Best Western Maldron

Terrible hotel, me and my girlfriend stayed there, when going to room after being out we were questioned and had to be checkedout by door men, everyone was looking at us, thinking we had done something wrong, avoid this hotel

I recently booked this hotel through
. I was working in Cardiff for a few days and I wanted somewhere central and near the train station.
The Maldron is just along from the train station (Central) and sits above Viva Brasil with the entrance at the side. It is a Best Western so the hotel is nice and modern, friendly staff and decent facilities.
My room was a double, floor to ceiling windows on one side but decent curtains which actually closed over the window properly. Rooms had tea and coffee, large screen tv’s and ironing board and iron.
The bathroom was a toilet, hand basin and bath with shower over the bath and it worked fine enough.
I was only in the hotel really to sleep and didn’t go to the bar or the restaurant but the room was comfortable, clean and the bed was great so I slept well. I would book to stay here again as the location is great and for breakfast, etc there are plenty of café’s such as Starbucks, Costa and Caffe Nero where you can grab a cheap breakfast.
I couldn’t get the wifi (free) to work properly but I had been having issues everywhere apart from Starbucks so it may have been my laptop so I’m not letting this affect my rating.
So, yep, would recommend and I may even be here next time I am visiting Cardiff for work.

New big hotel with an awesome location in the middle of Cardiff.
Don’t let the Best Western affiliation scare you away. This is a very nice hotel with spacious rooms, right across the street from the pub life of Cardiff and a ten minute walk through the busy shopping area to Cardiff Castle.
Another convenience is it’s right next to the Cardiff Central train station, handy if traveling by train.

Ein neues schönes Hotel, Übernachtung für 65 Pfund, hat ein schönes Frühstücksbuffete. Da ich englisches Frühstück mit den Pappwürsten und der Blutwurst nicht mag war die Auswahl ein bischen eingeschränkt.
Das Hotel liegt zentral und man kann alles zu Fuß erreichen.
Die Zimmer sind schön und praktisch eingerichtet. Es gibt eine Hausbar. Das Personal ist freundlich. Nachteil: man kann nicht vor der Tür halten, es gibt keine Autozufahrt zum Hotel und keine Parkmöglichkeit am oder im Hotel. Parken kann man in einem Parkhaus (ca. 150 Meter) für 20 Pfund die Woche. Deshalb nur 4 Sterne.
