Shocking. After visiting the curry corner previously, we felt comfortable on the level of food and service we would receive. 45 minutes before our first drinks arrived. 1 hour 45 minutes until our first lot of mains arrived, 4 of the 8 people in the party(having no starters). Then 15 minutes later another three mains arrived, with the 8th persons meal arriving later. Then the naans arrived after that, where as some had already finished their meal. Management were not interested in the terribly poor service they had given. Will most definitely not be eating here again, it is as if it the restaurant is being run by amateurs, amateurs with no passion in what they do. Shocked how this restaurant has changed and how downhill it has gone. If they are relying on reputation, I feel stormy waters ahead for them, such a shame. There are many better value restaurants in the area, restaurants with far better service and atmosphere.

Well worth the trip. Great flavors, lovely atmosphere. I had the vegetarian thali, which had a wonderful array of dishes. The mushroom curry was a standout and I loved the delicate spices in the rice. If I lived nearby, I would go back to try more dishes. I recommend getting appetizers and dessert as well. I really liked the almond kulfi(creamy Indian ice cream).

Great food, puts the usual currys to shame. That said you do pay for it! Nice décor and very friendly & attentive staff.

A group of us went here on business expecting great things, everything was OK but very expensive.

Due to being extremely fussy when it comes to curries, in the last 20 years I only know of four decent Indian restaurants — this one, The Taj in Bishops Cleeve, Balti Cottage near Birmingham airport and one in Islington. Décor is a little overdone since the refit but what an improvement from the little dark carpeted dingy place with the fishtank it used to be. Curry Corner is quite expensive but the chef knows exactly how to make a proper curry and always has done. Whatever you order you will not be disappointed. Fantastic food! Book to avoid disappointment as always busy. Referring to a previous review — I would rather have just one of these curries than 4 of the Bath Road ones!

Somewhat overrated & overpriced. OK, the food is good, but it should be for the prices charged. You’ll find other Bangledeshi restaurants in Cheltenham serving equally good nosh but for 20 per cent less money. It can’t be the location which is a bit out on a limb and useless for parking. Personally, I think that the major refurbishment may have moved their aspirations to a level which is fine for Chelteham’s Regency grandees, but not so good for your average curry lover. Great for a special occasion but you’ll get 3 Curry Corner’s for 4 of anyone else’s in the Bath Road!

Extremely high quality curry either eaten in or taken away with a varied menu, friendly staff and a really enjoyable ambience. I think the place tends to be overlooked because it’s not near the centre of the town, but it’s well worth the extra distance. The food is presented rather carefully and creates a range of flavours rarely found elsewhere. More extravagant dishes include local rabbit and some less common fish dishes, but the standard madras, tikka masala and jalfrezi, and others, are all on offer. There is also a large dessert menu, itself uncommon at curry houses, most of which are traditional Indian or Pakistani sweets, rather than attempts to satisfy the western taste. The atmosphere is quite relaxed with modern furniture and decorations that hint at the east but never impose. The fine touches make the difference here, such as unusual bottles of water that resemble large test tubes, outstandingly smart waiting staff, and the use of gloves when laying tables to prevent marks on the cutlery. One would be forgiven for thinking that the restaurant is pretentious, but the staff are welcoming and friendly. The prices are on the high side for a curry house, but this is truly fine curry, and the price of the food is a fair reflection of the skill and care that has gone into producing it. The only small complaint here is that the hand dryers in the toilets are extremely loud and do intrude on your dinner if sitting near to the toilets, but this is not enough to be a serious distraction to an excellent dining experience.
