This has to be one of my favourite chip shops in Bristol. I haven’t been here in a while and I had to ask myself why because I love the food ! A great menu with lots to choose ! Highly recommend a Donner kebab, chips and salad. I had large and it was around £5 which I think is good value. The food has great taste and flavours. The staff are fantastic always a good sign. parking available along Filton Avenue. I will make sure I visit here more. I highly recommend giving this place a try. You won’t be disappointed !

When I asked my new employer«what are the perks of the job?» I didn’t expect her answer to be «a weekly trip to The Jolly Fyer!» In my office this fish and chip shop is something of a legend. The second someone offers to take their car round to pick up lunch there, their usually grumpy business men faces light up like little boys in a toy shop. At less than £5 for a blooming great big portion of fish and chips it’s an absolute bargain. It may not make the office smell too tempting for the rest of the day — but who cares! The fish is light and crispy and the chips are chunky and fully of flavour. But don’t let that stop you from trying the rest of the menu — their kebabs and mousakkas and burgers are definitely worth a try. Stamatis Lomvardos and his family deliver fast and friendly service which is perfect when trying to feed an office full of hungry workers!

It isn’t often that a Fish and Chip/Kebaby is also concerned about ethics. The now twenty-three year old Jolly Fryer in Filton, however, boasts home made kebabs and 100% Fresh Chips. They also claim on their website to use groundnut oil instead of hydrogenated fat. The owner, Stamatis Lomvardos has put great effort into making his fish and chip shop one of the tip-top takeaways in Bristol and it shows in the food. The chips are always fresh and tasty, even last thing at night. Dont worry if you’re after a filling meal, the owner made the national tabloids recently, having created ‘Britains Biggest Burger’. The Super Scooby is a challenge for any stomach, reaching a mega 2645 calories, and served with chips on the side. He claims that no one has finished the burger unassisted and offers a free diet coke to anyone who finishes the burger all by themselves! Lomvardos is clearly dedicated to his food and his restaurant, claiming to eat his ‘decious’ super scooby every week!
