Stepping into Totally Toys delights many senses– sight, sound and touch. There are so many things to occupy the young or the young-minded — things to press, touch, listen to. The majority of toys are fairly modern so don’t expect to find any old-school toys. The prices are very reasonable and this is a great shop to pick up a gift for children up to about 11 years old.

For quite a short road, the children of Gloucester Road are blessed with four toy shops, Playfull Toyshop, Punchinello, Rainbow Wools and Totally Toys. Walking through the doors of Totally Toys is liking taking a step back into my childhood where bliss came in the form on The Entertainer or The Toy Box. There’s jigsaw puzzles, skipping ropes and dressing up costumes are a’plenty here so it’s a great place to shop for stocking fillers or birthday presents.

This is a lovely little toy store along the Gloucester road. When I went in I felt 6 years old again, especially due to the Christmas toys, decorations and music playing. I found it a great place to pick up some Christmas gifts for my younger relatives. I’d say this toyshop is suitable for new borns up to around 10, but there’s always room for the young at heart. Find this shop next to Scoop Away and the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity shop, ideal for a mid shopping trip break for the kids.

Perhaps I should have grown out of the thrill I get from going in toy shops but for now it is still there, and Totally Toys on Gloucester Road does the job nicely. This shop has been in Bristol for as long as I can remember and the extensive range of products never fails to amuse me. While I’ll freely admit that the main urge to visit this shop is normally fancy dress related — they do some excellent novelty hats(sea captain/police officer/gangster/Mexican etc) for around the £5 mark — I do love looking at all the little plastic toys and colourful stationary. This place still has a Sylvanian Families display in the window and stocks old skool favourites such as the Rubik’s Cube, as well as more modern brands that the kids are into these days. Totally Toys is like a Santa’s Grotto for adults and kids alike and if you need to impress a young one then this is definitely the place to shop!
