Great restaurant !

Fantastic resturaunt in the heart of Camden serving their own twist on the classic fish and chips. The chips were perfect and well seasoned. I had the plains version of fish and chips covered in Panko breadcrumbs. They offered 5 different more modern twists such as bbq and other unique flavors. The portions were generous but not over-facing. The fish was fried to perfection and the service was friendly and attentive.

Regular panko breaded fish chips, not too greasy and well portioned. The chips are homemade, nicely done. We had the seaweed salad, which was okay at best. I could see though how someone might love it, and many others would not like it at all. I’m in the middle. I will say my friend found 3 small bones in her fish, so eat with caution!

I was really excited to try Hook as it brings fresh touch to fish and chips. However, I left the restaurant quite disappointed. Not«hooked» at all… I found the menu and the sides quite limited. They only serve fried fish, no seafood. Ordered Mexican spiced panko seabream with jalapeño and lime sauce, sumac & lemon tempura of seabream with baharat(what means spice in Turkish I do not know if it does make sense describing the ingredient any other languages) sauce, Cajun spiced panko chicken what are served in little wooden boxes. I like the serving idea. Unfortunately, the fish was weak and portion size was not great. The fish were placed over the chips so the chips below were soggy. The chips actually were not chips, oily potato wedges. Moreover, it was slightly over seasoned with salt and pepper. Overall, I did not enjoy the chips. Salt and herbs overpowered. Only the chicken was nicely cooked. Atmosphere was nice; they have also party room which is a good option for big groups. Staff was helpful and attentive. I do not understand that the restaurant was listed in local cheap eats. They charge in breadcrumbs £10 and in tempura £12 for small fishes. It is not that cheap I assume in comparison with what you get. Overall, I respect the idea but new school fish and chips is not my cup of tea.

The best fish and chips I had in London. Ever. What more to say…: God service, patient, smiling, fun and engaged. We ended up having a bit of a chat about places to visit when in Copenhagen and vice versa when in London. Really good food. Really good.

This place is friggen good. Goes above and beyond your standard fish & chips joint. Menu items like Jamaican Jerk, Cajun Spiced and Mexican Spiced fish & chips set the bar pretty high here. It’s also an appropriate amount of fish and chips. I’m a 6 foot tall, 30 year old male who weighs 187 pounds and it was the perfect amount of fish. Not too much like some places where you’ll never finish it, and not too little where you’re gonna leave less than satisfied. I’m am leaving here satisfied. I would eat here again. «Guys, I’m gonna get a bubble tea before they close. It’s right across the street.» –Maya

Delicious fish and flavored lemonade and the service was fabulous and friendly. The Camden area was a bit… gritty, but the fish and chips was worth it.

Not a very selective menu. Good original fish and chips but not too much to choose from. Service was good. Definite place to go for fish and chips. Located in a very artsy area, Camden road. Fish is fresh from the market everyday so menu items are subject to change. Good food English food in a trendy and artsy area. Would recommend for a casual dinner.

Stunning fish and chips for only £10. Panko breadcrumbed haddock with lemon and basil sauce accompanied by proper chips! The restaurant has a very cool vibe and I loved the benched seating. Busy for a Friday afternoon but service was very friendly and fast. The food was delicious. Crispy coated fish with an interesting tangy sauce. Would have loved to have tried the jerk ling but I was completely stuffed after my haddock. Definitely worth the walk from Camden Market to find this place, will be back again!

Woah. I’m totally hooked. (see what I did there?) This is the best fish and chips in London. Seriously, it is sooo good. You can choose traditional fish and chips OR go with some of their gorgeous sounding(and super tasty) more original flavours. Both fish were good naked, but were *amazing* once you add their sauces. We chose one panko, and one tempura: — Lemon & Fennel Panko Hake with Seaweed Salted Chips & Lemon & Basil Sauce(£10) — Lime, Mint & Wasabi Tempura of Seabream with Seaweed Salted Chips & Basil Chilli Sauce(£12) * We both liked the tempura version more than the panko(it wasn’t really panko… it was just normal breadcrumbs — I guess they want to sound more posh!?) * The chips were sooo good. I love using nori for seasoning… and there were so many that it is impossible to finish a whole portion. * They use lots of different types of sustainable fish — so you can keep trying now types and discover that you love them ALL! * I looooved their sauces. * The home-made lemonade was delicious too(I tried lime and mint) I’ll definitely go back, and you should go and try it too!

Finally a decent FnC in my local area!!! There are a few others that are ok, but this place really impressed me, I love the different flavours they have used for the fish and the selection that they have, I’m not an eco warrior but I thought that the sustainable fish idea was in tune with the local area(whole foods and organic green grocers down the street) the chips were crunchy and well seasoned, more importantly they aren’t mean with the servings of chips either(my pet hate) The bar menu is really cool, a decent selection of ales and largess which include local breweries such as Camden Hells(very good!) The restaurants has a decent amount of seats, and take away option is available. More importantly the price is really affordable! Under a £tenner each which you can’t argue with in this part of town!

Amazing and innovative fish and chips with the usual classics and new takes on fish and chips. The fish is fresh and the ingredients were high quality. They had a nice selection of Belgian beers too.
