It’s called«V-bar» located in the downstairs corner of the London Heathrow Airport near the duty free shops and no it does not stand for«vagina bar». This quaint little tapas bar was well worth my frantic walk back and forth throughout the entire frieking airport searching for just the perfect balance of vibe and good food. They have a pleasant mix of jazz music playing subtly in the background and the waitresses work really fast and do a great job. The menu consists of several tapas, an all day brunch, and plenty of hot dishes including something for all you vegetarians out there. I had a tomato and Gorgonzola bruschetta on focaccia and of course an Estrella beer to toast my trip to Spain.

Decent menu choices with the ability to see the flight gates as well as charge your phone while eating breakfast. I went with fresh squeezed pineapple and orange and found it very refreshing with the natural taste of how added sugar or water. It was so good that I kind of just wish they used something a little bigger for a glass and not a small water cup. I had the vegetarian breakfast and enjoyed the combination of flavors on a mushroom, yellow and red peppers, herb scrambled eggs, buttered toast, a tomato and baked beans. The peppers were very juicy and cooked perfectly which was also to be said about the mushroom which was an enormous offering. The eggs were well seasoned, but for the rest of the items in the dish felt as if the scrambled with herbs could have been better with fried or poached eggs, but maybe that is just to my liking. The tomato is a little difficult to consume, but the bites I had offered a good constipation. Baked beans I don’t really get. It does not complete the dish nor does it offer anything worth raving about. The waitress was great and overall this place is a winner–

Terminal 5 is a drag, we can all agree on this… However, after speeding through London at 5am and whisking myself through ticketing and check-in with no issues… I was left with some very early hours to kill in T5. Enter V Bar. My porridge with fresh fruit and Americano with hot milk accompanied by OJ certainly brought me to life and the service was exemplary. I had a nice space to sit and relax prior to boarding my flight, something I always prefer in comparison to Pret or Starbucks. Rushed and crowded, no thank you. In T5 with a bit of time? Check V Bar out for some sustenance and then be on your way…

5 stars for a place that has killer cappuccino and an outlet to charge the iOS devices. Ya, works for me.
