like so many things in life, including my good self, this place is small but perfectly formed. It is where I go before hopping on the plane to grab something for junior — Daddy would not be allowed back into the house if there wasn’t some small offering to make up for not taking off-spring on the plane… I keep telling him he wouldn’t enjoy the boring meetings but he reckons a business meeting would hugely benifit from the input of a 3 year old. He’s probably right. They have a good stock of relatively inexpensive offerings, exactly what you need for peace offerings or indeed to keep them occupied if you have them with you.

Oh Hamley’s! You’ve save me a few times when I needed a cute last minute gift or when I need art supplies! Who knew? Thanks a bunch for keeping the prices the same as your stores.

No trip to London is quite complete without a visit to the world’s biggest toy store: Hamley’s. Their main branch on Regent Street in Central London has lots for children and adults alike, as well as some of the best travel gift potential you’ve ever seen. It’s probably the only thing aside from Playstation that can keep the children of today busy all day. The Terminal 1 Hamley’s falls quite short of the bar however. The first thing you notice are those horribly irritating mechanical puppies and kittens that shuffle around, stopping every three steps or so to yap robotically. Also, the shelves in this Hamley’s are so busy it seems as if they haven’t made a sale in months. Considering their almost hidden position at the other end of duty free, perhaps this might just be the case.
