasta restaurants, by the same people that brought us ASK. The restaurant has large picture windows, overlooking Gas Street canal basin — so window seats get lovely views. The menu concentrates on pizza and pasta, although other meat and fish dishes are available. The results are perfectly nice, if rather predictable, but the service is good and friendly,(which can be a failing of Zizzi in London). Good value, too, at less than £25 a head for dinner(with wine).
