I don’t know about you but I can’t remember the last time I paid the full price for a DVD. When there are so many sales, rental packages, deals and downloads of varying degrees of legality, it just doesn’t make sense to waste cash when you could find what you’re looking for at half the price that HMV are asking. Pink Planet is great for this as the range of nearly new and pre-loved DVDs on offer is quite extensive — be prepared to spend ages browsing if you’re not sure what you’re after or just a little indecisive about a rom-com verses action movie! As the name suggests, there are also plenty of console games on sale too, for most of the major platforms. This shop also buys games and DVDs so if you have a film or similar that you no longer love, sell it for a couple of quid and put the money towards a film you do want to watch.

Near the top of Bedminster high street, just down the road from Asda, this is a little DVD and music shop that you could easily walk past without noticing it. It is definatley worth checking out though. If like me you are a fan of looking though cheap films on offer in shops then you will love pink planet as they are all pretty cheap! It takes patience to seek out what you are after, but with time you will find that bargain film that you were looking for, or an unexpected gem that you had not planned on finding!

With a cash converter at one end of Bedminster, and this pink planet at the other you can easily find yourself at home with 4 or 5 new DVD’s and barley have spent £10… well I can anyway. What you gain with pink planet is more selection of games and console accessories, but what you seem to lose is that the DVD’s are on average probably 50p more expensive than cash convertor. But if you cant find what you are after in one, you are sure to find it in the other. The people in store will be able to tell you pretty quickly if they have what you are looking for which can save many hours trawling through the miss-mashed DVD and game ordering system!

Whenever I’m in need of a new Playstation 3 game or a few DVDs to see the weekend through, I make a special trip to Pink Planet DVD in Bedminster. I’ve always managed to find what I want in there, for a really good price, and often been able to trade in old stuff that I don’t want anymore. The shop is well laid out, with DVDs on the left and Games on the right, and there’s a good selection of both. I have always found the DVDs quite difficult to browse though, so if you’re looking for something in particular, prepare to be patient, but you will be rewarded by the outstanding value of stuff here. The staff are quite helpful, they know more about the games here than the DVDs, but it’s always worth asking them for help.

There must be hundreds of DVDs for sale in here, all mixed up but with a variety of different genres there’s lots to choose from. The shop also has a games section, stocking games for a variety of consoles.
