Great for high-end bikes and quality town bikes. If you need something second hand or simple workshop tasks, there are plenty of other options in Cambridge.

I took my bike into Primo Cycles for some crank bolts and a new chain, expecting it to cost less than £20. When I came to collect my bike, the bill was over £80. Without my permission, the mechanic had replaced my brand new bottom bracket(BB) he said it was worn out. I was told that I wasn’t allowed to collect my bike without paying, so, reluctantly, I paid. When I got home, I checked the BB and saw that it was the same model that I had bought the previous week. I returned to the shop on the same day with the box and receipt from my original BB to ask the mechanic and owner of Primo to replace my original one and refund me for the BB they’d fitted without my permission. They refused and told me again that it was worn out. I returned the next day to complain for a third time, but had the same response. Primo Cycles charged me an extortionate price for a bottom bracket that I didn’t need and didn’t even ask for. It was only when I wrote reviews on-line and contacted a local bike club that the owner offered me a refund. I would strongly recommend using an alternative bike shop.

Hey, I ordered a couple of bike locks from here about three weeks ago. I’m in Australia so I know it can take a while, but I emailed them to see if they’d at least posted them and no response. Did you guys get your items eventually? Hope it’s not a complete fraud
