The British Heart Foundation has charity shops all across Bristol but this large store in Bedminster is dedicated to furniture and electrical appliances. Obviously a great place to go if you want to get rid of your sofa but also great if you’ve recently moved house and are looking for new furniture — three piece suites start from around £100 and coffee tables and chest of draws are around £40. While this may not be too far away from the cost of buying new, the money is going to a worthy cause and the quality is high. This would also be a good place to shop if you’re environmentally aware and don’t want to buy new, mass-produced furniture.

This used to be a bog standard charity shop but was converted last year to concentrate on selling furniture and electrical items. I came here looking for a sofa and though I didn’t find the sofa I was after, I thought the standard of sofa’s was better than that of The Sofa Project. It also had some really nice dining sets, wardrobes, all in fantastic condition. The range of TVs are super cheap, not flat screen but far sleeker looking than the TV I have myself. Highly recommend checking this place out if you need some new old furnishings.

If you’re anything like me, you probably find shopping for furniture and electrical appliances pretty sterile. It’s one of those boringly practical requirements of life that we sometimes can’t avoid. However, British Heart Foundation’s Furniture and Electrical shop puts a spin on this otherwise fruitless task. Not only are the goods provided here cheaper than they would be at your average furniture store, but the money you invest in them will go to a good cause. This means you don’t have to feel resentful about spending your cash on something as woefully dull as a chest of drawers. Oh, and if you’re about to embark on a spring clean, this shop will collect your furniture and electrical items for free. Fantabulous :)

This charity shop over in Bedminster is a really good find — it’s basically like a mainstream electronic shop only cheaper. All the equipment, although second hand, is still good quality, and you can find some really good finds in there. The staff know their stock pretty well, so if you’re after something in particular it’s worth asking if they’ve got it, as even if it’s not on display they might well have it out the back. A good effort for a charity shop.

The British Heart Foundation is a national charity that supports research, prevention and care of those with heart diseases. A specialist charity shop where they have gathered together all the electricals and furniture donated into one big shop. You can pick up toasters, TVs and a bed all here. Items are very good quality and all electricals have been tested.

There are obviously a plethora of charity chops around Bristol(and indeed here on East Street along) and generally speaking what you get in each one from day to day is down to the luck of the draw. This one, however, is a bit different as it concentrates solely on home furnishings and electronics. Basically they’ve gone to the trouble of selecting all the best donations of this kind and stocking them here. Because of the extra trouble they’ve gone to the prices are perhaps a little higher than your average charity shop, but they are saving you time and the money of course still goes to a good cause. If you need some home furnishings, this is one of the few charity shops in the city that it’s worth traveling a distance to have a good browse in.
