The ice cream/gelato here was okay. Nothing special so no need for a special visit. I had the rum and raisin which was, in my opinion, too sweet and had not enough rum flavour. Other flavours didn’t seem too appealing but I decided to give the store a try after it was deemed the«best gelato in Cambridge» on some blog. If you’ve got a sweet tooth this might be a spot for you but I will definitely not revisit as this is far from the best gelato I’ve had.

When I got to the peanut butter in my peanut butter banana crêpe, I knew that this is a beautiful world. It was just delicious.

Got the detox smoothie, which looked unimpressive but did make me feel better… coincidence?

We have had food here twice! The first time we enjoyed sweet crepes and the second their savory crepes. The food was delicious and better than most of the food we have had in England. We liked sitting upstairs and looking down on the street. We will be going back later for their homemade ice cream! Give it a try!

Food was ok. Had the American style pancakes which were definitely a little bit better than McDonald’s. Drank our cups of tea in the largely empty coffee shop. It was after all very early on a Sunday morning. Benet’s doesn’t give you a pot of hot water with your tea so we asked for some hot water. We were briskly told«we don’t do refills». My wife asked, «pardon» and the barista replied as curtly as before, «we don’t do refills». Given that the place was near empty and the staff were less than busy, we found this to puzzlingly rude. We usually get breakfast at the Copper Kettle, just a few doors down. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the food is good. We’ll stick to the Copper Kettle in the future. Little things matter.

This place has decent ice cream, but a really rude owner who is not afraid to push customers out of the store if he doesn’t like you. Avoid if you do not like being disrespected.

I’ve visited this quaint ice cream shopette quite a few times during my travel-study stay at Pembroke(in the Summer of 2011). It was always my favorite to get a scoop of the mocha ice cream on a waffle cone. Holy crap, were they delicious! Ice cream from Benet’s was a good idea any time of the day from sun up to sundown. I highly recommend this spot and would gladly return if I ever found myself in Cambridgeshire again.

Right in front of King’s College, Benet’s is a high traffic spot targeted towards the tourist crowd. But don’t let that fool you: they do, indeed, make delicious homemade ice cream. I enjoyed a salted caramel on a waffle cone– perfect combination of sweet and salty. Yum! It’s a great place to people watch as well.

Definitely a tourist trap with rudest owner in a business I have seen so far. Owner does not hesitate to kick you out or push you to by bottled water because tap water is served only in little paper cones(even if you ordered food and coffee). Would not recommend this place, you are way better of going to nero next door.
