My partner and I came here for dinner tonight and I’m really happy to add this on my list of authentic Chinese restaurants that serve DELICIOUS food! ~ Atmosphere: The atmosphere here is pretty lackluster I’ll admit. They make a half-hearted attempt at décor, but it’s a bit tacky and dated. However, it’s still clean and there’s decent enough seating for large groups. ~ Customer Service: Walk in, and they offer you two menus: a traditional one, and an Westernised one. Obviously, I just ordered straight off the traditional menus that had plenty of photos as well. The waiters were quite friendly and spoke Mandarin to me; plus they were very efficient and food came at a decent time. The only negative was that he forgot about our drinks, but when reminded we immediately received them. Since this isn’t a large restaurant, it’s pretty easy to get the attention of staff. ~ Food: I noticed that Ken E. wasn’t very happy with his meal but it’s probably more to do with what you ordered than anything else. I ordered some of my traditional favourites and all of it was divine! – Steamed Pork Belly w/Preserved Cabbage(Kou Rou) – One of my FAVOURITE Chinese dishes. Although Golden Corner doesn’t do it like my grandma does, it’s still fantastic. This is a really fragrant pork belly dish with perfectly rendered fat. The meat just melts in your mouth as well. Even if you’re not used to traditional Chinese flavours, I’m positive that anyone who likes pork belly will LOVE this. – BBQ Pork Buns(Cha Siu Bao) – This is dim sum, but one of my favourites(I used to eat tons as a kid) so I couldn’t resist ordering it for dinner. A perfect mixture of sweet and savoury all in a fluffy bun. You can’t go wrong with Cha Siu Bao. — Everything else I ordered was fantastic as well, but I just really wanted to recommend the pork belly. I’ve eased many people in traditional Chinese food before and I swear if you come here and order it you won’t regret it!

Went here because of the reviews. Looked promising when we walked in. To be fair, the hot and sour soup was very good. But then the meal turned to total shite. Everyone else’s food looked luscious, but we were brought two plates of pale, starchy and bland food; it was some of WORST Chinese food I have ever had. I am mad at myself because we ate it and suffered rather than sending it back. If you are not East Asian, avoid this place.
